I‘ve picked my #ThematicCozies book for January. I‘ll also put it on my #readyourebooks & #Roll100 lists.

Really enjoyed listening to this one. I have mixed feelings about reading tragic stories as it seems insensitive to those who have experienced the loss. But it's clear early on that this #MissingPerson story will turn out well. Amusingly told from the dog's POV, Chet & his human partner investigate how & why a teenage girl has disappeared. My grandkids' pups' Dax & Dexter surely have their own POV. #NewYearNewBooks @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
This was pretty cute…a private detective and his dog investigate the possible kidnapping of a local teen…told from the dogs point of view! A little cheesy, a lot of fun.
⭐️: 3.5/5
1. Absolutely
2. The first in the Chet and Bernie series, told from the dog‘s POV. They are funny and compelling mysteries.
1. Most definitely!
2. I bet you thought I was going to say Murderbot. The Chet and Bernie mysteries by Spencer Quinn are told from the point of view of Bernie's dog Chet and are hilarious.

This book is quirky and unique. I really liked it!
It breaks my heart to DNF a dog book but I‘m going to have to set this one aside for now. Chet the dog is great and I love that he and Bernie are detectives. And it‘s funny! But there‘s a scene from Chet‘s perspective in a dog shelter that I just cannot get thru. I‘m not usually so sensitive! I am shocked by my own feelings. But it made me CRY. I cried! I just don‘t want to keep going with it right now. Bummer, too, cause this series looks so fun.
Since my other current read has no audiobook (The Forest by Edward Rutherfurd) this is what I‘m listening to on my work commutes. So cute! A man and his dog are private investigators. I love the dog, Chet.
When my book club chose the 4th title in this series and I saw it was narrated by a dog I admit I thought it would be the corniest thing ever. In fact, I was charmed by it and have now read several in the series. They are really great on audio. #ItHadToBeYou #bestfriends @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Day 160.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
Generally, I gravitate toward serial killer mysteries. I‘ve tried a few cozy mysteries and they‘re not my thing. This Chet & Bernie mystery was neither of those, and I freaking loved it. I really thought that a dog narrator would irritate the 💩💩💩 out of me, but Chet‘s inner monologue and antics kept me laughing. I especially appreciated how Quinn illustrated the deep bond between these two characters.
While my dogs would agree with Chet, the dog narrator in this missing person Chet & Bernie mystery, I know many dogs who love to shred paper🤣
This missing person mystery took me a little while to get into, but canine narrator Chet has won me over with his unique perspective and sense of humor.
Someone wants dinner... 😂 #thepouttho #dogmom #greatdane
#adventrecommends day 12!
Dog On It by Spencer Quinn. Bernie is a private eye, Chet is his partner (and dog), and the books are written from Chet‘s POV. This series is just fun, and Spencer Quinn does a good job of channeling ‘dogness‘ in a way that‘s believable, but not grating as long as you space out the books (I did four in a row and it was a bit much, but with other books in between it works out).
This was fine. The dog is definitely the best part of the story. Note there‘s a sad 😢 scene in an animal shelter. Meanwhile, the photo is proof that I like dogs too.

TIL: dog-narrated mysteries are not my jam. Now I know! 😂 It was fine, but it could have been better (and/or shorter!) without all the dog commentary.
This is the first book in a mystery series about Bernie, a private investigator, and his dog, Chet. Together, they solve a missing person mystery. The story is told from Chet's point of view. Chet is almost as smart as Bernie, who's no slouch intellectually. But pass the crullers, both Bernie and Chet are addicted to them. I'll most likely continue reading the series in the near future. 😍 👍
Happy National Dog Day! ❤️🐶🐶
I came home today to this ARC. My husband just rolled his eyes and asked when I was going to read all of these books I have stacked up. 🤣
He's hard to see but my weenie dog, Ramses, loves to get right up close to the fire. Sabrina just likes to lay on his bed. 😂❤️🐶🐶
A fun book. Loved how it was told from a dog's perspective. Something different and fun. 😊 Waiting for the second and third books in the series from PaperbackSwap.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Read the three short stories that started this series so decided to continue it. Being written by the dog's (Chet's) perspective is different 😊
I found her like this. My sons are out in the pool - she is hiding so they don't put her in. 😂💦🐶
@CBee These are our small standards. Jack and Diane weigh around 19lbs. And they are BIG hunters. #dogsoflitsy Okay, guys. I‘ll take some new photos.
@CBee These are our grandwieners enjoying their birthday at Dairy Queen. Had no idea they served Birthday ice cream to dogs! These boys are minis. #dogsoflitsy Apologies, Littens. @CBee and I have connected over doxies.
For you @Kaye 😊 She was about 3 months old here. ❤️
Someone is 8 months today. 🎉🐶❤️
Jack and Diane wanted to share their young charges with you. These are my daughter‘s addition to our Wiener Pack! #dogsoflitsy The little ones just want a beer! 🐶🐶🐶🐶🍺🍺
This is on my front door. It is absolutely true. 🐶😜
1. Clearly Jack and Diane are an obsession. I‘ll try to post something other than them next time! It‘s my only weekend photo.
2. I would love to go to a Litsy Meet Up. #HuntsvilleAL #BirminghamAL #NashvilleTN
3. Grilled fish on a bed of arugula on a healthy day. Grilled cheese on a preferred day! Sooo, grilled cheese!
4. Plain old white today with blue seersucker pants.

For you @SledgeReader 🐶🐶❤️
This was just okay for me. I like the fact that the dog was the narrator and definitely found it unique and fun, but there were times when it got to be too much. And the story was slow moving in a lot of areas. The characters will definitely win you over, but the story is just lacking.
It‘s true about kids and dogs - if they‘re quiet, something is up. 😂 #busted #sillypup #herfacetho
A mystery told by a dog just isn‘t for me. Full review at http://booknaround.blogspot.com/2018/02/review-dog-on-it-by-spencer-quinn.html
@Karen praying i can mail out the books to you. It will be Dog on it and Final Girls. #whodunitbymail

And just because I thought it was cute: Guinness using Lamb Chop as a pillow. Not pictured is the duck that is totally underneath him. #dogsoflitsy
