Very different Hawkeye than the one in the Marvel movies. Interesting story and good graphics.

Absolutely gleeful to see Aja take the reins as the illustrator for the second half of this volume (not all issues, but most). First half is the same collection as My Life as a Weapon, the rest is the next issues in this series written by Matt Fraction. 1/2
Okay, I totally get it. Hawkeye feels like a character who never got his due in the movies, but this gives me everything Tumblr and MCU fanfic hinted at for this character. I love the way Fraction writes Barton. I definitely prefer the way David Aja draws him (issues 1-3). I'll be honest and say I skipped the Young Avengers issue tacked onto the end - just not my vibe. Will be seeking out the collected volumes for this series from my library.
My heart! 🥰🥹
Love that he just blasts past how obvious that name would be for an avenger who uses a bow. 🏹
Oohhh, Ivan...🫣
I forgot to share yesterday‘s full box from my Kate Bishop planner spread and it‘s too cute to skip.
I love Clint Barton and I love Matt Fraction.
I think about this panel a lot.
HAWKEYE reread?

This appears to be an unpopular opinion, but I didn‘t enjoy this graphic novel at all. I wasn‘t a fan of the illustrations and I found it hard to follow the story. I think it was more a bunch of stories all loosely tied together. I didn‘t know much about Hawkeye outside of the Avengers films, and I like him in those but he seemed different in this graphic novel.

A superhero with no superpowers on a superhero team but very much a lone wolf. Hawkeye always fascinated me—much like Batman without all the psychosis—because he risked so much more than any of the other Avengers. He is a fragile human, not an alien, not a super soldier, not a millionaire encased in iron. A fragile human. In harms way willingly.
Sundays are for hiking and Hawkeye ⛰🏹💜
(Can‘t believe it took me so long to get around to this series but the whole run is on hoopla so I‘ll be finishing fast now!)
I don't know why I haven't read this before now. I've rectified the issue. It's great.
I'm working on a Kate Bishop planner layout that's absolutely gonna incorporate this panel, for obvious reasons. #drive #anditsaugust
HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY SINCE I STARTED READING COMICS 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 first one I ever read was Hawkeye v. 1 by Fraction/Aja this time last year. My life was changed by this series. I went from knowing nothing about comics to becoming an amateur comic aficionado. Comics and graphic novels are the majority of what I read now, and I couldn't be happier. Happy comicversary everyone 🎉💜
Overall ok, but totally worth for the first three issues!
Really loved the first three books of this volume, especially the 70s feel if the car chase.
Comics Hawkeye is so much better than movies Hawkeye. Especially written by Matt Fraction.
"Scratch that. No good news. Everything sucks." This Hawkeye-shaped censor just about did me in.

Breaking News: All I care about are ladies and the works of Matt Fraction. #favoritegraphicnovels #booktober
Went into a comic store for the first time and every guy who worked there were the most patronizing assholes to me, they go "have you ever read a comic before?" whilst I'm flipping through a whole series I've already read, then I tell them about some I read they go "oh those are really girly they aren't good, read these instead" *names off comics that only feature white men* and kept calling me "little girl" LIKE CAN U NOT
#funfridayphoto - sports and books. Again!! I can only use my "Reading = Sport" argument so many times (ok it was only one time). But since that post i haven't added sports books to my repertoire. So instead here is Hawkeye doing what he does. After all, archery is an Olympic sport. Um, right? #readingisasport
I completely understand why people recommended this run to me.
Wow, Hawkeye is so much cooler here than in the movies. They really sold the character short in the films.
First comic I've ever read and honestly brilliant, A+
"Okay...this looks bad. Really...really bad. But believe it or not...it's only the third most-terrible idea I've had today and today I have had exactly nine terrible ideas." Gtfo guys I'm crying this book is hilarious. Christ. I'm pissed that the movies totally fucked Hawkeye out of his character.
Okay okay. I've just started to read it now. I'm stuck on a 6+ hour train ride so I'm trying to get some reading in before I play a computer game the rest of the time. All hail Hawkeye.
Found these at the library and I'm barricading myself in my room to read them. Bye civilization
I couldn't wait to pick up these books from the library today. Starting Hawkeye now!
It's crappy out, so the kitty babies and I are staying home with Clint Barton, the non-super Avenger. Did you know he was a carnie?
This really is the best comic of recent years. Not only is it very well written is extremely well drawn, in a vintage way. I love their use of moderation and minimalistic color. 4/5.
Currently on a graphic novel binge and checked the first few volumes out of the library. When Clint Barton isn't being an Avenger, he still gets himself in some sticky situations!
