I would have bailed on this if it were not so short and a book club pick. The writing style is the type that gives me a headache. At times it was like reading a list.

@dabbe #ThreeListThursday
My three favorites and ones that I still read are.
1. Beowulf
2. Canterbury Tales
3. Don Quixote
This was a spooky YA where the author did an amazing job with blending her world with real history in and about northern CA. There was one place where she was talking about railroads and I knew she had taken the Korbel tour.
The second in the series a bit more mystery, and a bit more love added.
While gory I loved the story of Sam! #AuldLangSpine @WildAlaskaBibliophile thank you adding this one to the list.
This was picked by @WildAlaskaBibliophile for one of my #AuldLangSpine books. This was just adorable! I loved how it ended, and I loved the work the character put in himself. @monalyisha
This was a DNF for me at 86 pages. I felt no connection with the character, and just had no interest in her story.
This was for the #roll100 challenge it was number 80 on my list. I am giving it a so-so as the writing style was not my favorite. However, the story was amazing.
Meh. This was published in 2016 and was written more like a text book. I was hoping it was more layman friendly, also having octopus in the title is a bit misleading. He spent more time on cuttlefish.
On a spring morning in 2009, Matthew Lawrence dropped the anchor of his small boat at a random spot in the middle of a blue ocean bay on the east coast of Australia, and jumped over the side. #FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl
This book would be a good companion read with Why Are you So Sensitive by Billie Lee and Gina Torino.
#LiteraryCrew #buddyread
As someone who bakes this book was great. I laughed and cried. I would like to know more about Molly. @WildAlaskaBibliophile thank you for adding this to #auldlangspine.
@PuddleJumper I did it. I joined the #Roll100 now I just have to make my list! I also joined it on #TheStorygraph.
Has anyone else signed up for any of the #TheStorygraph reading challenges? I have four that I have signed up for. The 2025 reading goal, January page‘s challenge, the genre and reads the world one.
This is for #AuldLangSpine. @WildAlaskaBibliophile here is a getting to know me. I picked up A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking from the library yesterday!
@monalyisha I thought you might want to see this too. It was fun to do.
I am so excited for #AuldLangSpine with @WildAlaskaBibliophile. She has sent me a list of 20 books to read. Out of the list I have read the tagged book, and Weyward. One of my goals this year is to get more books from the library, I am going to try to read from the bottom of the list to the top:
The list is in the comments.
Thank you to @monalyisha for hosting this!
Thank you @Christine this is all so amazing. I can‘t wait to read this book.
Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for running #jolabokaflodswap again.
This was a great gothic mystery. It is set in the 1920‘s so there is a bit of tech in the story.
The mystery in this was rather interesting and to left an opening for follow up books.
I signed up for #auldlangspine2025. This looks like a blast the sign up is on @monalyisha
I loved the short stories in here. I went in blind and found out that several of my favorite authors contributed.
I learned so much from this little book. It was amazing. At 128 pages it is well worth the read. I also added three new quotes to my quote journal from this book!
This book is just fascinating.
Just look at what Lego is releasing!
A short book, with short tales of micro aggressions and how to respond to some of them. Reading this will help understand what exactly is a micro aggression.
@JessieKB thank you so much! I love my box.
@Avanders @Chrissyreadit thank you for hosting the #FFFS #Fallingforfallswap
So good. This was so good.
The book I am reading is not in Litsy.
Changeling by Kiri Callaghan
“Alys had lost the time.”
@ShyBookOwl
This was an amazing book. To be honest I almost did not read it, I had downloaded the audiobook but the narrator was not for me. The print book was much better.
I also had to google a lot of the Latin names and the print book allowed for me to get the spelling correct.
Starts out slow and confusing. It does get into a story line but I am still confused as to what is happening.
A good start to a cozy mystery. Little to no romance so I enjoyed that.
Not bad for a cozy mystery. The supernatural element really had no bearing on the story.
Last night we say Amy Stewart. She was funny and the room was filled with people who love or collect trees.
In all honesty I know I read this but I cannot remember a thing about it. I had to go back and look at the book. The art work is not my style, and I forgot what the stories were about.
This was a fast mystery not mystery book. I don‘t know how else to describe it.
Mostly art but some of the stories are very thought provoking.
