Today I went to the beautiful Lingholm Estate, a place that Beatrix Potter spent many of her holidays, and inspired the setting of The Tale of Peter Rabbit! I walked this awesome alpaca (called Theo!) around the grounds and even had a paddle in Derwent Water! 😊#alpacalyeverafter #keswick2018

I had a great weekend with my bro and his girlfriend, which included some gargantuan leaves, a Wimbledon final party, and of course strawberries and cream! To top it all off, Ruthie and I ditched my brother to see this utterly hilarious play, which left my throat aching from laughing so much! Definitely a great thing to see if you have the chance!

Today's book haul with @sarahrushtxn was quite successful! I the Robert Harris books that I've read so far, so I'm very excited to read these, and I've heard amazing things about Robin Hobb books, so I think it's about time I read them!

This is without a doubt my favourite Tolkien book (though for some reason everyone else I know seems to hate it) and I absolutely love this line!

Words cannot describe how much I loved reading this book! It somehow manages to balance a fast paced plot that has plenty of surprises and developments, with a truly insightful look at some of the issues facing both the Catholic Church and the wider world today, such as the pitfalls of ambition, secrecy, morality, and the conflict between fundamentalism and liberalism!

The good thing about being ill is that it gives me a chance to revisit some of my all time favourite books! The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is potentially my favourite Christie book, and I absolutely love this line from it!

One of my #welllovedreads is predictably my 1984 edition of 1984! It's in terrible condition but I refuse to get another copy just for the sake of it being part of the 1984 print run! I love this book and have read it dozens of times, as have many people, I'm sure! #riotgram

I sped through this book, I could hardly put it down! It is a great start to what should be an amazing trilogy of fantasy novels, which, though it is set in a very different society to our own, does tackle some difficult and extremely relevant topics! In the wake of recent events, I wanted to read something topical, so I finally picked this up! I was given it to read by my brother after the horrific Paris attacks last year, and it gives an incredible insight into the inner workings of the secret services, and how they work tirelessly to protect us. Well worth a read!
