My first Backman had me bawling at page 11. Maybe this cute cupcake bookmark will help? #goodcry
Giving me the inspiration feelings.
Please read to me forever, Shonda Rhimes.
So many notes and dog ears for such a small book. This one got repetitive at times but so many good things to think about, too.
LOVING THIS BOOK.
So much fun so far. #boutofbooks
Finishing out one of my favorite series (Tiffany Aching) seems like the right way to end 2016. With practical strength, grace, and hella fine writing. I'll start 2017 with Hope in the Dark.
Let's do this.
Now. Now. Now. Read it now. The infuriating part is that so much of this is still true. If I can find some cheap copies I'll be quietly, subversively sharing it with some neighbors on Christmas Eve.
A quick, fun, beautiful graphic novel.
On a mission to read 12 books in the next 24 days. That's a hell of a lot for me, and I can't wait. #bookgasm #winterbreak
I ration these. Almost done with them.
Holy crap, I'm reading.
Creepy shit, and it kept me guessing.
Finally, a book has grabbed me by the nose hairs.
The first book on my #Readathon TBR. I know I won't read much because organizer duties, but I can do this.
This book is a winner. If it wasn't a library copy I'd underline the hell out if it.

Youth behaving badly on the Ivory Coast of Africa in the 70s. It's melodramatic, silly, and over the top, but also free of African stereotypes prevalent in the media. Aya herself, ambitious and determined to be a doctor, is sort of a side note in this first volume, but I can't wait for more.
Smug asshole. DNF.
Ohhh Regional Office, you were an ass-kicking good time. As if The Library at Mount Char and Die Hard had a baby.
The Regional Office: uniquely positioned to Empower and Strengthen otherwise troubled or at-risk Young Women to act as a Barrier of last resort between the survival of the Planet and the amassing Forces of Darkness that Threaten...
Our fantasies are our realities in an excuse-free world.
...I'm angry enough, at last, to stop being afraid of life, and angry enough--finally, God willing, with my mother's anger also on my shoulders, a great boil of rage like the sun's fire in me--before I die to fucking well live. Just watch me.
"...it's always there."
