🎶Dream a little dream of me...🎶

1. Harry's nightmare of becoming Nagini and attacking Arthur Weasly left me shaken for days as a kid!
2. When planning my wedding, I would stress-dream that the wedding would occur with only what I had finished planning at that point (Photographer but no DJ, empty church since I hadn't send invitations, I wore a dress but my husband's tux wasn't fitted yet...)
3. It's lazy, I always feel lied to. 😂

BookmarkTavern My dad read me that book when it came out as a bed time story. When I tell you I didn‘t sleep the night he read that chapter, I didn‘t sleep at all! 😂 Thanks for posting! 3y

Exactly the kind of well-written, twisty-turny plot I needed to get me out of a reading slump. The beautiful and foreboding setting looms over you while reading like a dark raincloud about to burst. Parts feel a little contrived but mostly points out how one selfish, corrupt person can destroy so many lives without technically killing anyone.

beeweird Also since the groom was conveniently not among the POV switches, I suspected him early on 👀 still surprised by what a wretch he turned out to be and pleased with where he ended up. 🎂 3y

Many of Philip Wylie's works were the inspiration for beloved comic book heroes like Superman, Captain America, and the Human Torch. In classic comic book fashion, victory ultimately came by punching the bad guys in the face - but man, was it satisfying. Loved the prose and steady building of tension/despair as well. 4🌟

Cute, wrapped in layers of Austen, no loose ends. I was surprised by how much of a role grief played in the story (I could have used a trigger warning, honestly), but in many ways, what was said to Adeline was what I also needed to hear. Even if you don't like Austen, this is a great "Books (and reading) Are Awesome" story. ????

Listening to a story set in a quaint village while stitching a quaint village!

I've never been much of an audiobook person but I just might make a habit of this. Helps that it's narrated by Richard Armitage. 💙🎧

This one's been on my shelf for ages, and I'll admit it only got there because I liked the cover on the bargain table. Predictable, a little slow-going, but I enjoyed dwelling in the desert and the steady, campfire-story pace to it. Definitely a different take on magic than most fantasy books I've read. 🌟🌟🌟

This brief but powerful story weaves the lives of five family members with Colombian myths as it plumbs the depths of "home," whether that's a place or people. The chapters are short and affecting. I ache for those who have lived similar experiences. ?????

Batterson encourages readers to put more faith in the strength of their God than in the strength of the "lions" in their lives - whatever fears or obstacles might be in their way. Love the message and it's given me plenty to chew on, but the writing was at times trite and repetitive. Would have worked better as a sermon series. Took me months to finish because I couldn't get thru more than two chapters at a time. ???.5

I love the world Hartman built for this series - but there was A LOT of politics going on that amounted to plot clutter. Unlike with Seraphina, I could guess big plot points and was frustrated that the main character couldn't see what I saw (for like 400 pages!). A little disappointed in the ending. Still a fun read. 3.5 stars.

This is radically different from the kinds of books I normally read, so it was difficult for me to get started. Once I made it about halfway through (into the thick of outlaw-ing), I really enjoyed it and was - surprisingly - satisfied with the end. 💰💰🐴📙

May has a quiet, certain, lyrical writing voice - one I feel resonates more after reading her essay "Song," where she learns to regain her physical voice. I drank in this book like a thirsty potted plant. Currently in the darkest personal winter I've yet to face, it helped in a small way, gave some of my thoughts & feelings a shape.

Saw this title first here - thanks Littens for the recommendation. ??❄?

In between jobs now, this dreamy meditation on one's career and how much it really matters was lovely. Finished last night and different parts of it keep coming back to me today - much like the narrator turns over important events long after they've happened. 🎨🖌📚

I gave this an honest go for old time's sake, and genuinely enjoyed the descriptions of vampire life - the Cullens' complicated history, the drama and danger just in being around Bella. The final hunt at the end was especially fun - I made sure I was able to read the last 200 pages in one sitting.

But Edward is 👏SO👏SELFISH👏 and despite pages and pages of him saying how much he loved her, his actions made that love so superficial. Not a fan.

I'd found this at a bookstore while on vacation, read the first few pages in the aisle there, and was so charmed by the narrator that I thought, "Sure, I'll follow you to Peru." I'm so glad I did. This story was refreshing and original, written in prose that glows softly like the clockwork lamps that illuninate the village of Bedlam. Appreciated the easter egg at the end, as well. I'll certainly keep my eye on this author. ????❤

Of course I enjoyed it, it's Skulduggery--but this one was a bit too political for me. Certain characters felt forced, and others are, well, different from earlier books in the series. Was pleased to welcome Omen Darkly to the story, though. 🌟🌟🌟.75
