Seemed somewhat disjointed/rushed in the middle of the book. I almost bailed, but made it to the end. Even if you are a fan of the IP wouldn‘t recommend unless you love the Wolves or Republic story arc.

If you like the IP and Stackpole‘s work this is quick fun read.
Found this at half price books after it had been on the radar for awhile. Was worth the wait, loved the ending. The author did a great job of showing how differently an alien intelligence might think, similarly to Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie
As one Serbian government official told him cheerfully, there would be no difficulty managing the Bosnian Muslims. The Serbian army would give them twenty-four-no, perhaps even forty-eight hours to return to the Orthodox faith. “Those who don‘t will be killed, as we have done in our time in Serbia. “ Regarding the Balkans and the state of Yugoslavia page 115.
Only three of the “Big Four” get an introductory chapter, poor Vitorrio Orlando
This WH40K novel was much more interesting the last one I reviewed(Black Reach). The characters had a lot more depth and the story(an inquisitor uncovering a conspiracy)was much more interesting. The author did a great job creating/describing several different sci-fi locations.
The author does a pretty good job of stringing together a lot of pretty evocative action/battle scenes. However I found the characters and overall arc uninteresting. Just an endless string of victories at little cost. To me there seemed no significant development or relationships between the characters.
Another of my son‘s favorites. I like the art and fall vibe in this one. I tend to make up my own plot/story. Don‘t tell him...🤫
Another excellent edition to the Dresden Files. If you liked the previous books, you know what to expect. This case focuses on Demons and the Holy Knights with Vampires on the side.
My son has three copies of this, and hands it to me at least twice a day. It‘s to the point I don‘t even have to read the words to recite it. Surprisingly I still prefer this over a lot of his other books. I find the illustrations are simple and vibrant
Jim Butcher with another great book in the Dresden Files series. He once again mixes Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies, and Wizards in modern day Chicago. He keeps up the humor and breakneck pacing of the previous entries in the series, this time with an emphasis on the Fey.
Not the easiest read, but fascinating look at the premier physician of the second century. Highlights include open heart surgery, without antibiotics and anesthesia, dueling vivisections on animals, and a lot of HIPPA violations.
