This one's been on my shelf for ages, and I'll admit it only got there because I liked the cover on the bargain table. Predictable, a little slow-going, but I enjoyed dwelling in the desert and the steady, campfire-story pace to it. Definitely a different take on magic than most fantasy books I've read. 🌟🌟🌟

I get where the author was going with the whole "everyone is nameless except the bad guy" but I felt totally disconnected throughout the story and the anonymity did not help. Beautifully written, but the pacing was way too slow and the action was over before it even started!

This isnt grabbing me the way I expected it to. I'm not at all invested in our main character and I'm about halfway through.. definitely going to finish it but probably won't continue with the series

I usually love the spoken storytelling style of writing that I find in few books, but this one didn't really resonate with me. The book seemed to be a similar pace throughout all of it and I ended up feeling very indifferent to the story. To be fair, I could definitely understand how someone could love this book. I do get the slight magic aspect it holds, but that's about it for the +'s in my book.

As pretty as the cover is for this book (on loan from the library & due in 8 days so it‘s getting bumped from the #TBR to #currentlyreading today), I actually like the title page better. 📖🧞‍♀️

I should know by now that magical books just don‘t do much for me, but I keep trying and I‘m usually unhappy with them. I wish I could say this was the exception but it isn‘t. I just don‘t love this genre. But if you do like fairytale retellings (this was 1001 Nights) with magical elements, you‘ll probably like this.

My husband and I are vacationing in Ecuador, and we are in the galapagos right now. Yesterday we swam with sea turtles, and I just had to share! I'm getting a good amount of reading in, since we have quite a bit of travel time between destinations. And we have such busy days that we are relaxing before bed, so even more reading! #travelreading

My #retellingbookswap package came a very far way yesterday. It has so many beyond thoughtful goodies in it. All the way to my garden gnomes to help me make my garden beautiful after Irma hit it. A Thousand Nights is hands down the most beautiful book I've ever seen. And little did you know four leaf clovers are very special to my husband and I. We met and later got engaged on St. Patrick's day. Thank you so much for every beautiful thing in it!!!

A Thousand Nights was a total cover buy and it's so aesthetically pleasing 😊😊

3⭐️maybe. This book was way too long and drawn out. It felt like it was never going to end. It didn't really get exciting til the last 20 pages. It's a retelling of 1001 Arabian Nights. I thought a while before I wrote my long review (on Goodreads) and determined I did not like the message of this book. This was a beautifully written book but it didn't quiet have me hooked! I was hoping for more...

I literally took this table out of the neighbors garbage. It took a lot of sanding (I couldn't save the Finnish and it had way too much water damage to refinish) many coats of paint and two weekends. I got most the table done last week and the leaf (at top) done last night. For the lead I had to blend the Mandela pattern. Now if only I had lights in the room this is going in.

This stinking book was soooooo slow. I finally finished it. I'm annoyed because it was slow and then wrapped up in a few pages. I need to think a while before I write a proper review.
