Everyone give your furbabies an extra hug and kiss from me today. My beautiful Marnie baby passed away unexpectedly last night and I can‘t quite wrap my brain around the fact that I won‘t get to pet her and give her cuddles again. She was the absolute sweetest cat with the coolest personality. 💔😞

When the English Fall | David Williams

so-so

On the one hand, I found certain aspects of this book very compelling. It really makes you think about how easy it would be for stuff like this to happen. The basic premise is that after a solar storm changes the world as we know it, the story is told of what happens afterward through the journal entries of an Amish man. The Amish are better equipped to handle life without power and easy access to food due to farming and planning ahead. TBC 👇🏻

JenlovesJT47 What happens when the "English" (any non Amish person) are starving and people don't follow the rules anymore? The Amish and their simple way of life is threatened when people become violent and try to steal their food. This was such a great premise for a dystopian novel, but it fell a little short in the storytelling aspect. Jacob (who wrote the journal) is a sweetheart, but most of the story is told in such a boring fashion. Still, ?? 7y

Horrorstor: A Novel | Grady Hendrix

The first half of this book was pretty funny, then ?starts to go down. It was equal parts disturbing and fascinating. I gave it an extra star because it is extremely unique. I love the different format of this book and the crazy illustrations with the hilarious "available in" colors. This is a very creative and disturbing book. Highly recommended for horror fans who are looking for something quick to read that's not too heavy. 5⭐️

so-so

This is somewhere between a pick and so-so for me. I sometimes enjoy reading fluff so this definitely fits the bill in that aspect. It was extremely predictable with not much character development, but it was a feel-good story with mostly likable characters that you can't help but root for. I LOVE this cover - it looks very February to me if that makes sense! 3.5⭐️
