This was amazing! I can't wait for book two. Anyone who enjoys Aladdin retellings or The City of Brass will devour this book. The world building is incredible, and characters were so well fleshed out. So good!!

This was a great book. It's kind of like a mash-up of the story of Aladdin and The Forty Thieves but with more fantasy blended in. It's definitely a pick for me! I'm excited to read the next book coming our later this year!
Some of my goals for September. Last month, I finished 5 of 7 with the rest being library and mood reads. I am slowly working my way through my bookshelves. #Serieslove2023 #Readyourtbr #readyourshelves #Septembertbr
I usually love stories like this, but I don't think I was in the right head space. I liked it, but I didn't feel like I got to enjoy it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The Stardust Thief” was a solid read with an interesting world, however I couldn‘t bring myself to like the characters. Each of them had qualities that I found made them unlikeable, and even annoying at times. The plot was decent, however I don‘t think it is enough to persuade me to read the rest of this series.
Barnes Haul! I've never read anything by these authors, so I'm pretty excited to get to them soon. I'm so obsessed with the covers as well, annnnddddd the The black jewels trilogy is over 1000 pages and soooo floppy 🥰!!!!!
Next row of my #readinglogsnake is The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah. A fantasy reminiscent of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves, complete with djinn and adventures. I love how many of the old Arabic tales were woven to make this story. I am eagerly waiting the next in this series. Strongly recommend this book. 5/5 ⭐️ #BooksAndCrafts #ARRCReads
Reorganized my solid color sprayed edges books into a rainbow 🌈 This is the only area of my bookshelf my OCD would allow the rainbow. I can not handle my series being separated on my shelf 😬
#BookNerd 🤓📚💙
This book just wasn‘t for me. It was written well, but it‘s not my style at all. It started out so good, I thought I was going to love the story. It changed for me about half way thru. If you like fight scene after fight scene after fight scene after fight scene (you get it), then this book might be for you. I don‘t like fight scenes. This was the first book in a series. Needless to say, I won‘t be reading the others.

DELIGHTFUL!
Highly recommend!
Loulie is The Midnight Merchant, she hunts & sells illegal magic. She has a Jinn bodyguard. She saves a cowardly young prince looking for adventure. She‘s forced to go on a dangerous quest with several companions. They fight a evil Jinn, gouls & past enemies. There‘s also a lamp and 40 thieves, a sultan, an heir to the throne.
An adventure you shouldn‘t miss. Great multi-voice-actor narration.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
DNF. I didn't hate it. I just couldn't really get into it. I was avoiding it, so time to DNF. I got just short of half of it read.

This was just the right book to start out the new year. Full of great details about jinn, magic, political intrigue, and the power of stories. Loulie, the Midnight Merchant sells magic, illegally, assisted by her jinn bodyguard Qadir. They are trapped into a quest for an artifact. The sultan‘s younger son is blackmailed into going, as is with one of the forty thieves. Great world building and characters. Can‘t wait for the 2nd in series.
I knew I would love this book from the moment I read the first line of the Kindle sample, and it did not disappoint. This was an adventure story I really enjoyed reading, and I couldn't put it down after I made it past the 20% mark (always a good sign for me). It was refreshing to see a story about jinns and their magic, the desert, and stories based on the 1001 nights. The author has built something new and fantastical here, and
Getting excited about upcoming vacation time. I am taking some much needed time off to catch up on reading.
😫😫😫 Why is this a trilogy? This was so good! Honestly it made me think that I really need to pick up Empire of Gold and finish that trilogy. The books aren‘t the same, but have djinn, deserts, some same magical creatures.
I‘m so glad I picked up this book. Also, my dog photobombed, thinking the pumpkin was a toy for him to destroy. 🤣
Book 1 finished for #NovelNovember
Inspired by the classic 1,001 Nights stories, Abdullah kicks this series off with 3 human narrators- the Midnight Merchant, Loulie, who trades forbidden jinn relics, Prince Mazen with the heart of a storyteller & not a warrior & Aisha, one of the thieves of the sultan‘s older, murdery son. The jinn magic & characters are the show stealers here- I felt like the human characters just weren‘t as intriguing or developed… curious to see where it goes!
I was going to grab this fantasy pick from #BOTM, but instead I just found and bought a copy with PINK SPRAYED EDGES! I think I‘m in love. 😍 A magical One Thousand and One Nights retelling for #ScarathlonDailyPrompts #PhotoChallenge Day 9: #Magic #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon2022
I spent an unnecessary amount of time crying my way through this book. What the actual hell. Is there a second book? There had better be since this ended in a highly unsatisfying manner.
This is the first high fantasy in a long time that I‘ve been able to read all the way through. The plot, characters, and pacing all weave together in a way that had me racing through the chapters to figure out where it was all leading. Definitely a 5 ⭐️ read! I can‘t wait to read the next book in the series!

