Enjoying some late-afternoon front porch reading in the last couple hours of daylight. ❤️ Such a lovely afternoon. Grateful for this super fresh air after all these bad-air days due to Canadian wildfires! AQI is currently at 19! ☺️🙌 Never mind that I‘m 31 days behind in my current reading plan 🙈 Still gonna try to catch up!
1. In my life not just in May? Probably The Bible.
2. Three but if there were 5 trilogies 🤷🏼♀️ I also love extended series if they are shorter books like Zombie Fallout, Pendergast, Joe ledger, Bosch, Dark Tower, etc. 😆
3. Expeditionary Force, First law, Dark Tower & Harry Potter

More drama in today‘s reading for the #BibleBuddyRead (1 Samuel 26-29). Saul goes after David AGAIN! Can you believe it?! 😳 Then Saul consults a medium which God‘s Word clearly warns not to do (Leviticus 19:31 and Leviticus 20:6; later the Bible also reiterates this in Revelation 21:8; 2 Kings 21:6; 2 Chronicles 33:6; Galatians 5:19-21). 😧
This is an illustration from yesterday‘s reading. Today‘s reading holds the same theme: Saul just keeps coming after David! Yet David shows his true character and respect for the Lord, and spares Saul‘s life. 🙌🏻
Today‘s reading for the #BibleBuddyRead is 1 Samuel 22-25.
Sharing something I‘ve found helpful, maybe it‘ll help you too. 🤗 After a week of reading I‘ve found it hard to remember what I wanted to mention in our #WeeklyWrapUp discussions, and even more so in our monthly #Zoom calls… then I started using these sticky notes from The Daily Grace Co ($5 on sale!) and they‘ve helped a ton! 🙌🏻

One of the allusions used is “'turn the other cheek'', which means to not react when harm is done to you, or responding to injury without revenge and allowing more injury.
“All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. I‘m him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Can anyone explain why after his name change sometimes he is called Jacob and other times Israel?
This is just one example of how it is used back and forth.
Check out @BookBabe post if you are interested in reading the Bible in a year! I‘ve always wanted to do this, but found it difficult to just sit down and read it! I think it will be awesome doing it with a group!

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

No matter what you‘re doing for Valentine‘s. God loves you so much more than anyone possibly can love on earth.
According to Google, this inscription and book ornament above a door in #Delft mark the building where the first Bible in the Dutch language was published in 1477.
I took a photo to remind me to look into this, as I wasn‘t sure of the translation at the time. Do you know if this correct, @BarbaraBB ?
Stopping point for #audiostitching tonight. Finished my Hebrew Bible readings for class on Monday, now it's time to read all the secondary materials.
"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
Squeezing in some #audiostitching this evening! I'm taking a break from other schoolwork to do some Bible readings for my Old Testament course. If only any of my other readings were available as audiobooks... 😪
