I was scarce today since I spent it with my landlords fixing up their house ?. Being from Sparta, Greece, they treated me to a delicious homemade dinner with special items: meatloaf (not Greek, lol); sautéed broccoli rabe; Greek potato fries; a pumpkin pita; olives imported from Sparta; the aMAZing Greek red wine; warm baklava. (The husband drank a whole bottle himself, and I did the same! ? ?☺️). They are frequent library patrons! ?? ??

Who likes Carvel ice cream cake?! 🤤🤤🤤

No #BookNDinner, but we did talk books 🙂. When you‘re a guest of MrBook‘s, you get fed well 😎. My door is open to Littens—you are most welcome with my extended invitation. Accompaniment on this cold and windy night was: “supergreens” spaghetti in a white clam sauce, cheesy garlic bread, sparkling mineral water, and shrimp & cocktail sauce. MMMmmm 😋! This has been another presentation of: #MrBookKitchen.

No #BookNDinner since I have company ☺️, but I‘m getting compliments on my cooking ?. My stir-fry is a hit: sautéed broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, in olive oil; tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, mozzarella balls, chicken breast strips, spinach, spring mix, walnuts, and parmesan; mozzarella sticks with marinara; and sparkling mineral water. MMMmmmm ?! This has been another presentation of: #MrBookKitchen.

No #BookNDinner, but we did discuss books and reading goals and my upcoming bookish podcast at dinner tonight amongst librarians. 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #RedLobster Edition.

Library Christmas party tonight 😁👏🏻! So, my dinner photo didn‘t come through 🙄🙈. My dessert one did though 😁! I had prime rib in a Guinness mushroom sauce, with mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, and a stout called I‘ll Have What She‘s Having, which wound up being a sweet chocolatey flavor which was tasty for a few swigs and then got to be too much 😆🤷🏼‍♂️. Dessert was a brownie sundae. Irish pubs raawwwk! 😎👍🏻👍🏻 #LitsyLovesLibraries

After work today, a few of us went out for dinner (breakfast, lunch, & dinner for me 😆). We seem to get the same couple tables, so we shall dub them “The Librarian Spot” 😎. Brand-new Litten announcement 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! The wonderful and angelic @BookAngelNYC has FINALLY joined the #LitsyFamily!!! I‘m so happy ☺️! She‘s been one of the true gems in my #2030SomethingBookClub for a couple years now and she‘s always a delight to have out. You may recall, Gabby is the one with our book club‘s mascot, Jazz the Airedale 🐶.

My landlords stopped by to wish me a happy birthday! They‘re very nice. I bring the husband library books on WW2 from time to time when he finishes one and is ready for a new one. A Greek couple, so now I‘m always getting Greek food, especially desserts, lol. So, I have here some spanakopita, anise bread, and kourabiedes cookies, all home-made like mom makes. MMMmmm 😋! I‘m a lucky guy. ☺️

Went to the landlords‘ for #LaborDay dinner!! It was delightful, and there was a lot of Greek food 😁! A colleague from the library was there too, so we all wound up talking about the library quite a bit, lol. Good times!!! Hope you had a great holiday too!!! 🤗🤗🤗

It‘s a wee bit hoooot outside! So, we just got done in Book Culture and taking a cab down to the Amazon Bookstore at Columbus Circle. 20 blocks along Central Park on a sunny day is normally wonderful, bit not when it‘s 100 degrees (37 Celsius, since the aMAAAZing @RaimeyGallant is Canadian) 🥵! 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

I have to say how incredibly blessed I am, and how much more enriched my life is, becoming a part of our terrific #LitsyFamily! I was lost in the wilderness with my bookish passion before joining here. Some ridicule, a lot of joking around about it, and something akin to “am I the only one” loneliness. There were a few folks, but nothing like what is found here. I hope to be on more often.

This is Natalie. She‘s a member of my library‘s book club, and she just turned 95!!! God bless her! I helped her find a couple books for our July meeting, which is an Oceans theme—any books somehow involving the ocean. So she got a couple books set on the coast. 👍🏻👍🏻

My #BookNDinner didn‘t turn out to be one 😆. One of my colleagues and her husband bumped into me and offered to treat me to dinner to cheer me up ☺️🙈! I love my library colleagues, they‘re like extended family. 😁

So, they took me to Red Lobster and I got the petite ultimate feast: fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, lobster tail, crab legs, mashed taters, and unsweetened iced tea.

When we finished up at the correctional facility branch this afternoon, my colleague treated me to lunch. I had a BLT, nothing noteworthy there, lol.

I had a reunion of sorts with one of my teachers after not seeing each other for 20 years! #BookNDinner Part Deux! I got a burger 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! It‘s a mix of chuck, ground, and brisket, which is definitely different. This one is called a Melty Delicious, it‘s got mushrooms, thick-sliced mozzarella, and pesto. The fries were AWEsome! As was the pickle and root beer. MMMMMmmm! 😋
