Look Ma, no hands! Love my Bookseat. And this doggie butt, and this book. #amreading

Me: I'm going to focus on reading longer books, and books I own, and adult books for a while.
Also me: here's my library stack.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Our garden apartment in the Mission has a private patio and our host left us local beer. Does it get any better? #vacation #SanFrancisco
About to start this. I'll forgive it being 500+ pages because that cover is 🔥
When your husband goes into the giant crowded store to buy fireworks, so you set up shop in the shady parking lot grass. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 🐶
Found this The Handmaid's Tale reference in my Vol. 1 re-read before I start Vol. 2. Note to self: probably not the best idea to be watching this show and reading this comic in the same day.
Really excited to dive into my new Sarah Dessen (as always), but also a bit concerned about this misspelling on the blurbs. Jodi! How does that happen?
Especially when this was free on Audible, I feel like this audiobook really took Litsy by storm, and that's definitely what pushed me to read it sooner. (Also not sure why I'm on such an audiobook rec kick this weekend!)
#GRABBYHANDS @Liberty
It might not be the definite weirdest book I've read, but it was the first to come to mind and it definitely ranks up there. The audiobook is fantastic for this one, too.
I've pushed this to patrons with the promise of animal parts sewn onto humans, and anyone who bites at that description should come sit next to me.
#COMEONEILEEN @Liberty
A teacher put this in my hands when I was 14 and I'm not sure I've ever recovered. 😵 #SEEWHATIHAVEWON @Liberty
This is probably my favorite mystery of the year so far, although it's very non-traditional for the genre. But it's gripping and twisty and you never know where it's taking you. The audiobook narrator is one of the best I've heard, and oh hey, it's on sale right now. #GONEBABYGONE #YAYAY1 @Liberty
Currently reading #THUG, which of course is reminding me about this other fantastic book about BLM and teens. I like how both of these stories focus on the people around the victims and the after effects on them of such horrifying incidents. #ALEXGIVEAWAY @Liberty
Trying to finish this one in my in-laws' sunroom before family obligations pull me away. #amreading
Sometimes you're walking the dog past a Little Free Library and you've just gotta grab that book, so you stick it in your sweatshirt pocket and keep walking. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
♫ Who-oa we're halfway there ♫
12 books through the #ReadHarder challenge! This is my third year doing this challenge but my first year actually, ahem, planning ahead, and it's much smoother this way 😏
I laughed and I laughed. What a delight, especially for those of us very in the book world. So many joyful literary references, but not in a snobbish way.
Despite growing up basically at the ocean, Mal expresses my true feelings about water. 💦
The frequency with which I find Hamilton lyrics in books is approaching absurdity.
Roxane Gay in the glow of the stained glass. She was on stage 3 seconds before apologizing to the church for her language. 😄
Dear dude playing harmonica in the library: could you not. Worth it for these beauties though! #libraryhaul
It's February in Maryland, and I'm outside reading a book. Couldn't be happier. Bonus: no bugs 😀

This is a reread for the #ReadHarder challenge. I think about this book all the time, and it seems even more terrifying now than it did on my first read 2 years ago.
"Scratch that. No good news. Everything sucks." This Hawkeye-shaped censor just about did me in.

Continuation of my piles to go to Little Free Libraries (2/2)... farewell books, enjoy your new homes. 🏠
It took me all of 30 seconds to clear my shelves of these books, destined for nearby Little Free Libraries. Either read and don't want to reread/loan, never going to read let's be real, or if I really want to read I can get some other way.
Some of these are in terrible condition because they were already used when I got them. It feels good to let go of a few... why am I keeping these anyway? (1/2)
Oh hai, Baal.
Variant art from Vol. 4 of WicDiv, which I enjoyed immensely more than Vol. 3. Glad I decided to stick it out with this series.
If this doesn't convince you to pick up this comic, I don't know what will. 😉
🎶 Who lives, who dies, who tells your story 🎶
You were all correct, this book is intense and heartbreaking and moving. I absolutely love the structure and how Gyasi manages to create such strong attachments in so few pages.
I have about 4 stories left... #saturdaynightplans
I was not at all expecting to love this so much! I picked this up because I wanted to support Chelsea Cain, but thought it would be too action-packed for me.
Instead, it totally won me over with humor, science, Hamilton references, and baby Groot. Not to mention a badass lead superhero.
You've got my ❤, Mockingbird.
When your Wednesdays are not-so-wild (but so great). Highly recommend this deck-builder to all Harry Potter fans, I'm obsessed.
Last night, 2 very holiday-ed out people finished this 1000 piece puzzle I got from a @bookriot mailbag box. I can't wait to frame it!
Bonus audiobook review: loved this story and the narrator did a perfect job with it. I had a hard time keeping track of who was who, but otherwise a good choice for audio.
I returned the audio to Overdrive before I remembered to transcribe a section early on about being a rule follower but also being defiant, and it was wonderful. So if by chance you have this in print and would like to share that quote with me, I'd love you forever. Anna Kendrick is my celebrity doppelganger and she very much gets me.
Ugh. As we all know, November was a tough month. Unsurprisingly, my reading total is at half its usual.
But I did read two really excellent books: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty (loved it on audio) and The Inquisitor's Tale by Adam Gidwitz (do this in print for the illustrated manuscript style).
#wrapup #november
I had processed 4 of these before realizing these were in place of author photos on the back covers. The cat, Sneaky Pie Brown, is also given cowriting credit. 😅
These look like the perfect ingredients for a night in to me. 😄 This is my first time reading Watchmen ( @bookriot Read Harder challenge: published in the decade you were born). So far, I'm enjoying the beer more than the book, but we'll see how it goes.
Riley and I are both really enjoying this middle grade historical fiction, told in the style of the Canterbury Tales, with different characters each telling a portion of the story. Plus there's a holy revered dog. Can't wait to find out what these kids did.

I absolutely loved this on audio. Gripping and funny with a fantastic Australian accent, it's exactly what I want out of audiobooks. I particularly loved the narrator's reading of "oh, calamity!" and "MUMMY!"
I saw a preview for the HBO series coming out next year (which I hadn't realized was happening). The cast is great so I am really looking forward to that. God bless Reese Witherspoon and her one-woman mission to adapt all the books.
Overall I was really not a fan of this book. It felt very flippant and non-self-aware. I'm not entirely sure why I finished it. I did enjoy this reminiscence of childhood sleepovers though.
#foodmemoir
#tbt Looks like I was busy this time last year. I think that's partly because I was in the last week of a miserable job, so I sat at my desk reading all day 😅
#graphicnovels
I got this book from the library for a specific recipe that kept getting mentioned on @bookriot podcasts and giving me cravings. I'm clearly in above my head here. But I have to admire the dedication of this fridge shot.
#cookbook #amreading
I'm putting this audiobook out on a teen display, and if it doesn't fly I will be disappointed. One of the best audiobooks I have listened to, hands down. If you want to get all wrapped up in some feelings, grab this.
When you tryna take a picture but Reginald's neon glow takes over 😃 Thanks everyone for an amazing and cathartic weekend 💜💛❤ #BRLive #BookRiotLive #ReginaldthePigeon @rach_simone @bookriot
#BklynBookMatch managed to rec 4 books for me that I've never read! Anyone love one of these? #BRLive #BookRiotLive
"Bookended with sex." Everything is going well here. #GetBooked #BRLive #BookRiotLive @bookriot @jadechang
Getting ready to drive up for #BookRiotLive today, and have this perfect combo of fluff and intrigue cued up on audio. Bonus: the author shares my first name. I think this will be exactly what we all need this weekend. Excited to meet some of you!
