The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. 9,6/10 rating. This was so so good!
Again, I did not realize what a huge effect The Neverending Story had on me as a child/teenager that I can still remember most parts and some of them even word by word. It is a beautiful fairy tale and coming of age story. For me it is still my favourite book of all time and I am determined to read it more often. 📖🐉♾️🐎⚔️
After years listening to my favourite book again. I devoured the movies when I was young and when I got my first pocket moeny I bought an expensive version of the story. It so weird to listen to after this many years and remembering some parts that clear and being ablw to finish sentences. I was aware of the impact this book had on me, but never realized it was this huge.
I read this book as a teen and was rather disappointed. Reason enough to reread it as a grown-up. Once again I welt somewhat uneasy as the story progressed. I did not like the new Bastian and preferred the one from the beginning. But that was exactly what Ende is all about. The journey. The discovery. Learning who we are. How we grow. That we all make mistakes, but in the end we decide who we want to be. Deep and meaningful for all of us.
I have the paperback but read lot more since got my kindle scribe so bought the ebook Q9.99 had to be done. Classic book vibes today
“It's always been there, the darkness in the world. Thick and black, smeared all around us. What if we were the only ones who saw it? What if we didn't like it? What if we wanted to find a way out?“
This book can be used to discuss the interplay between fiction and reality, as well as the significance of imagination in literature. I personally was not as into this book when i started it, but can see it be a fan favorite for other audiences.
The Neverending Story is a journey into the world of Fantastica. It explores themes of imagination, the power of storytelling, and the relationship between fantasy and reality. It's a celebration of the creative mind
This me being dressed up as the Childlike Empress in kindergarten back in 1990. Of course no one got the costume. Everyone just thought I was a “normal” princess. Muggles! 🤣
I‘m late! #Titlesandtunes #guiltypleasure
My guilty pleasure is re-reading again, my favourite book from childhood. This book to me is like a hug, a snuggly blanket, a ray of sunshine, a rainbow in the rain! The song is ‘Chocolate‘ by Big boi. Something I eat way too much of. I think the song has a double meaning but I‘ll ignore it. It‘s very catchy too! @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen
I‘m seriously in love with this book…I know the story is just as good no@matter what the book looks like, but…wowza this is lovely.
About to dive into my favourite Xmas present, this unbelievably gorgeous Folio edition of one of my all-time favourite books. It‘s so beautiful I almost don‘t want touch it!! 😍🥰
Admittedly I watched the movie before reading the book, so I should have expected the differences. I adored this fantastical world full of adventure and a bundle of different unique characters. I loved how the story sort of switches POV in the first half, it makes it feel even more magical and creates such a fun way of telling the story. The book has so much more than the movie so I did get a little confused and overwhelmed at times. Overall great
To buy or not to buy. Curse you, Folio Society. I already have 3 editions of this book, but I am oh so tempted. 🥹

A childhood classic and one of my favorite childhood movies even though it‘s heartbreaking.

Well it's official, I'm 40. 🙄
I was lucky enough to have the day off work. So I took advantage of it by doing some audiocrafting. The Neverending Story was one of the books chosen for me in last month's #trappedonanisland and my library hold finally became available.

And sorry for taking so long. But now I've found the perfect quote, that also fits my life right now 😊
(I think I should do a reread of The Neverending Story soon!)

Here's my picks for @aperfectmjk 's #trappedonanisland challenge for the month of July! I hope you find something you like among these :D
It‘s been years since the first time I read this. I had fun revisiting this world.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I guess if everyone is sharing book shelves I'll join the fun. This is just part of the 2 bookcases I have in my living room. (They flank the tv.) I have more in the hall, and in my "fortress of solitude" room. I live in a small space or would have more. Even so by recent count I do have just over 500 books in my space. (Not counting those on my kindle.)
Thanks for the tag @MoonWitch94

2. Not really. I usually read whatever I‘m in the mood for.

What better place to be than the #Attic of your school as you let yourself get lost in a book. 💚
I have loved this movie since I was a kid but I didn't read the book until a few years ago. It made me feel like a kid again when I read it.

Unpopular opinion, here I am! 🙋🏻♀️
Maybe when I was younger I would have enjoyed this more, but I thought it was too long and had too many characters and places.. and don't get me started on Bastian, I hated his character for half the book!!!
Glad I finally read this book, but I'm a little disappointed..
Positive side, I got a BINGO!!

