Welp, I couldn‘t help myself: I read this August #roll100 pick in about 20 minutes last night. Very forgettable and meh. Edward Gorey did it way better, in my (very novice and non-horror loving) opinion. I‘d recommend a read for the biggest Tim Burton fans and a pass for everyone else.
Nice to get a jump on August‘s #roll100 picks though!

Maybe just not my thing? I‘ve never in my life thought “I want to read some cutesy yet very bleak doggerel poems”. I know lots of people like this and found it quirky but it just seemed to me like what if shel silverstein got really really depressing.

As expected, just as dark as Tim Burton's movies, I loved the illustrations and the quirky poems and short stories that went with them. Definitely reccomend for a quick, dark and utterly odd read!

This is a great little poetry book by Tim Burton. The poems are twisted and dark. It is wonderful. The artwork is very cool.

My ARC of No Ocean Too Wide arrived today. Tagged book is for #MysteryMessageSwap. Flourish was written by my pastor @ Radiant Church but more importantly purchased for me by my brother. Plenty of reading in my future! Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!

Dark, freakish, and cute short poems. The theme reminds us of children's stories, but they may be a tad too dark for them. Loved it.

This book is FANTASTICALLY NUTS! 😜😜🤣🤣🤣It's so crazily tragic yet freakin hilarious at the same time. Love the macabre sense of humour.

Wow. I don't know what I was expecting, but this book is great. I laughed out loud several times and l love how dark it is.

We all know Tim Burton tells great and imaginative stories, from his movies. This book recalls the same features as Vincent, and is very fun to read.

My pick for #booktober #longtitle. I love Tim Burton's movies, although some were a hit and miss. He really made a good comeback with Miss Peregrin (I have yet to read the book) seeing the movie yesterday made me think of this wacky book again. The tales in it are all a bit dark and sad, exactly what you would expect of Burton. The art is great and it's perfect for this time of the year. @RealLifeReading

I'll never forget reading this to my eldest son over 10 years ago and getting to the last page of Robot Boy, I almost choked with laughter..... he's now a huge fan and has the nice hardback 1st edition in his room, while I have the paperback in my library 📚📚❤️❤️I'll claim it back when he leaves for uni next year 😉

Every Tim Burton lover absolutely needs this. The collection of short stories and art is fantastic and just a good little book for an afternoon read. ^_^
