Excited for #auldlangspine2025!

Is it overkill to check out all these now? Yes. But it feeds my winter hoarding impulse, so I went with it.

I might (will) have to cheat and start Frozen River before Jan 1, because it has a list of holds. (I‘m honestly surprised I got it already.) I figure this is allowable because ~technically~ it wasn‘t on your official #auldlangspine list 😉

monalyisha I totally didn‘t see this. Or, I did. I just didn‘t see the part about Frozen River. Wait, what was I talking about? My mind is suddenly cloudy… 9h
TheKidUpstairs Great stack! 9h
CSeydel @monalyisha That‘s the spirit! 9h

CBee @CSeydel you‘ve got some good reading ahead 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5h
Lesliereadsalot I have read Fresh Water for Flowers and loved it. Also loved her book “Three”. That one had some real twists! 3h
CBee @Lesliereadsalot I have that one and hope to get to it next year (finally). I just love her. 13m
CBee @CSeydel btw I went ahead and got a few of the books on your list for cheap on Thriftbooks 😊 I got Goodbye, Vitamin, To Say Nothing of the Dog, and Things in Jars 👏🏻 10m

This chaotic graphic is an accurate representation of my reading life currently, but delighted with @Singout ‘s #AuldLangSpine list. I‘ve read 1-2-7-11-14-17 and every one of the others I‘ve not read sound right up my alley. In fact 3 I‘ve had on my list. However 2 are completely new to me. Love all the NF! I‘m off to place library holds, focusing on the ones pictured. Thanks to the master matchmaker @monalyisha #ALSpine #AuldLangSpine2025

Chelsea.Poole And one I‘m already on hold for at the library via audio for a couple weeks! It‘s meant to be! So I‘ll probably start with 2w
TheKidUpstairs @monalyisha I just looked at that one and immediately thought "Alyisha definitely stacked that!" So up your alley! 2w

I just finished listening to this and loved it! It‘s a clever, snarky, darkly humorous whodunnit. The audio has multiple narrators (all excellent) and it really brings the podcast element to life. Highly recommend!

KadaGul I have a copy and one ☝️of reads for #AuldLangSpine2025. 2w

What a fascinating #AuldLangSpine2025 #ALS list from @JoeMo ! Titles in red are books I've already read. Titles in blue are books I already own, so I will likely start with one of them in January.

Title in green is already on my TBR. I'm intrigued by the book about Siskel and Ebert. Honest disclosure: I don't intend to read anything with the words “Donald“ or “Trump in it for the rest of my life, if I can manage it. 😖 So probably not #14.

TheBookHippie Solidarity on that. 🚫🙈🙉⛔️ 2w
Amiable @TheBookHippie The Land of Denial is going to be my temporary residence for the next few years. 2w
TheBookHippie @Amiable I wish I could. 2w
Megabooks The Alberta is an amazing book! I hope you get to it! 1w

#AuldLangSpine2025 @monalyisha
@JamieArc thanks for creating this excellent list! I haven't read any of these. It looks like we both exchanged Percival Everett picks - I'm excited to read James based on the buzz it's been getting. I have some ideas about which I'll choose - definitely North Woods and Tom Lake. I've never read Due, but I just bought The Between last month. Also intrigued by #s 9 and 10. Can't wait to get started in 2025!

squirrelbrain What a great list! ❤️ 2w
monalyisha I‘m desperately hoping to read 10 with my IRL book club this coming year. We‘re in the process of voting on books right now, so fingers crossed! 🤞🏻 2w
Billypar @monalyisha I never even heard of it until now, but it sounds like it's getting a lot of positive attention! 2w

JamieArc @monalyisha @Billypar The Safekeep is a fairly short read, if that helps you get to it 😊 1w
BkClubCare Oh. Just got to the last section of The Safekeep 😳😳😳😳 1w
Billypar @JamieArc My attention span and reading speed are both not great, so short is definitely a selling point. And I'm intrigued by @BkClubCare 's reaction to the end 😀 1w
BkClubCare @Billypar - I am listening and honestly it doesn‘t feel like a short book. I am not done yet - but yeah, this last section was not expected (also, I try never to read blurbs and didn‘t know anything about the plot) 1w

Okay Carrie, I‘m excited! And I gave you double this amount on my list 🫢🫢😂😂 (I can never narrow it down). I‘ve read #6 and #10 (loved both), but none of the others 👏🏻 I‘ll start with I‘m Sorry You Feel That Way since I bought it recently (have you read Our Fathers by Wait? Excellent book). Yay! @CSeydel
#auldlangspine2025 #ALSpine2025

CBee @monalyisha as always, thank YOU for your hard work!! 2w
monalyisha Of course! I haven‘t read the Jess Kidd title on your list but I loved the tagged. Also, The Road to Dalton popped up on a few lists & I think it looks amazing! 2w
CSeydel @cbee I did read Our Fathers! That‘s what spurred me to get I‘m Sorry You Feel That Way. It was a very different story but the writing was again excellent - the characters truly feel like living, breathing people. 2w

CSeydel @CBee I had a sort of meh reading year this year, and many of my favorite books were either niche nonfiction or part of a series, so they didn‘t feel suitable to recommend blindly. But if you want more choices, I can suggest some additional titles! 2w
CBee @monalyisha thanks for the additional rec! I‘m excited 😊 2w
CBee @CSeydel same for me, I bought it right after I read Our Fathers 😊👏🏻 2w
CBee @CSeydel I‘d love that! If you want to start an email correspondence we can - I‘m at cydneybean@gmail.com. I actually have another book I read right after I made my list that I wanted to mention too. 2w
Amiable “Being Mortal” is a wonderfully written work. 2w
CBee @Amiable I‘m going to check that one out on audio! 2w
CSeydel Oh it looks like I didn‘t put All the Sinner Bleed on my list, but since you enjoyed Blacktop Wasteland you might want to check it out! 2w
CSeydel @Amiable He‘s an excellent writer. It was so powerful! 2w
CBee @CSeydel I have that one! I‘ve read all of his books except Sinners. He‘s fantastic! 2w
CSeydel @CBee 👍🏻🤩 2w

When @monalyisha paired me with @xicanti for #AuldLangSpine I was excited because I love seeing Memory's posts and reviews, we seem to have the same taste in books. This list proves it! I've already read and loved #'s 2, 3, 5, 6, 11, & 12. I've had 7, 9, 13, & 15 on my TBR so those will definitely be priority, but I'm also stoked about the rest which are new to me!

xicanti I hope you find new stuff to love! I think we‘re both in for some excellent reading. 2w

I love this list from @Mollyanna - it has a bit of all the things I love and I‘ve only read one of them! I will probably start with the 3 I already own, and I will definitely read The Ravenmaster. I may try to read the first five Phoebe and her Unicorn books this month, to catch up to the one on the list. They look like nice palate cleansers/escapist reads. Then I‘ll have to throw the rest in a hat to decide what to read next. #auldlangspine2025

LiteraryinPA I loooove Phoebe and her Unicorn. Perfect charming reads for any season! 2w
Mollyanna I am so glad you like the list. I highly recommend the audiobook for Queen Hereafter. 2w
