I hit my reading goal for 2018 - so until the end of the year, I am trying to read books that I have really been wanting to read but for some reason hadn't gotten to yet. I started with The Hate U Give, which I absolutely loved and finished in one sitting. Now I am starting Pachinko!

So last week I was with my cousin's kids, Joey took a nap on me and his older brother AJ snuggled up so I could read to him from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. AJ delighted in looking at the beautiful illustrations and guessing what combinations of animals made up the magical beasts. But when I left, AJ insisted that I take the book home with me because it was "too scary" for him to keep in his room! #harrypotter #magic

My husband and I are vacationing in Ecuador, and we are in the galapagos right now. Yesterday we swam with sea turtles, and I just had to share! I'm getting a good amount of reading in, since we have quite a bit of travel time between destinations. And we have such busy days that we are relaxing before bed, so even more reading! #travelreading

This book is fascinating! I am really enjoying the in depth look at how authors write. Even though there are a lot of stats in this book, it's very easy to read and quite entertaining. I feel like I have learned a lot!

I really enjoyed this book! I didn't find the mystery elements to be very surprising, but I think that the main strength of the book was the portrayal of relationships. The main characters had a very complicated, really intertwined relationship and it was very relatable and interesting.

When I was shopping for #cupidgoespostal, I managed to find a few books for myself! I buy anything I find by @ChrisBohjalian and Ian McEwan, because I always enjoy their work. And @Josie posted a bunch of great reviews for Tell the Wolves I'm Home, so I had to buy it. #bookstack #minihaul

Happy to be home with our kitty, even though vacation was wonderful! I read this book on one of the [many] planes home yesterday, and I really loved it. I got it on NetGalley, but I believe it was recently published. It was beautifully written and I enjoyed all of the characters and relationships. #netgalley #planereading

This was the view from one of our last hotels of our vacation, Mount Fitz Roy as seen from the EcoDomes in El Chalten. We went on a day hike, and when we got back it started storming so hard the clouds completely obscured the mountain view. It wasn't a bad thing - I got to curl up in our Dome with the fire roaring and read a book! Finished Graceling in almost one sitting...only stopped to eat dinner. Hiking and reading - the perfect day!

Had a bus ride today, so I finished this book, which is what I had started before the hike. I felt okay about it, it was interesting enough that I felt compelled to keep reading but I don't know that I ended up loving it. It was entertaining, so full marks for that. (The picture is of Glacier Grey, the third biggest in the world! We saw that the last day of the W trek)

Picked this book up from a free box at a hotel the day before our trek. Ended up leaving it behind this morning because I didn't like it enough to carry it's weight. Now it is waiting at a refugio for the next person who needs a book! #hikingwithbooks

We visited La Chascona today, the house Pablo Neruda built with his third wife, Matilde. They had quite a variety of art from around the world. He was a fascinating figure - in addition to winning the Nobel prize in literature, he was also very politically active in Chile. #pabloneruda #nobel #poetry

I walked by this tiny library yesterday - it is located in a sculpture park! There were a lot of people lounging on the grass in the park reading, enjoying the beautiful weather. Too bad it was closed, I would have loved to go inside! #outdoorlibrary #santiago

We took a 7 hour bus ride today from Mendoza, Argentina to Santiago, Chile. The views were stunning almost the entire way, so I went back and forth from reading and looking out the window. Even though it was long, it was probably one of the most pleasant bus rides I've ever been on.

My husband humored me and we went to a Harry Potter themed coffee shop! It was really cute, the theme was not overwhelming, just little touches.

My husband and I are on our honeymoon -Argentina and Chile for 3 weeks! Right by our airbnb in Buenos Aires is El Ateneo Grand Splendid - one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world! It is a converted theater; it was absolutely gorgeous. We did some browsing, but didn't sit and read at all....mainly because then we would have fallen asleep in public from the exhaustion of traveling here from Boston!

Opened my #secretsanta from @Sonia_C this morning- thank you! So many goodies...yummy smelling lavender soap, cute puppy stickies, a bookmark and Starbucks Via! (That's going to be great for my morning commute!) And of course the main event, a book from my TBR! I can't wait to read it...it's set in Scotland, which is probably one of my favorite places to read about! Thanks for setting this all up, @the_alternate_ending_library
