Wow this was so good. Excitingly different and a feast for the mind, I may definitely be listening to it again in the future. I can‘t believe I‘d never heard of this until I was scrolling through the library audiobooks, but boy am I so happy I found it. From beginning to end it‘s enchanting and refreshing, I highly recommend this to everyone.

For what it was, it was generally an ok story. I find myself drawn to the human conflict and growth through this story, add that up with a surprising ending I hadn‘t really seen coming I guess I was pleasantly surprised. All in all, it was ok.

I‘m trying out audiobooks while I crochet and it was much easier to visualize the scenes in my head than I was expecting. Though this is more of a read my mother would enjoy rather than I, I did enjoy it for what it is. Some of the characters were annoying though, and I thought a snippet of the ending was a bit melodramatic for my tastes. Overall, it was ok.

These are so much better than the films, I forgot how much I adore her writing style and find myself aspiring to it in my own skill level when I write also. I should dive in to these novels more often, because now I‘m recalling the issues with book vs films oops XD but all in all, so good books, remarkable story, and I love all the characters dearly.

I wasn‘t expecting what this turned out to be, but when the ending came around with a bit of a sad twist, reality sets in about what this story is truly about, and what the value of a life had the potential to be. The pacing was a bit slow until the halfway point and then you fly through it, and there‘s some repetitive word choices and some editing issues in my opinion, but those are minor distractions. All in all, it‘s a satisfying stand alone.

Got myself this beautiful foil set of the books to replace my mismatched first editions: I‘ll be donating those to the library this weekend so others can give them temporary homes. And I‘m definitely gonna have to crack these open once I‘m done with my current read for certain ☺️

The religion in this book wasn‘t so bad to deal with, yet my atheist brain kicked in and I suddenly despise that people can hide behind it and get away from punishment that should be served. What a story, the writing style was wonderful and as an aspiring writer myself, it was a glorious treat. The plot is great and also very sad on many levels, but it‘s thought provoking all the same. Not disappointing in the least.

I tried doing a reread of this would be nice but ultimately it‘s just not holding my attention like I thought it would. So I‘m off to read a book I impulse bought based off the wide praise it‘s been getting on instagram, but now am considering returning it to go back and buy the shape of water novelization once it comes out later this month.

I got this as a birthday present and I fell in love with it. While it isn‘t inherently witchy, the spells presented are given in practical ways to align the brain as though you‘re indeed practicing the spells and strengthening yourself by using them. Plus you get little tidbits of witch history which is nice too. It‘s a self help book but it doesn‘t feel like it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice fun read.

I‘ll willingly admit: this is my first delve into the Star Wars franchise. I bought this on vacation at Walt Disney World when visiting Hollywood Studios after reading the sample in lines for rides. While it wasn‘t the best thing in the world, I‘ve always liked Princess Leia, and this allowed me to be more familiar with her in the universe she lives in. She‘s an incredibly strong princess, and that‘s what I like about her.

I love all of Ford‘s novels, and this one was absolutely no exception. I live in Washington, and reading about bits and pieces of Seattle‘s history always makes me want to go up and explore the places he writes about so amazingly well. The characters are always wonderful, and this one was inspired by a true event (which makes it that much more special). You will not be disappointed, go get this book now!!

My friend lent her copy to me and I just couldn‘t get into it. Surely there must be something to hook me within the first 200 pages but evidently not. Maybe it‘s because I have absolutely no previous encounters with these characters, but I just don‘t want to chip my teeth into such a big series right now. Maybe another time might suit this better for me, but not this time of year.

While this was faithy, I was able to read it because it reminded me how they did it in the show Vikings. The story itself is wonderful and I‘m glad I finally picked it up off my bookshelf as my first winter read. I‘ve got the second book on my Christmas list now, even though I had hoped this would be a stand alone novel. Oh well, now I have something enchanting to look forward to as far as a sequel goes.

I read this a long time ago, back when the most notorious serial killer shortly captivated my attention. Now that this film is coming out based of the best selling graphic novel I‘m considering getting my hands on, I‘m thinking about this book and how interesting it was. A look into the father of a man who did such horrible things and how, in a way, his father blamed himself for making his son this way. Fascinating if you‘re into this stuff.

You know, it‘s a vulgar picture of very raw humanity to the preconceived notions of what the Tibetan people are thought to be. At some points though it was a bit much to read, focusing on the bases of human nature to the point it got old really quick. It was ok, not something to praise like everyone thinks. Read at your own discretion.

Though I know I‘ll be reading these again to enjoy their splendor time and time again, I highly recommend if you‘re a grisha fan. I can‘t believe my stumbling into this universe started by using gift cards at the bookstore and the rare occasion I bought all the books in the series and the first duo at once.

