The Reader | Bernhard Schlink

Our monthly meeting of #ThePoconoBookClub happened this afternoon, and it was wonderful 😁! It‘s the only one of my book clubs that currently meets in-person. For today, we all read a different book—whichever one we won at the Holiday Book Grab Bag during December‘s meeting. Mine was the tagged book, which I enjoyed. Accompaniment for me was: cheesesteak, sweet potato waffle fries, and Left Hand Galactic Cowboy Nitro stout beer 🍺. 😋

American Dirt | Jeanine Cummins

We had our monthly meeting of #ThePoconoBookClub today 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! A bunch of members showed up, and everyone enjoyed the (tagged) book even though it‘s had some controversy. This particular book club met on Zoom May-June, and we started meeting in-person again in July when restrictions began to lift. The pub has a massive outdoor seating area that we‘ve enjoyed. As you can see, I had a cheesesteak ☺️. MMMMmmm 😋!

A Gentleman in Moscow: A Novel | Amor Towles

Another packed meeting of the awesome #ThePoconoBookClub!!! We got our own private room too, it was magnificent 😊. Just about everyone absolutely loved this novel, including me 😁! One of the most beautifully written I‘ve ever read. Accompaniment was a massive bacon cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, Johnny Walker, and fried calamari. MMMmmm 😋!!!

We went out to an #Irish pub for our latest #ThePoconoBookClub meeting today 😁! I stuck with a strawberry and arugula chicken salad, and a Guinness. 😋

Dark Sacred Night | Michael Connelly

We had our first 2020 meeting of #ThePoconoBookClub yesterday afternoon 😁!!! We all talked about whichever book we had won at December‘s grab bag at our last meeting. I won the Connelly book and it was my first Bosch—not bad, not bad at all. I‘ll have to start with the first now though, lol. Full house of great books discussed! I had cream of chicken soup, garlic-dill clams, toasted bread, unsweetened iced tea, & whisky hot chocolate!

One Day in December: the most romantic, feel-good read of 2018 | Josie Silver

Another great year-end book club meeting of #ThePoconoBookClub!!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 So happy to have such a great group of readers meet once a month to discuss books and how they relate to our lives. 😊

We read the tagged book, which received completely mixed reviews—some of us really enjoyed it, some of us thought it was okay, some of us hated it 😆.

Then we had our annual Holiday Grab Bag 🎄! Our prize is our January read! 😎👍🏻👍🏻

The Tater Tot King | Mark Peterson

Today we had our monthly meeting of #ThePoconoBookClub, and it was GREAT! We met at #RubyTuesday for this one. Everyone loved “The Library Book”! Accompaniment was: garden salad, bacon cheeseburger sliders, #TATERTOTS(!!!), and raspberry iced tea. MMMmmmm 😋! We always have a blast at our meetings, this one went over 30 minutes longer than the scheduled time. 😆👏🏻