I enjoyed this new fantasy adventure inspired by 1001 Arabian Nights. Filled with middle eastern folklore and great characters. This is an adult fantasy, but great for those new to the genre, as it is not too densely packed with characters. Not all of the characters are as strongly fleshed out as others, so not perfect, but a great start to a new trilogy. 4⭐️
This is my #doublespin read!
I really enjoyed this fantasy adventure. The plot had a lot of twists and turns that kept me guessing. Loulie, Qadir, Mazon, and Aisha were a great cast of characters. I‘m definitely looking forward to the next book in the trilogy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really loved the characters and multiple POV chapters. Such a great story and I‘m excited for the next two books to come in this series! #thestardustthief #chelseaabdullah
This was alright. Not quite the page-turner I was hoping it would be, and eventually the “but wait…there‘s more!” aspects of the plot became a little tiresome. I did enjoy the characters, though, and will be interested to see whether more of Aisha‘s background is revealed in the sequel.
I didn't get a bingo this month, but I did get close and I finished my #BookSpin --- The Stardust Thief --- which was excellent.

Finished my book and started a new crochet project for Fall!
LIKES
🔸The stories within the story
🔸It was complex
🔸The setting
🔸Cast of characters were unique
DISLIKES
🔹Lost interest at certain parts/felt long
🔹Sometimes lost track of who was who and what was going on (prob my own fault haha)
#botm
I really loved this retelling of One Thousand & One Nights. Loulie along with her bodyguard/jinn Qadir are hired by the Sultan to find a magic lamp 🧞

#audiostrengthtraining anyone? 😅
Listened to my audiobook instead of music during my workout today.
It wasn't bad. It is harder to pay attention to the story while counting reps. But I was able to knock out 30mins off my audiobook soooo win??! 💪
This book is interesting...I'm 50% in and it's starting to lag a little in the middle. Hoping the action picks back up! 🧞🧭
Amazing epic fantasy inspired by 1001 Nights. Though it is a retelling, I never knew what was going to happen next. (I thought I did but I was so wrong). Chelsea Abdullah had a way of taking the original narratives and making it into her own tale that evaluated morality and what that means.
My favorite book so far this year. I was a little hesitant since fantasy isn‘t my normal pick, but I was intrigued by the idea of a magical tale that was outside of the norm. I love this story. It‘s a book I‘m sure to read again.
Got in some good reading time yesterday at the beach! My husband and son were busy building sandcastles while I snuck in a few pages!
This book has been the fun and adventurous fantasy I've been craving. Very good so far!
#botm
This was a great debut fantasy! Loved the characters and the twists at the end ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Listening to The Stardust Thief and working on my cross-stitching. It is coming along nicely, and the book has been really good so far.
#audiostitching
Great retelling of the search for the magic lamp. Jinns and humans travel to find the lamp to revenge the sultan.
I'm taking a staycation this week and starting it right with a lovely book on a gorgeous morning. And look, the crepe myrtle is finally blooming again! I was worried it wouldn't after it was butchered by the landlord's landscapers, but it is thriving again.
HOORAY!!!
I did order the Waterstone‘s special edition of The Stardust Thief! Another book I‘m excited to read!
#TheStardustThief #Waterstones
Not a fan of fantasy.
I feel like it‘s always the following:
1. Need to save something/someone/somewhere OR Go on a Quest
2. Something magical and dangerous happens and everyone barely escapes with their life
3. Repeat until the end of the book/series
Starting this one from #BOTM. I don‘t read Fantasy at all but when I heard this book had Jinns and Golems, I thought I‘d give it a try.
This is book 1 in a trilogy and I must say this series is off to a solid start. There are shades of One Thousand and One Nights. Full of world building and magic, vengeful jinn queen and two people forced to work together to survive. This ends with a cliffhanger and I‘m looking forward to the next book. #bigjunereadathon @Clwojick
Look what came in the mail today! Book Happiness from BOTM! Can‘t wait to dive into the tagged book! I love it when I get book mail! #bookhappiness #botm
I choose just one book this month, The Stardust Thief. I liked the synopsis. Hope it is good! What did you choose?
🧡📙📚
For June's #botm I went with the fantasy and one of the thrillers.
June #botm pick! This one hadn't really been on my radar but definitely sounds like something I'll like.