You know, it took me a while to warm up to this. I wanted a story solely about Diana, not about some teenager who has to deal with a plot that doesn‘t seem to make too much logical sense: last time I read a book like this, it was horribly written and I couldn‘t finish it. But Bardugo‘s style I‘m a sucker for, he writing is fantastic, but the story itself for me wasn‘t the best. My favorite parts were Diana‘s chapters.

You know, through the entire journey of this novel, nothing strikes me more than the ending. The realization that when you do something that seems so right in the moment, like you're doing good, lands you in a situation so wrong, it's painful to bear even as a reader. While the story itself seems lackluster, I adored this fresh writing style. Very thought provoking at the very least, I know this ending will stick with me for a while.

That moment I didn't know the author of one of my fave books wrote another novel until I went down just the right shelf on a nearly abandoned bookstore browse. And I wasn't disappointed! It was slow, I'll admit, to get into, but the usual web of intrigue between characters started to reveal itself a bit later than I'd like, but it promptly sucked me right in. Her writing style is beautiful.

I loved this book, but it's honestly because I identify so much with the main character and some of the things she goes through. It's almost wonderful, reading something in the mainstream world about a creator with her various characters that she adores. A creator written by a creator. I would recommend this to anyone, and now I have to sit back and process all of this wonderful splendor all over again.

Ugh, the main character is such a little damn brat. Her changing moment came far too late in the book and for me it really sucked that she cared for the spirits in the spirit world far faster than she seemed to show any of that care and love for any of her family or friends in the real world. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone cause she almost made me want to put the book down multiple times.

To be honest I'm kind of on the fence about this. Regardless of the fact I read in one day, it's an easy read given the layout. I found it frustrating at the one twist cause my mind immediately went to Bubble Boy, and ruined a little of the originality for me (don't judge). However, I also think I'm getting a little tired of the whole firsts in teenage love stories, but that's just my issue to get over. It was ok. Just ok.

My last dip into Nazi Germany and it was pretty good for what it was. Had some interesting twists and turns and was a good mystery to solve, though I did it slower than the average person considering I'm sick while I read pretty much more than half in one day oops. But it wasn't a letdown, and I adored the writing style also.

America._.Charlie Love this book and that cover! Have you read other history type books like this one? Also what was your favorite part? 7y
LadyZircon @America._.Charlie I would have to say the only other book I've read like this is Lilac Girls which is just fantastic! But other than that, I honestly found this by surprise and I had to read it for my minor book slump for this particular place in history. Oh man, my favorite part???? Hmm, that's a tough one...I'll have to get back to you XD what was yours?? 7y
America._.Charlie I think my favorite part was the nursery one because I never knew about that taking place in world war 2. I never knew the little kids stayed in a nursery and people took care of them while this whole war thing was going on. What is Lilac Girls about? I never heard of that book. 7y

LadyZircon @America._.Charlie oooh yes that was a highlight for me as well, but I'm not much of a history person so unfortunately this was all an eye opener for me >.< Lilac Girls is about the women who suffered under the hands of German doctors who experimented on them, giving the girls the name of the Rabbits, but I'm not doing it justice. It deals with real people in the novel also, which I didn't know. 7y
America._.Charlie Probably gonna go out and get that book now because it sounds good. Will you read more history books? 7y
LadyZircon @America._.Charlie I'm not sure, it definitely depends on what the subject matter is but if it intrigues me enough I'm sure I'm bound to try some :) and I hope you like the other one!! It left me speechless really with how powerful it all was. 7y
LadyZircon @America._.Charlie have you read any other history books you'd recommend?? 7y
America._.Charlie The Girls of Atomic City. It's about these 3 women who lived and were apart of the building of the atomic bomb in oak ridge, tn. There are also pictures in there too! History books mainly tell about men during world war 2. But this book talks about the impact on the women and how women were apart of world war 2. This book is based on true stories. 7y
America._.Charlie Also I just read your bio. I can't wait to read your book when it gets published! Is it a romance novel? History? Fantasy? Thriller? 7y
LadyZircon @America._.Charlie ooh that sounds interesting, I'll have to pick it up soon most definitely!! It's not history no, I don't really know how to explain it cause it's still in it's infancy but I'll think on it and get back to you, but it's built around this character I've had and have been fleshing out over this past year, and I'm finally sitting down and trying to write a book for her. She deserves it. 7y

I had to bail on this one as my second venture into Nazi Germany in literature. I just couldn't get past how it's written: like an essay. All the quotes made it difficult to focus on the characters and story, and ultimately pushed me away from it with a mighty sigh of strain whenever I tried to read a page or two. It felt like homework, which a book should never feel like.

After preordering this, ultimately the reading level restriction is getting so on my nerves I just can't finish this. It's so minuscule it writing and it's honestly a let down.
