Any one else sick of the unreliable female narrator schtick? This was fine. A decent thriller that I probably would have liked better if this troupe hadn‘t been so overused in the last few years.

I‘m a fan. This book was about way more than just a PhD student having a quarter life crisis, it was about immigrants, relationships, family expectations, happiness and mental health. The characters felt so real to me. I would have liked a more fleshed out ending, but overall this was a win for me. If you can get it on audio, do it! The narration was fantastic🤗
This was so weird. I got frustrated about halfway through, but I‘m so glad I stuck with it. I wish I would have known that it reads as a sort of choose your own adventure novel, I think if I knew that it would have been a 5 star rating! The all of the adventures were fully realized and tons of fun!
Just adorable! I‘m fighting a cold and read this in one sitting today.
I don‘t know why I waited so long to read this, but it was fantastic! If Jane Harper keeps writing books this great, she will quickly be added to the top of the list of my favorite mystery authors (but not yet passing Dame Agatha or Tana French😊)
I‘m just over here trying to read and this goof keeps finding tennis balls in the backyard.
I‘m super excited to read another Paulette Jiles, News of the World was my favorite book I read last year!
Man, this lady has been speaking some truth into my heart lately.
This was definitely a #blameitonlitsy read. This book perfectly proportioned fluff and substance, with nicely fleshed out characters. Here it is pictured with the only plant I have. It‘s definitely stoked my interest in gardening. Any Littens out there have a veggie garden? If so, where‘s the easiest place to start?
GUYS. How did I not know about this book? I loved it! I saw a comparison to Big Fish, which I think is a good way to describe it.
So my husband and I are currently in the process of de-cluttering and tackled the dreaded area, books! Amazingly, little tears were shed! We were musing about how we can both love books so much, and yet have a completely different approach to what we read. We even organize our books differently. This is my shelf, which I always arrange by color, it‘s just pretty and makes sense in my head 😊🌈📕
I just couldn‘t deal with this one! There were all kinds of triggers that I wasn‘t prepared to deal with. It‘s well written, but WAY too long. I ended up skipping to the last chapter when I was about 60% done. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
Working in the community means that occasionally you get a cancellation in a neighborhood by the bay and you have 10 minutes to squeeze in a little off season beach reading. Also- I am so excited! I loved The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry! #windowsrolleddown
Not really a bookish post, but I really needed to hear this today! This is for all you fellow worker bee Littens who might need this reminder 🐝🐝🐝
The pipes in our garage have burst and I am OUT OF BOOKS because all of the snow has delayed the mail. #byewinter #bookemergency
❄️Taking full advantage of this snow night ❄️ #bookandbath
Christmas gifts this year included cozy sweaters and cookbooks. One of my bookish resolutions of this year is to actually use the beautiful cookbooks that I buy!
You all understand why is this great. My non-bookish family members did not get my squealing when I received this. #goneshopping
The Sorcerer‘s Stone was playing in the cinema room in the gym and I now know what it feels like to be living my best life 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Christmas makes me want to read all the cozy murder mysteries! I‘ve blown through all of Dame Agatha‘s. Any one have any other cozy murder mystery recommendations? #cozymurdermystery
It was a very interesting experience to get an inside look of a cult from through the eyes of a child. This wasn't the best written memoir, but Anna LeBaron has quite the story to share, and does so very transparently.
Window seat reading today.
Just finished this on audio! Even though I guessed the ending about 3/4 the way through, Ruth Ware still does a great job building suspense. One thing I will say though, the main character drove me a little crazy!
I LOVED this book! Part memoir, history of food, and cookbook. This lady has got a lot of heart ❤️
Meh. This book had a promising first half, and a disappointing ending. The writing was nice and the characters were fleshed out nicely but story resolution didn't do it for me.
Coffee shop reading with this totally engrossing book. Celeste Ng's characters just jump off the page!
I was so looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint! Just like Mr. Penumbra, the best thing about this book is the world building, I love the underground foodie scene depicted. Anyone else inspired to learn how to bake bread? 🍞🍞🍞
Football season means It's time to get into my reading spot!
This book was sweet and fluffy in the best way. And who doesn't love books about bookstores? 📚
I had a lot of fun reading this one. Part western, part thriller/mystery
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, the premise, "missing teen with dark secrets" has been so overdone, but this was a beautiful story about family coping with their grief and a commentary on racism in America. 4.5/5
"The decision you make determine the schedule you keep. The schedule you keep determines the life you live. And how you live your life determines how you spend your soul!"
I think one of my all time favorite troupes is a scooby type gang of teens solving mysteries! This one was really clever and fun.
I had SO much fun reading this! Breakfast club meets mystery gang.
Finished Practical Magic today so of course we had to watch the movie. This might be the first book to movie adaptation where I genuinely liked the movie better. Both were worth the time though! I'll be reading more Alice Hoffman in the future!
Following the green theme. We recently starting growing herbs and they have done beautifully! We need bigger pots. But, the plethora of herbs means fresh mojitos on Thursday nights while I'm reading about a fabulous PI.
This book was...very disjointed. It felt like the tone of the first half was completely different than the last half. The first part read more like a character study than a thriller, and I really enjoyed that. If this were two different books I think I would have enjoyed it more.
I found this to be totally gripping. I live about about and hour and a half away from where this took place and have passed through/visited the eastern shore at least half a dozen times. It just goes to show you that if you stop to take the time, you can find stories everywhere.
This was perfect lazy morning porch reading. I've loved reading the Hogarth Shakespeare series! It's also starting to feel like fall outside which is the best kind of reading weather.
This was fantastic- I'm going to be so angry at myself for staying up late when my 5 AM alarm goes off, but I was totally sucked into this!
Listening to this one on audio had me craving ice coffee like crazy! So far this book is adorable!
I love this series! So excited to read the next one (hopefully it comes out SOON!) There's nothing like sitting on a beach and reading about robots and aliens!
Such a sweet book! And how great is fixer upper 😍
