1) I think it was Jim Butcher's Death Masks
2) 🤔 Several years. There are a few books that I still haven't finished after 20+ years. I guess those books taught me to DNF books.
3) Raising two voracious readers. There are a few other things I'm proud of, but seeing their love for books and reading makes me proud. Especially considering there are lots of other media they might be attracted to.
Tag, you're it! 🤪
War with the Red Court of the Vampires that leads to an unbalanced duel.
Hunting down the thieves of a famous bedsheet and finding said sheet.
Demons. Silver coins. Thugs. Gunmen. And Susan is back, looking more edible than ever, with a new man on her arm?
Maybe Harry should have sat this one out.

This is book 5 in The Dresden Files series. All these books are fast paced Paranormal Crime novels. Harry Dresden the MC, and wizard for hire, always ends up with the must dangerous gigs. Love his character and it works so well with the stories. Another great addition to the series. 4 ⭐ #Scarathon2021 @Clwojick #TeamSlaughter #SpookOween #Necronomathon @Patchshank #Wickedathon @StayCurious #LittenListen @aperfectmjk #BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Might finish this book during tomorrow's readathon. #readathon #deweyoct #deweys24hourreadathon @DeweysReadathon

I‘m still having such an amazing time with my read of the Dresden Files. It‘s definitely turned in a comfort read series and I can‘t get enough. Already dived into the short story I need to read before moving on to book 6!

Another excellent edition to the Dresden Files. If you liked the previous books, you know what to expect. This case focuses on Demons and the Holy Knights with Vampires on the side.
Finished The Well of Ascension last night and I loved it almost every bit as much as The Final Empire!!
I realized though July is almost over and I just wanted to get one another book in before July is over. So it‘s back to Dresden Files :)
I got up for a second to close my window and when I came back my puppy had curled up with my Kindle ♥️

I was really glad to get back to this series and this was a good one to do that with. The new big baddie sets up a really promising new arc that makes me really jazzed to see where it all goes.
I'm still really glad that Butcher hasn't gone down the cliche path of romance between Dresden and Murphy because I think that would kill this series for me.
A solid story that introduces a new villainous faction. I must admit I am not a fan of this faction on the whole, but the stories are always great and well integrated into the series plot.
Listening to the Dresden Files books with my husband and enjoying them again. Started Maybe You Should Talk to Someone while at the beach. The last part of my #bookfitnesschallenge week was decent so here‘s my #bfcr3 week 3 checkin.
Walking = 10.59 miles
Audiobooks = 3
Eating = more good days than not
My next three books after I finish Name of the Wind sometime this weekend. 2 are Kickstarter books. Knights of Ashera is a new comic that looks awesome. And Blood is a sequel about vampires in 1800s London. Then after those two quick reads I'll finish off with the lovely and always classy Mr Dresden. It's been awhile since I read the last one and I'm looking forward to it.
My favorite so far!! Filled to the brim with wit, humor, & heart as well as monsters, mobsters, and knights. Action packed & heart breaking at the same time.
Today will go down in history as the day I realized I can read while I work. If no one was here I would just turn on my audio book but beggars can't be choosers. The 🤔😂😜🤓
Opened the door to a good 40 minutes of shovelling this morning. But ya know what...slapped on the headphones (guy's, I got a brand new pair (so shiny & new)) and listened to 25% of Harry Dresden and didn't even care.
Death Masks is so friggen good! I find the series really finds itself in book 4 and then they just get better & better! 🤘
Also...the audio versions of these books are 👌.
I picked up the first Dresden book a little over a year ago and I just ordered #5. I don't mind used books but I don't want holes in them either. 😠 Luckily Thriftbooks has amazing customer service and had already gotten back to me with a refund. I'll probably still read this copy but as soon as I see a better copy (wether online or in my local bookstore) I am getting it.
My guilty, entertaining pleasure. Marsters is a fabulous narrator. The stories get repetitive, Harry is annoyingly glib sometimes, and HOLY GOD ALMIGHTY, STOP TRYING TO WRITE FEMALE CHARACTERS, BUTCHER. You‘re so bad at it. Harry‘s misogyny is getting ridiculous since he has his ass saved by a woman approximately every third page, but these are my popcorn reads, and who knows, maybe Harry will grow by the end of the series? I won‘t hold my breath.
Another Harry Dresden book finished. They keep getting better. I love James Marsters as a narrator, he is fantastic. #dresdenfiles
Started on my first Dresden Files for 2018!!
And again...I love Harry Dresden! He is becoming my no 1 literary character!!😍😍😍

I took a break from the series and this was a good storyline to get me back into the Dresden Files.
This was probably the best in the series so far. Butcher has always fumbled at the end of his books (IMO) but this one got it right. To me it breathed life back into the series.
A enjoyable outing with Harry Dresden, although I must admit, the religious-themes tales are not my favorites. Somehow Harry chasing the Shroud of Turin around just seems less *believable* than him chasing werewolves or faerie godmothers. LOL 😂 😂 😂 Still a fun read.
Jim Butcher as usual always has me hooked. I enjoy learning more about these characters and the world he has created.
Belated review. Death Masks is cool but it didn't stand out for me. The "lore" is starting to truly fill in though. Solid entry to the series. This review may be colored by the fact that it's coming after I already started Death Rites and that one has knocked me out so far with the funny.
