Another 10 at of 10 this book is just as good as his lst one in this series called Red sparrow
I couldn't resist picking this series back up in light of recent news about the Russian mega-hack of U.S. Federal agencies. The world of espionage is scary and fascinating!
Another fast paced, action packed thriller through the streets of Moscow, Paris, Athens & Washington DC! The second in the Red Sparrow trilogy, this novel brings more danger and intrigue for the hero & heroine and keeps the reader furiously turning the pages until its conclusion. Written by a retired CIA officer, and it shows. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
(I‘m curious to know what others have thought about one thing - see spoiler comment below. 👇)
Ok. Serious reading time. No distractions. I WILL finish this book today (maybe). 120 pages to go. 👍🏻
My reading partner on this cold & blustery day. ❤️📚🐶 Trying to finish this one in the next day or two. My Bookly app says I have over 5 hours left to read. #dogsoflitsy #poodlesoflitsy #readingpartner
“Beware of Female Spies” (purchased at the Spy Museum in Washington, DC)
My bookmark matches my book! And boy does Domi, the female spy in this series, kick ass!
Finished with the chiropractor and a quick trip to the grocery so we can have a fun dinner on this FRIDAY! Now I‘m giving myself, and my back, the gift of a couple hours of this! I‘m off duty until the kids get home from school in 2.5 hours. 😊📚❤️
2 hour delay for the kids this AM & extra laundry from a snowy weekend mean I didn‘t have time for you before work. 🙁 I have to take my car to the emissions testing station this afternoon, then go to a chiropractor appointment, then make dinner for the family & head to a book club get together with my BFFs. I may not have time for you today at all. 😢 Hoping for a line at the emissions station...just a short one. 😉👍🏻📚
It‘s a winter wonderland today! We have about 3”-4” already and are expecting a total of 5”-8” before this storm moves out later today. This is how I plan to spend my day! 📚☕️❄️❤️
Christmas is packed away, mostly. Just have to take the lights off the tree and take it out tomorrow, then put the boxes away. This is my reward for de-Christmas-ing the house today, plus a glass of wine (not pictured). 😉📚🍷
I sprained my back 6 weeks ago. Restricted activity & chiropractor/PT 3 x a week, and my back has been doing SO well. But today I overdid it. Grocery shopping is on the restricted list, but I HAD to go. Birthday dinner to make and snow coming tomorrow... Then I put away some Christmas decor which involved bending and lifting. Now I‘m on the couch with ice, my book & my coffee within reach. I‘ll be here until its time to make dinner. 😉🤷♀️
Diving right into the second book in the Red Sparrow trilogy. My 13 year old daughter gave me this one for Christmas (she picked it up at the local 5 Below). Planning on getting the final book from the library so I can finish out the series, once I finish this one. 😊❤️📚
This was excellent. It's the second in the Red Sparrow series. It reminds me of old school Robert Ludlum. 💖📚
This was such a phenomenal second book in the series! The thrills were there, I got so angry I wanted to throw the book, my heart beat quickly to the romance, ah, it was just wonderful!
With a long work day and then the Dodger game, didn‘t get too much reading in. #readathon @DeweysReadathon
I have to work today so I won‘t get a full day of reading in. Here‘s my #readathon buddy with my Kindle full of books. I‘m going to listen to Palace of Treason on my way to work.
One of those books that keeps you on your toes and tries to helps you forget about the real world for a while.
This is the second book in the Red Sparrow trilogy. The author, who worked for the CIA, knows his stuff. The plot is fast-paced, the characters fully developed and the tension is almost palpable at times. However, he does resort to a great many acronyms, which are distracting, and he is heavy into tradecraft. However, the strangest thing is each chapter ends with a recipe. What is that all about? Although it‘s an terrific thriller, it is flawed.
I didn't think this one was as good as Red Sparrow but I loved the auras and Putin as a character, wow. Finding the food/recipes element to feel extremely forced especially in audio.
I went to see the film Red Sparrow this weekend and wanted to finally read the second book. Kind of funny to see some characters dead who weren't and alive who were killed! And Putin as a character is fascinating through Domenika's aura-reading perspective. Not very far in.
Single digit or negative digit temperatures call for hot cocoa, a book and a blanket. Spent some time over the weekend cuddled up with what will be my first book in 2018! And I put my @LazyOwl penpal letter in the mail to @ephemeralwaltz - sorry it took so long! New Year resolution to respond more quickly! #penpal #litsyfriends
I just listened to Palace of Treason, the sequel to Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews. An exciting spy thriller full of details of spy craft. It involves the tension between the USA and Russia and Putin, not quite straight out of the current news but a good mirror. The characters are so well written. The audio production fantastic. Be prepared for some explicit torture, violence and sex. This is a good one if you love spy stories.
