If you like paranormal romance with some spice, I recommend this one. An arranged marriage between a vampire and an Alpha werewolf…what could go wrong?

Ali Hazelwood is an auto-buy author for me, so it‘s no surprise that I enjoyed this! I applaud her for stepping out of her comfort zone to write a paranormal romance, which isn‘t her usual romance sub genre.

Hoping for a good reading weekend! My goals for the 2 readathons are to:
1) finish my current read (tagged book)
2) start on My Roommate Is a Vampire (my #doublespin for this month)
3) complete the other 3 books, which are all pretty short cozies
4) clean my house because the last couple of days haven‘t gone as planned 😂

@guinsgirlreads thank you so much for this amazing #FallingForFallSwap package!!! I had trouble fitting everything into the photo!! I'm genuinely delighted with everything, especially the bonus book, very appropriate for my line of work 😂 Thank you so much and happy fall!!!
Thank you for hosting this swap @Avanders @Chrissyreadit - truly one of my favorite swaps of the year!!!
Funny, witty love story about an arranged marriage between a werewolf and a vampire. Excerpt is from the vampire bride's perspective at the wedding.

It was okay. Not a fan of vampires or werewolves but this book distracted me.
Fun and spicy palate cleanser! 🔥I wasn‘t planning to read this until one of my favourite YTubers recommended it on her channel.
The enemies-to-lovers trope isn‘t too strong, but I liked the wry, snarky protagonist. 🦇💜🐺
The non-romance part of the plot is fine, though I couldn‘t decide whether the Collateral idea is ridiculous or genius in a very “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” way….the romance part manages to be both tedious and gross, sometimes at the same time.
I enjoyed Bride more than I thought I would! There were a couple of tropes that annoyed me, but overall, it was a fun read and just what I needed. It kind of gave me Patricia Briggs vibes, but more playful and romantic.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Maybe it‘s the science nerd in me but I caught myself smiling at this book more than once. Interesting twist on the typical vampire/shifter romance. I hope there is another book exploring some of the other characters.
Vampires and werewolves aren‘t my usual reading choices but I picked this book up when it came out on the recommendation of a friend. I love Ali Hazelwood and she didn‘t disappoint me with this one. Vampires, werewolves & humans. Oh, my! 🤓 Funny, spicy and interesting.

⭐️⭐️ Forced proximity werewolf - vampire romance. Paranormal stuff is FAR out of my wheelhouse, but I‘ve enjoyed Hazelwood‘s #steminist rom-coms, so decided to give this a try. I don‘t know, y‘all. I was pretty okay until the knot. #iykyk.
I didn't care for the characters at all. I am glad that I read it. Just not one of my favorite books by the author. I rated this book a 2 out of 5 stars.
So much gardening happened today. I‘m so tired. So happy hour is happening on the back porch with a cocktail from a can, another book started despite not finishing the others yet ( I need light, no brain action required and I can take in the tub aka not a library book) happy almost the weekend
I am nearly done with this one, and even though it isn't her normal content, I thought it was amazing. The lore and world building took a minute, and it started a bit choppy; but it's a great story and I am invested!
Bk6 of May is done! Felt like something light & funny & this did not disappoint. I very much enjoyed this paranormal romance, it reminded me of Jenny Colgan except with fangs, pointy ears & howling. Misery is used to being a pawn between her people, Vampyres, & the humans so when she‘s told she‘ll now be one to the Weres, she agrees. Only coz she‘s looking for her only friend who‘s disappeared. What she doesn‘t expect is to fall for their Alpha.👇
Not sure I would've picked this one up if it hadn't been written by Ali Hazelwood, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Same heroine who doesn't believe the man who's deeply obsessed with her could possibly be in love with her, but this time they're vampires and werewolves trying to end an interspecies feud. Yes, it's spicy. Yes, there's knotting. No, I'm not explaining what that is. Go read this book or some fanfiction and you'll soon find out 😂
I liked Misery a lot… she was a strong female lead, and like Lowe states, she‘s resilient. She truly experienced neglect and abuse at the hands of her father, but she still managed to see the good in others and trust. I liked that there was that substance to this story, so it was more than just the spice, vampyres or Weres. I hope Ali will write more books in this world.
I really enjoyed this. I loved the main character and her snark. I like how the author put her twists on the Vampyres and Weres. I liked the storylines and the things I didn't see coming. Of course some stuff was predictable but I think that is true of most romance books. Fair warning though, it was MUCH spicier than I was expecting. I blame the cartoonish cover for throwing me off on that. I would NOT compare it to Romeo & Juliet like some are.
I'm only halfway through but I love it already. It's definitely my kind of humor.
Finished this spicy romance outside with my sweet old lady Edie-cat, who has been loving yard exploring on her harness
Do many good library holds came in this weekend! I'm reading a physical copy of Fair Rosaline and an audiobook of Bride. As soon as I finish that I'll move on to the Titanic Survivors Book Club audiobook. #WeekendReada
I love, love, LOVED Ali Hazelwood's spin on a Vampyre/Werewolf romance. I was fully invested in the alternate world she built, and while some of the "twists" were more obvious to see coming than others, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and the slow build of their romance. I sincerely hope she continues the series sooner rather than later!! ?
I‘m not 100% sure about this…I loved Lowe and Misery, but the spice was definitely a little weird for me. Loved the storyline, and loved the characters, but the suggestion for a sequel kind of caught me off guard a little. This was still a lot of fun though, like all of Ali‘s books are
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have greatly enjoyed Ali Hazelwood's STEM romance books. With this being her first paranormal romance, I was definitely intrigued and I can say that I was not disappointed. What I love most about Hazelwood's writing is how well (and how smart) she writes her characters. While romance is obviously at the heart of this book, Hazelwood gives us a mystery and political intrigue that gives the plot a realistic feel in this shifter novel.
This one was really good! I actually found myself laughing out loud because of how witty the author wrote the character Misery. It was definitely an intense story that kept me wondering what is going to happen next but it was a good balance between wit and intensity! I love vampire stories and this one didn‘t let me down! Dare i say this was also vampy-were smut?!
I started this one yesterday and im locked in! Stayed up way past my bedtime reading!
