From the New York Times bestselling authors of The Forgotten Room comes a captivating historical mystery, infused with romance, that links the lives of three women across a century--two deep in the past, one in the present--to the doomed passenger liner, RMS Lusitania.May 2013Her finances are in dire straits and bestselling author Sarah Blake is struggling to find a big idea for her next book. Desperate, she breaks the one promise she made to her Alzheimer's-stricken mother and opens an old chest that belonged to her great-grandfather, who died when the RMS Lusitania was sunk by a German U-Boat in 1915. What she discovers there could change history. Sarah embarks on an ambitious journey to England to enlist the help of John Langford, a recently disgraced Member of Parliament whose family archives might contain the only key to the long-ago catastrophe. . . .April 1915Southern belle Caroline Telfair Hochstetter's marriage is in crisis. Her formerly attentive industrialist husband, Gilbert, has become remote, pre-occupied with business . . . and something else that she can't quite put a finger on. She's hoping a trip to London in Lusitania's lavish first-class accommodations will help them reconnect--but she can't ignore the spark she feels for her old friend, Robert Langford, who turns out to be on the same voyage. Feeling restless and longing for a different existence, Caroline is determined to stop being a bystander, and take charge of her own life. . . .Tessa Fairweather is traveling second-class on the Lusitania, returning home to Devon. Or at least, that's her story. Tessa has never left the United States and her English accent is a hasty fake. She's really Tennessee Schaff, the daughter of a roving con man, and she can steal and forge just about anything. But she's had enough. Her partner has promised that if they can pull off this one last heist aboard the Lusitania, they'll finally leave the game behind. Tess desperately wants to believe that, but Tess has the uneasy feeling there's something about this job that isn't as it seems. . . .As the Lusitania steams toward its fate, three women work against time to unravel a plot that will change the course of their own lives . . . and history itself.

I'm impressed at how smooth the chapter transitions were in this one! It really felt like one story, not three authors jamming three POVs together. I think my favorite plotline was Sarah and John's, but all three of the leading ladies had interesting backstories and motivations, and the sinking of the Lusitania at the end hit me like a brick, even though I knew it was coming! #historicalfiction

I enjoyed this but wonder if there‘s a percentage of history vs fiction recommended for historical fiction. This felt more like a romance taking place within a historical setting than it did historical fiction. That‘s not really a complaint- just an observation.

Another fantastic story from these three authors. I really enjoyed the concept and the writing was so well woven together, I really would have thought it was one author who had written this book, not three. It was quite a beautiful tale with a lot of emotional resonance. Hope they put out another book together!

HF based on the sinking of the Lusitania during WWI, 1915 - dual timeline. Written by the 3 Ws (Williams, Willig, White), this is done well, and keeps you guessing.

One audiobook finished and another ready to start tomorrow. I'm so glad I finally started listening on audio some months ago- it's transformed my commute!
I enjoyed listening to this book: it's 3 stories, written by 3 authors, narrated by 3 voice actors all combining to give us a story about love vs loss, honor vs treason, family legacies vs forging your own path, and self discovery. Two thumbs up!
Now on to Sweetie's story!

I just finished the Audible version of this book about a few mysterious passengers on the Lusitania who might have had some bearing on why it was sunk. Light romance, which was all I could bear since I don‘t care to read romance books, but the characters‘ stories and the overall mystery was well done. The narration, however, was exemplary. Close to one of the best. Great character differentiation and accents!

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 This book sucked me in from the beginning! I loved Sarah‘s story. She was definitely my favorite of the 3 women, which is strange because usually my favorite would be someone from the past and not the present. It makes me want to read more books about the Lusitania. I wanted more about the actual sinking of the ship and more about the mystery they were researching. It just left me wanting more! A great read!

I finished up the #24in48 with a little over 17 hours read. I had a busier weekend than planned so I‘m very happy with the results. I was able to finish two books, listened to a large chunk of an audiobook & I‘m halfway through two more books, including ‘The Glass Ocean‘ pictured above.
