A Halloween treat from a good friend, and something very different for me. Looking forward to reading this.
All of the stories in this book are great. Some even go beyond great. They're very short and they are all told by famous and successful people.

Clearly I must have gotten this from a Shelf-Awareness giveaway. Is that still a thing?
“The eternal music of the spheres.” ⭐️🌔🌍🪐🙏🏼
I've now finished two out of the three Moth books, and I'm about two thirds through the last one. I'm going to be awfully sad when I run out of Moth stories to read, which will be either today or tomorrow. No one should have to run out of Moth stories.
The Francis he's referring to here is Francis Crick.
Still not to 24! But closer than my last time! And I finished three books! 🎉🎉
Now to see if I can sleep with all the fireworks going on! 😂

If I continue at this pace, I don‘t think I‘ll make it to 24. But, I will probably be able to finish at least my Goodreads goal of 100 books!

Not a great start, but that‘s okay. I‘ll do better tomorrow.
@kourtlynrose took me to see Cats tonight, and boy howdy that sure was something. 😂
Anyway, I‘m calling it a night and I‘m off to have weird nightmares about cockroaches with human faces. Night!

Day 6: blue hardcover of All These Wonders (The Moth Vol. 1), edited by Catherine Burns, with gold embossing and engraving
@Liberty would you like to play?
My youngest was given a scholarship by a local law firm at graduation and along with it, this book. I have been reading it all summer but pacing myself because the true stories (originally told before audiences) nearly all made me cry even if some had humor. With that warning, this is very good. Hope son reads it eventually (he‘s very much a reader) but I wouldn‘t be surprised if he spaced these stories out as well.
I have this in hardback, but it‘s in storage. I couldn‘t pass up the ebook for $1.99, and neither should you. (Bossy Meg! 😉)
Seriously, these stories take just a few minutes to read, but many touched me deeply. A man forgiving his daughter‘s murderer, a Columbian dentist operating on a FARC commander‘s son at gunpoint, a scientist receiving the first up-close images from Pluto, there‘s something for everyone. 5⭐️
My second collection of Moth stories. I enjoyed these thoughtful first person tales. They‘re a little bit of many emotions... sad, eye opening, hopeful, loving, and healing.
Anniversary post!
“Our next storyteller tonight is a guy. He‘s done some stuff in his life. You people have done stuff too, so just calm the shit down. Ladies and gentlemen, Neil Gaiman!” - Peter Aguero‘s introduction at The Moth: Unchained Tour in Winston-Salem, North Carolina 9/19/12
Needless to say, this was a big deal for me. #GaimanGang
Beautiful, powerful, heart-breaking, funny stories
Post hike-and-yoga reads!
As a Side Note: this would make for a beautiful graduation gift for anyone 🎓
It‘s my birthday and I‘m clearly celebrating it in the best possible way. 🤗📖🎂
Hiss! Booo! When I got this book from the library, Louie C.K. hadn‘t yet been revealed as a terrible garbage person 😠 Life, fast, etc....

I spent a night thinking about what to say about this book. What can you say about a book with a story of getting refugees to safety in Africa to one pages away about finding a best friend at summer camp?
All you can say is BUY IT, CHECK IT OUT!! I don‘t know if a book has ever made me feel so deeply. I laughed, I teared up, I even let a few tears fall. Read it! All the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s
I‘m definitely starting the podcast 👍🏻
Y‘all this book! One of the best I‘ve read all year. True stories originally spoken by the famous and unfamous about new experiences in their lives. Everything from Louis C.K. speaking about going to Russia in 1994 to a man who was at the Fukushima reactor during the earthquake to a funny story by the man who wrote Go the F*ck to Sleep.
Amazing, moving. I can see why it has nearly 5⭐️ on Amazon. A must-read!! I can‘t wait to finish.
A shameless repost because this happened 5 years ago today.

It was a big deal for me.
I mean...just the most incredible stories. I loved how we could go from “my first job as an SNL writer” to saving lives in war-torn Rwanda and not skip a beat. I cried a lot in public reading this but there was just no other way.
This book is batting 1.000 right now, and by that I mean it's giving me one life affirming cry per story. Do not read in public if you have a macho image to uphold.
As a fan of the podcast, I was excited to see a collection of stories edited for print. However, reading the spoken word is not the same as reading carefully crafted writing. I put the book down after the first two stories, read another book and then decided to try it again. The second time I knew what to expect, and embraced the voice in each story. It was the perfect read when time was in short supply.
casually sobbing while eating lunch - all the greatness of The Moth Radio Hour in book form.
This book was perfection. Each of these stories helped to revive my faith in humankind.
A sort of pick and choose collection. Meaning: some of the stories were amazing but a lot were only so-so. I'd check out the podcast before the book to see if it interests you.
If you enjoy the Facebook page Humans of New York, you'll love this book! Here are stories of real people, told in their own words. We read about their diverse experiences, their joys, their struggles, their heartaches, the things they've learned along the way. It's so vivid that you feel like they're right in front of you, having an in-person conversation. What a beautiful (and often heartwrenching) collection of true stories.

At no point did I say "You are the architect of my internal universe!" or anything similar. We call that a win, folks.

Unexpected #bookmail! I don't remember entering any giveaways for this one but I'm happy to have it! 👍👏
Any fans of The Moth?! If you don't know what that is definitely check it out and look it up. Storytelling at its best. This is a collection of stories told out loud during Moth events. I was afraid they wouldn't translate the same but that wasn't an issue at all! I still felt like I was front and center listening to these amazing stories. Definitely recommend this as an audiobook!
I'm a total sucker for a beautiful cover, but this book could have been super ugly and I still would have bought it! I love The Moth! This is also the first time in a long time that I bought a book for myself at full price. Even though I love my local library, there's nothing like a book that's all yours 😍
This book is just beautiful, inside and out. Loved this reading experience😍📚
So far, so wonderful.
I just ordered these after going to a Moth Story Slam. The bottom one is Manchild by Alan Olifson. 📚 📚 📚 📚 📚 📚 📚
This book is BEAUTIFUL! #bookmail
As a #musician and #musicteacher, I love this. 🎶🎼💕 #music
The Moth, is one of my favorite podcasts! I was not sure if I'd enjoy reading the stories, as much as I enjoy listening to them, but I did 😊 If you're not familiar with, The Moth, they are great stories, little slices of real life, from many different types of people. They cover a wide range of emotions, some funny, some sad and all are touching.
P.S. Does anyone know how to keep the text from blurring when I add image? It wasn't in my gallery.
Today's #bookmail - my preorder arrived! :-D loved the first collection of stories from The Moth and can't wait to read the next one! (I love the podcast and the stories translated well to paper last time).
