Yes, I would recommend. It was a short, fun read.

I‘m reading this series as a buddy read with @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick. It reads a lot grimmer than when I first read it. It‘s still a fun, fast read, though. I foolishly forgot to add it to my BookSpin Bingo list.

These books take up quite a bit of space. I'm aiming to read the entire 13-book series this year. (Unless I hate them and just give them all away at once.) My neighbor's daughter is 9 or 10 years old & a little dark. My thought is to see if she's interested in reading them after me so I have a plan of release, and maybe she'll keep me motivated.
Should anyone want to join me, I'll use #AnUnfortunateReadalong to share my thoughts.
Well, gosh. I mean they warn you at the start that this will be bad but it is REALLY BAD. 😆 the name should have given it away. Continuing trying to read a bunch of middle grade with this series which was fabulous on audio but I don‘t think I‘ll recommend to my kids for fear it‘ll traumatize them 🤣 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
A colourful display in a cosy bookstore 📚 I always love seeing The Series of Unfortunate Events, and it was fun to spot it among these other exciting books!
How have you been enjoying July 🌸?

We just listened to this on audible! So much fun!
March 6 #MarchMagic Title Starts With B This series first book is called The Bad Beginning. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks My daughters really loved this series.
This was my favorite series in middle school and I'm delighted to be doing my first reread. I've chosen the audio because Tim Curry 😍 This was just as great as I remembered. I love the over-the-top writing style and the author's asides about word choice and attempts to convince the reader to stop reading.
My plan after book 2 is to read one book per month until the end of the year #SeriesLove2023 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
It made my heart happy to revisit this book. I remember the first time I read it was in my middle school library - MANY moons ago. It brought just as much joy and laughter as an adult.

This book follows the 3 Baudelaire siblings- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. Their life has many unpleasant events after their parents suddenly perished in a home-fire. Count Olaf is an evil man and will do anything to get his hands on the Baudelaire fortune. I love this book for children! Great plot, characters, and use of vocabulary!
#Audiogaming for this morning so I don't go back to sleep.

I loved doing this #seriesreadathon back in the beginning of the year. Looking for some suggestions for mores series that I can knockout in a weekend. Childhood rereads, ya, adults, etc. I‘m good with any and all suggestions.
Some that I‘m considering:
Percy Jackson (still only read the first one)
Small Spaces (only read the first)
Wayward Children (read and adored all of them)
Pretty Little Liars (not sure how many I‘ve read)
Ahhh..I miss the days when I read to my kids. I never read this to them as they were reading on their own by the time this came out. But I‘ve been promising @she_she I‘d read the series for years so here we are…Book the First complete, looking forward to the next instalment. 🪝🪝🪝🪝🪝🪝🪝 7/10 hooks.
Big sister (19) finished this book, and Henry (6) asked what it was about. She said it was about 3 kids. "Can they do magic?" No, but they're really smart. "Like me?" Yes. So now he's reading about the smart kids like him. ?
#4/50
I read these books about 15 years ago, but never finished the series so I decided to reread them. The adults are extremely frustrating, but I remember I related to that when I originally read the books. They still hold up.

I m planning to read this entire series. It‘s a quick and interesting read. Audio narration and background score made it more dramatic. 4.5 🌟

