Happy Friday
Happy Friday
I‘m currently reading (and absolutely loving) this witty Regency-era romp by Georgette Heyer.
Fun fact: It was her personal favourite of all her novels!
#5joysfriday @DebinHawaii
1. Dinner with some wonderful friends
2. A great discussion at book club
3. A delicious cup of chai
4. An amazing indie bookstore tour
5. Another week down… only 4 to go until summer!
These are the Heyer books I have- i think quite a few courtesy of @mabell The ones I have not read yet are The Grand Sophy, Friday‘s Children, These Old Shades and Cotillion
These bright and sunny beauties came at the end of a rollercoaster week and gave me so much joy!! @Kshakal cute reading 🦕 🦕🦕 I‘m melting! Not to mention the sweet bunny holding a daisy!! Chai is my current obsession and I can‘t wait to try it!! @sarahbellum Such beautiful colors and that tea shop sounds a.maz.ing! Peppermint is my favorite evening tea!! @Daisey A bright 🍋 card to go with a bright lemon and GINGER combo sounds so delicious!
I just wanted something fun to read and after aimlessly trawling though my TBR I realised that there's ALWAYS a solution to that problem and it's either Terry Pratchett or Georgette Heyer. This time I've gone for Heyer.
Though not one of my favorite Heyer books, this one was especially charming because of its hopelessly naive young hero & heroine. It was refreshing to have a hero who may dress the part of a Regency Hero but was exactly what you‘d expect a barely-begun-his-twenties young adult to be, & a very young heroine who had spunk but not much gumption to back it up! It made for some comical dialogue & a cute, silly romp. ★★★☆☆.
I go through phases where everything makes me cry and then nothing makes me cry, but these two consistently do it.
1. Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed
2. I am, I am, I am by Maggie O‘Farrell

Full review on my blog at some point; link in bio.
Quite new to Litsy, but here is my first post!!!!
Working on my vacation #TBR, and a reread of Friday's Child is high on the priority list. I love rereads for vacations - no stress about how things are going to turn out!

This week‘s #friyayintro is brought to you with a little help from Nov of 2017. I asked people to ask their own question, and I saved a few of my fave answers!
So this time you can answer some fun questions from @BarbaraTheBibliophage @emtobiasz @Melissa_J & @youneverarrived ! & then ask your own question at the end. 🙂
(You can tag them if ya want, but if it‘s too much work, just tag #friyayintro to make sure it gets seen!)
1. Maybe not bring back, but I‘d live the 00s again—probably my most difficult but also most rewarding decade. Grad school, first “career” job (publishing/editorial), then packing it in to move to South Africa for 3 years!
