Dual reads. Both books explore two different parts of society during the same period of history. Both are blowing my mind and knocking my fiction reads to the side.
All of the pages look just like this basically.
THIS IS WHY I LOVE SHORT STORIES. This paragraph right here.
A graphic novel on the life of Josephine Baker in French? Ouiiii
Yo this book was phenomenal. The writing was 👍🏾🔥there were so many good sentences just everywhere. Probs one of my favorites of the year.
Nearly Headless Nick gets a whole chapter dedicated to his nearly headlessness and laments about being left out of the headless club....if he knew that his whole section got cut from the movie entirely, he'd lament about that too.
Currently rereading all the books to counter all the Thesis work I'm doing this semester and theres so many great things left out of all the movies--probably the best part about rereading them is rediscovering these lost nuggets--like how no one in Book 1 could do basic logic puzzles except for Hermione, no magic needed just brains.
When Harry, Ron, and Hermione told Hagrid straight to his face that they were doing what he told them not to do. Team no shame.

Sat down and started this then finished it in one sitting it's almost 4am and I'm not ashamed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.
When you don't have any money for the train but you scavenge up some pennies for a book you really want that's on sale.
This was such an intelligent book. Like, I have none of the words.
When your book reads are as hot as this heat. 🔥🔥💦💦
Read this in one sitting (merci 7hr Megabus ride). Quick and delightful read and a must-read for anyone who's into running (or not because there's also recipes included and, um, hello, food !)
😐 Meh. It's a little lackluster compared to the original trilogy (which I loved so so so much and the reason I waited so long to decide to read this one) but it's not bad. It definitely could have been a lot worse than it was.
Being a Parisian means barging to the front of any queue, and being able to infuriate people just by shrugging.
No truer words for anyone who has ever had to ride public transportation on a daily.
Maya Angelou is always ✔️👍🏾🔥. These two paragraphs got me feeling some kind of way.
Getting in my 50 pages of GoT for the day. 📚 😊
My favorite thing about books besides, you know, reading them is the different book cover designs. Pictured: the UK paperback edition.
She laughed. Faintly as if there was nothing she wouldn't do as if limits and boundaries no longer held any meaning for her. Or else, as if in quiet mockery.
Started this book last night and just didn't stop until I finished! A brilliant book with grit that starts with two half sisters who's fates go in opposite directions and continues the journey down the generations. Minor issues but overall a phenomenal read and currently one of my tops of 2016!
I'm most proud of this book haul because all of these but one was on sale and one (Homegoing) was out on the shelves a week earlier then I had originally thought.
There are more than a lot of times in the book where the language and writing is quality and I was hoping this would be a book that stood out from the rest of the "American living in Paris" memoirs but alas, it's one and the same.
The last few weeks have been filled with studying and exams and other nonsensical things. Needless to say, now I can get back to the basics: reading and drinks.
Larson writing is novelesque and the way he tells the story is so intriguing and wonderful because he gives life to these people and events during the years of Hitler's rise. Also accidentally paired this with "Look Who's Back" a German film about what happens when Hitler wakes up in 2014 Germany.
I read The Devil in the White City for the first time a few months ago and ever since I've been craving another Erik Larson book. Diving into the next one !
Sunday's are for reading, and reading a lot. I've been interested in this once since I read The Goldfinch.
This is one of those books you kinda have to just throw reason to the wind and just go with it. It's completely insane but so much fun at the same time.
