So many literary and historical connections in here. The first poem had me floored because it reminded me so much of LEMONADE and Warsan Shire‘s poetry in it.
Is it finally time to read the last book in the Lady Julia Grey series?
I think it might be. Heavens help me.
Current poetry read!
I read this so quickly but it was because on every page, I felt like Oliver found me and wrote my thoughts. I used two of the poems in my husband‘s anniversary card for this year.
I bought the second before I finished this one!!
Love. I love how poetry is always new and every collection I read teaches me something.
Love Smith and the heaviness and reality of her work.
I LOVED the voice of Fabiola in this book, and the realness of the story and situation, as heartbreaking as it is.
A bit too much of the “God” stuff in here for me, but Oliver‘s poetry is still beautiful and amazing and I love it.
A book I‘d consider teaching for the Shakespeare references alone, not to mention character development and structure!
Been working on this one a while; should finish tonight!
Started this book in January and finished it today...because one must take time with poetry. And because, you know, life.
As always, I LOVE Veronica and Stoker, and of course Deanna and her writing. Excelsior!
SO good for so many reasons. The characters, the 2nd person, the relationships, all of it.
First book of 2019. Poetry. So many tabs. So many lines that took my breath away. So good.
Loved this collection. Such interesting perspectives on so many difference things.
Seriously. Can‘t stop won‘t stop.
Interesting retelling of Snow White! I liked it!
Finally finished. Next book is here and 2nd in line! Can‘t wait!!
So good and thought-provoking. My jaw dropped a couple of times. I can see why people love Butler and this will not be the last book of hers I read.
I just thought it was so dry. Maybe the time of year (back to school) I read it? I can see why many people like it but just not for me now.
Oh Atwood. Oh, dear Atwood. Why do you mess with my head this way?? And how do I still love you after??
