I loved this! Now I must see a performance. This is one of the two books I finished for #ReverseReadathon. I did read part of all ten books in my stack - the first time I‘ve ever done that! #Deweys
Final stats: 874 pages, 12 hr 21 min

The trailer just came out for the movie.... thought I would share.

Let me know what u think!
This is also a musical I believe, I will be going to London and thought about seeing it. It deals with teenage suicide and depression, inspite of this I did enjoy the book. #books
So it is nearly the end of the month, I am reading two books just now. I will be able to get this one in before March I think. #tbr
😍😭😍😭😍😭😍😭😍😭
Finished Fangirl. Onto the next YA. Has anyone read this? Yay or nay? Didn‘t they make a movie of this or did I make that up?
I saw Dear Evan Hansen recently in Cleveland and really enjoyed it. I actually thought I was getting the novel to read, but this is the musical. It was great but exactly what I saw performed. I still need to get my hands on the novel itself. If you haven‘t heard of DEH, you should check it out. The music is excellent too.
An important story about friendship, family, growing up, and mental health. Even better with the soundtrack.
I've learnt to reach out for help and not be afraid to admit that I need it. I've learnt that falling is a part of life, but as long as you land upright you'll be just fine. I've learnt that we won't always make the right decisions as fallible humans, but that admitting to our mistakes and trying to fix things is all we can do.
'I'm much better at interpreting books and stories than I am at understanding the decisions made by living, breathing people.'
This will relate to the young readers because it has to do with the sense of self and belonging within Evan's life. A sense that young readers can relate to.
This book sounds really interesting to me. I love the idea of being seen and unseen by peers and how that could solely be changed by secrecy. This will be really important for young readers to look at because it shows how much power a simple secret can hold and the importance of trust and good friendship. This suspenseful coming-of-age novel will keep the students interested and wanting more.

B&N 50% off sale. I got there as they were opening the door and was in and out in 15 minutes. I trained for this! 😂
I cracked open this book 📖 and found THIS! What a cool way to start a book!! 🤗
4/5 🌟
I mostly enjoyed this book. I liked the story, but I really struggled with my own feelings throughout the time I was reading it. I've mentioned before that my uncle died by suicide. The anniversary of his death is this Friday, Feb 1, so I'm stuck in my feelings for a while. This novel was a reminder of what I was going through when I found out about my Uncle Ed. [Pic is memorial tattoo.]
Check on your people. They may need help.
25% off...i mean I said I wouldn't buy any more books this year, but... How could I resist 😂📚
This was really good! I haven‘t seen the musical yet but have listened to the soundtrack a few times and read a synopsis. I think, at least, that this goes a lot more In depth to the characters and their thoughts and motivations than the play (I‘ll let you know for sure when I see it in the spring). But I loved it! Even if you‘d never heard of the musical this would be a great YA novel
It‘s intermission and this show is super close to my heart and every day life as a school counselor. I wish all my students could see it and know #youwillbefound.
Update: SO powerful! Loved it and especially related to his mother who had the best of intentions and even with them, had a difficult time connecting and reaching her son. It‘s so hard.
Book haul :) so exited to dive right in to these good reads!
Guys, this show is amazing. It was an it show for a reason and it is well deserved. The show is poignant and moving. We know these people. We have been these people. If you see this show, be prepared for the waterworks.

The irony of listening to #DearEvanHansen the same day this happens 🦀
Saw this over the weekend. Somehow, I managed not to know anything about the story line going in. Boy, did it take a dark left turn about 20 minutes in!! 😳
I saw the lead a few years back in another bookish show, The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime. He‘s amazing.
This show was FABULOUS!!!!! 🤩
#HeyJune #ActNaturally I‘m super pumped as I‘ll be seeing Evan Hansen on BDWY in a few weeks. I just read the book which manages to convey all the emotions without belittling the complexities of high school. Listen to the soundtrack, it‘s soooo good 💚 #pop18 #stageplaymusical
Oh my gosh I am SO excited for this novel. Val Emmich is an amazing singer/songwriter, novelist and a really wonderful person. I am so excited for this book. Thanks @swishandflick for posting about this.
I'm intrigued!
PS: has anyone heard the Hamilton/DEH mashup that Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt dropped today?! It's called Found/Tonight - SO GOOD I CAN'T TAKE IT 😍 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2aQykuIaJVI&feature=youtu.be)
"On the outside always looking in, will I ever be more than I've always been?"
Gentle reminders for Monday.
The things that make you strange are the things that make you powerful.
❤️
Well the good news is I've gone a whole day without buying a book (HA!), but the bad news is I bought a ticket to see Dear Evan Hansen again so my self control still sucks 🙈 (I ♥️ BEN PLATT)
(In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a Broadway junkie!)
Just so darn good. And full of tears of sorrow & joy. And for anyone who still needs to see the genius of Ben Platt...

Man. I really miss taking the train into NYC for shows, but I just hate the city so much. This soundtrack is amazing so far. I may have to find out if it would be possible to see this and Puffs on the same day.
Not book-related and I do apologize about that... but I fell into a "Dear Evan Hansen" music and YouTube video loop and now I'm just wishing that attending this musical might be in my future ?
.
A girl can dream, right? ????

Bucket lists never hurt nobody!
Steven Levenson KNOWS how to craft dialogue oh my god. All of Evan's monologues are just so brilliant and the story is so brilliant and all of the characters have issues which is real. There's some stuff in the script that I'm disappointed that they left out of the OBCR that really show that the show is more than an "anti suicide PSA" overall I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
#bookmail After burning through the soundtrack on repeat, and watching every live performance I could get my hands on before Ben Platt's Tony win, my copy of the book has finally arrived. I'm a happy girl! 🤗 Now if only I could see it in NY!
Congrats to the cast and crew of Dear Evan Hansen... This show is the reason that theatr gives me life! #youwillbefound
Next best thing to watching it on Broadway, or that's what I'm telling myself 😉
Giving myself a little Dear Evan Hansen inspired peptalk as I have a really, really, extremely important job interview today and I'm trying hard not to panic or overthink it.
I figured you guys would forgive me another non book related post since Littens are the absolute BEST 😄
Lin-Manuel who? My latest obsession--I've been listening non-stop for the last two weeks. As someone who's struggled with social anxiety, this song in particular really gets to me.
