Did I really need to add another series of books to my ever growing TBR? Of course I did! I have seen a lot of praise for Gregg Hurwitz‘s Orphan X over the years and I‘m so glad I took the plunge! I loved everything about this book! The story is fascinating! The writing is outstanding! My favorite trait of Evan‘s is that he‘s a meditating assassin!

After starting this series with the 7th book (DARK HORSE-available 1/4!), I was delighted to discover that the first two books in the #OrphanXSeries were available via #KindleUnlimited! This is a strong series opener with more of Evan‘s backstory & childhood included. His first interactions with his neighbors also broke up the excitement nicely- the rescue missions & overall plot work well here and that ending has me thankful I don‘t have to wait!

I'm pleased about how Feb. went & hope to have even better results in March. To read 8 books in a month, taking into account how many hours I work, makes me happy. They were all so good that I 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 like reading, & wish I'd had time to read more. Retirement is another month closer . . . I can't wait.⁣

It is definitely a one day read where every chapter ends on a cliffhanger.

I am loving the Orphan X series and so happy that book 4 is out in February 2019. This is an action packed thriller with a Bourne feel. If you like thrillers, secretive operatives, action and well-written characters then this is a series you should get involved with

Jack Reacher fans you will love this! I loved this book and totally wouldn't kick Evan out of bed. I was literally pulled into this book and I couldn't put it down. Meet Evan, picked for the orphan programme by the government at a young age and trained to be the best of the best in undercover operations, but what happens when the orphan programme is dismantled, what happens to all the orphans? You've gotta read it, it's bloody brilliant!

Sometimes you just want a quick, fun read perfect for a long plane ride or an afternoon at the beach. If that‘s you, or me last night, this book might be for you. This is the first in a series about Evan Smoak, an assassin who left the program that made him, disappeared, & then turned his skills to helping people in desperate need. Only, he‘s been found & now he‘s the hunted. An entertaining read. (Book 27/50)

Started reading this and it‘s so action packed. I can‘t seem to put it down! That‘s me and my best friend - Sooty my labradoodle love him so much! 😍

Just finished this action-packed adventure, very fun. It was a little James Bond, a little Jason Bourne, and, dare I say, a little Batman. I'd like to see some new young action star play this part but I'm afraid it'll just be Tom Cruise if/when it gets adapted, lol

Only criticism, it was very heavy on the guns-n-gadgets details. Like, a ton.

On BBC 5 radio last night with Phil William and Gregg Hurwitz. Gregg writes the Dark Knight and his Orphan X series of thrillers. If you like fast paced super-spy thrillers with just a touch of sci-if you will love Gregg‘s books. If you are currently in the Harrogate area the Crime Writers Festival on now is well worth checking out.

I can't believe I forgot to post this! I just finished Hellbent yesterday morning and I cried way more during that book than I want to admit. 😂 The book signing was amazing! Gregg Hurwitz was super sweet and funny, I'll have a full recount of the book signing/vodka tasting on my blog in a few days!

Where did November go?!? I‘m rather disappointed in my stats for the month, but I did have a couple of truly fantastic reads and only one bail. Of course, I stuck with a couple of other books that I probably should have run screaming from, so...

Orphan X, The Strangler Vine, Kissing Tolstoy, and Discovering Tudor London were my favorites and five-star reads.

Orphan X is my last 5 Star read. When I finished, my mom had to grab a tissue for me. I dare not say more.

This was an absolutely incredible thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat, turning pages as fast as I possibly could. This is the first month in ages that I don‘t have anything pre-ordered. Since I‘m a mood reader, my #NovTBR is just finishing the books I started in October, plus whatever comes in the #LitsyGoesPostal #24HRR package this month. Today has been a hellish day at work so far and I still have 3 hours to go, plus God only knows how much longer of working at home tonight (I hate month-end close). Full of tricks not treats. #trickortreat I‘m reading on the Kindle app for a bit to try to bring my blood pressure down.
Evan seems to be an either/or character, too. I definitely want to be in his treat side, not his naughty list.