After finishing It Happened One Summer, i seen it was exactly 10am, so I figured why not start my Series Of Unfortunate Events Readathon today! I‘m pretty sure I won‘t be able to finish them all in 24 hours, but maybe 48 including sleep! The first of the 13 books was a super quick read, and now I‘m jumping straight into The Reptile Room! ❤️ #JoyousJanuary #JumpStart2022
Another goal for 2022 is to reread the complete collection of A Series of Unfortunate Events, possibly during a 24 hour Readathon 😆😜 #2022Goals #2022ReadingChallenges
I never finished this series as a kid so im going to read it now. Cant wait for the nostalgia
At times the book seems a little ridiculous, but it has a way of sweeping you along for the full crazy ride. I didn't realize how entertaining the book was until I had reached the end. The author definitely is a great storyteller and I am interested in reading more of their work.
But like so many unfortunate events in life, just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't so.
Lemony Snicket, The Bad Beginning
A favorite series from my childhood
Date: 03/24 - 03/24
I have decided to drop/lost interest in this book, I first started reading this because I love mystery books yet this one had me losing focus on it. Instead I found myself spacing out and just simply putting down the book right on reading a few pages. This why I have decided to drop/stop reading this book
This RF, AS Colorado Children‘s Book award winning novel is an unconventional story that will draw in your students. The theme of this story is that perseverance is possible even in the face of adversity. The Baudelaire siblings become orphaned at a young age and are sent to live with a man who tries to steal their inheritance. The story follows the unfortunate events that happen to them while they fight against Count Olaf. #UCFLAE3414SP21
I liked it. I read it a long time ago.
Fiction: *Focus on Author* - Why do you think the author began or ended the story the way he did?
In this book it started off very depressing because of the fact that the Baudelaire children had lost their parents and their house in a fire.
I think it started off like this because it need a interesting turn of events because the Baudelaire children at the beginning had just gone to a beach
Just started this. There‘s so many sound effects. I find it very distracting. Anyone else struggle with this?
How unfortunate!!
15 points for #TeamSlaughter #Mystery
Onto the Reptile Room!
Date: 10/16 - 10/18
Fiction: It doesn't really say what year this was taken in but it does talk about the setting alot, for right now the first few setting are when the Baudelaire children went to the beach. The beach was empty because they only liked going to the beach on cloudy days because nobody would be there, and the second place was when they got home, they live in mansion but the thing is that it was burned down and with their parents.
I listened to this book on audio. I can't say that I really understand the appeal. I just found the story upsetting more than anything. The performances were pretty good, though.
👻Really excited to get started on the Series of Unfortunate Events books!
👻I started reading The Collector months ago, but got bored and put it down. I'll just need to finish that right up!
👻I always read at least one Goosebumps book in October!

Fiction
Well sinces I'm only on chapter one the characters only affect each other because they are siblings. There names are Violet the oldest, Klaus the middle child, and Sunny the youngest, in the first chapter they only affect each other because all three are doing a test with something Violet had invented, but it was more like Klaus and Violet who tested it because Sunny is still a toddler.
Date: 10/03 - 10/03
Genre: Mystery
Why I chose this book is because I like mystery books and I also have already watched the show. I wanted to see what the similarities between the show and the book.
Amazing! When we decided to add the stackable #readathon points, we had no idea just how many events would be happening in the month of October! I keep finding more and more that I'd like to participate in, including #anunfortunatereadathon which is hosted by TheReadyReaders over on instagram. It includes a bingo board full of prompts!

Like so many kids of the nineties (and beyond!), I was a BIG fan of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Coming back to the first book in the series for my podcast was a reallllllyyyy interesting experience! The conversation on today‘s episode goes in many directions, but it kind of always comes back to one core question: how dark is *too* dark for kids? Listen in to see where we land! Link to listen in bio!
“They didn‘t understand it, but like so many unfortunate events in life, just because you don‘t understand it doesn‘t mean it isn‘t so“.
I loved it and can't wait to read the next one in the series! I really wish I had read this when I was younger. I watched the netflix show first but that didn't make the book any less enjoyable. The show and the book really capture what I love most about reading, books, and stories.
I remember these books started coming out in the late 90‘s. This was the series that really got me hooked on reading. 🙈 Anyone else love Lemony Snicket as a child? 😁❤️
Anybody want to re-read or read along with me with A Series of Unfortunate Events? I love this series and @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks and @OriginalCyn620 challenge of #3books made me think of this one. I would like to reread the whole series. I vote maybe an October start, and a few chapters a week as they are fairly easy to speed through. Let me know! Feel free to share! 😁 #unfortunatereadalong
Love this book! This will be a favorite children‘s book for me. I read it with my 11 year old for summer reading requirements. It was a second time through for me but worth it.
Very fun! Somehow hadn‘t read this series before but really enjoyed the audiobook. This series is always popular in my classroom library!!!
#weeklyforecast
With school coming back soon, I am hoping to get a few #middlegrade reads done to use as book talks!
I‘m so close to having the full collection! I only need 5,11,12&13. Although I‘m going to keep a look out for The Reptile Room (2) that is the matching edition. ♥️
