This shines a light into the darkness of dysfunctional marriage and divorce. Brodesser-Akner captures the feelings and realities of shared parenting gone horribly wrong. She develops Fleishman from a horny divorced dude with kids to a full-time dad conflicted about love, sex, and kids. Sometimes I grimaced, others I laughed. And occasionally I thought the author was quite wise.

Look what came across my desk this morning! It‘s not exactly quality literature, but it‘s a sign of the times & fun to read. I shared it with my college-age son, who lives on campus. He pointed out that Mom forgot to put on a mask to receive her grocery delivery! Oh, no! Still, this will top my Christmas list for co-workers.

Some of the folks who joined in on today‘s monthly meeting of the #2030SomethingBookClub 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! We‘ve been conducting #Zoom meetings since March, and hopefully we can have our first in-person meeting in August, which‘ll be in Central Park. This was an interesting meeting. This book had most of the members really disliking it, but by the end of the meeting, most had changed their minds to liking it. 🙂

Today, we had our first virtual Nashville Litsy Meetup. It did my head 🧠 and heart 💚 good to see these phenomenal ladies. Feel very fortunate to have forged friendships over our mutual love of books! #UCFLae3414F17 Six Dots is a biography, written by Jen Bryant. It tells the story of Louis Braille a young boy who lost his sight, but not his yearning to read and write. The story explains how hard it was for Louis to read and how they had to redefine the Braille system many times before he perfected it. It is a great read that incorporates English, French, and Braille and will definitely inspire your students.
I would use ESOL strategies 6 & 12.