Managed to finish one of the ones that I've been lingering on. It was very nostalgic because the movie used to be a slumber party staple when I was growing up.
#WeeklyForecast
My goal is to finish last months Book and Double spin before heading into more of my backlog.
This is a low pick because while I get that the ending is the purpose I wasn‘t quite thrilled with how it got there. It was nice to read the book though because as much as I‘ve seen the movie it really only covers half the book.
#BuriedAliveChallenge
I‘m so excited because even though it was 90F a couple of days ago today it is a little gray and only 70F which means PORCH READING. I feel like I get so much more into my books reading on the porch.
Happy Halloween to all who celebrate!
#BookReport
Only managed to get a little bit farther in the books I'm maining but a large part of that is due to the fact that I've been reading smaller novelettes that I don't keep track of this week.
#WeeklyForecast
My goal this week is to finish the tagged and then move on to the BookSpin picks for November. I also would like to get to around 60% in Fairy Tales.

Day 75.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
#BookReport
Finished The Boneshard Daughter which I enjoyed but also am sad that the next one isn't due until next month.
#WeeklyForecast
My goal this week is to finish Neverending Story and start Black Company and maybe get like 10% farther in Fairy Tales.
Starting this one as I wait for customers at my volunteer shift.
I personally think this book would have been better if it was a series of novellas. It seemed that I would read a chapter and expect it to be over, even though I was only 50 pages in. It was almost like it was… neverending. I only really read this because I wanted to find out what happened. I wasn‘t really a huge fan of the writing style and honestly, I spaced out while reading this. 3⭐️
My husband bought me a rebound copy of one of my favorites. I've read that the movie version only covers the 1st 2/5th's of the book. I definitely believe that. There is so much more in the book! I have it displayed with my foo dogs because that is how I've always pictured Falkors face as I read it. The workmanship of this copy is amazing. I'm so excited I get to look at this everyday.
I'm so excited it's that time of the month again! #BookSpin reminder is up and now my list is too. I've cut my backlist down from six to two so I am ready for this. Just fingers crossed the chonky bois don't get picked until I catch up. Thanks as always to @TheAromaofBooks for hosting!
1. I can‘t think of any as an adult, but I loved The Neverending Story as a kid.
2. I think Brian Evenson‘s Last Days would make for a delightfully creepy movie adaptation!
Thanks for the tag @bthegood
Feel free to join in on the fun @Horvendile88
1. Several. The tagged book comes to mind, Silver Linings Playbook, Funny Face, Moonrise Kingdom, Stranger Than Fiction.
2. The Heist. All of the Fox & O'Hare books would make a great movie series.

1. My mind keeps going straight to The Neverending Story. I don't know if it's my favorite, but I loved it as a kid and it's making it impossible to think of anything else.
2. I think The Invention of Morel could work really well as a movie. I'd like to see what David Lynch could do with it!
Never read this classic only seen the film. So seeing as it my bday. Treated self to some books to go with new book marks got off friends. New pjs on #bliss
It's that time of the month again! @TheAromaofBooks has posted the #BookSpin reminder so here's my list. I'm still behind from June but I look forward to the draw each month and fully intend to catch up.
I ended up reading the NeverEnding Story because I had just re-read Alice a couple weeks prior (Alice is one of y all time favs). I really really enjoyed the NeverEnding Story. One of my new favs :) ❤ Once Upon a Dream :) Just one of my fav movies :) ❤“It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then“ -Alice

Fun going back to my childhood. Atreyu's voice was so clear. I never enjoyed the second and third movies so the second half was relatively new to me. Now to introduce my girls to Falkor. #NovelWatchingClub @AsYouWish @ElizaMarie @AkashaVampie @jb72
While Pistachio the Luck Puma zoomies all over the place, I‘ll be here late night reading another book I‘ve never read but seen the movie version countless of times.

☀Toughie!!! I would have to pick Hermonie just to keep the convo going. Paddington (who wouldn't want a talking bear), Sherlock Holmes (all his deductions, incase it turns into a murder mystery tea party), Ugh... My brain can't work.... I love a lot of characters, but from afar. ☀Maleficent!!!

I can't believe how much I loved this one! Its so great! It had all the nostalgia mixed in. I am so surprised that this is my first time enjoying this one ... I would like to rewatch the movie but... I don't know if I want to have that cry fest that I have every time I watch it.
