At first - it was very confusing and quite boring. Insta-love wasn't very romancey. But the ENDING!

This book was ok but not great. The writing was a bit ‘all over the place‘ . It didn‘t flow properly. I felt like the author just threw things in after writing a first draft! Like it was really rushed. The plot was good but the writing is going to stop me from reading books 2 and 3. Teenagers are really loving this author at the moment, which is a good thing. But this is not for me.
So much better than I expected! I read much of the Shatter Me series and knew the author was excellent. I've had this book for a while and kept putting off reading it because I wasn't in the right mood to tackle such a large book. I started it yesterday, and finished today. Couldn't put it down! I neeed the next one. I wish I could go right into it. Ugh. So sad. Now I have to do things I put off yesterday when all I wanted to do was to read. 5⭐
This is one of the most eloquent and beautifully written book I‘ve read this year. I love the atmosphere, the imagery, and our FMC, Alizeh. She is so strong and resilient, but kind and compassionate also. My only complaint had to do with the pacing- this is a sloooow burn. The ending was definitely unexpected, but I can‘t wait to see what happens next with these characters! 4.25/5 #whimsicalreadsbookclub

This was amazing!!
The story of Cinderella, with a lush Aladdin setting, and the politics, banter and scandal of Bridgerton is the best way I can describe this.
This is even giving some ACOTAR vibes.. or at least this is the first book that's made me feel the same way while reading. And the ending!! I need the second book now... omgoodness. A bit of a slow start, but stick with it. It's worth it.

Doing a little #audiocrocheting in the car this morning 🌄
I am enjoying this book so much! About halfway through it. I'd say it's a cross between Aladdin, Cinderella, and Bridgerton. Weird mash up...I know...but really well done. 👍
The writing is beautiful. 🌹
Car service always means a guaranteed good chunk of reading time.
Sitting outside because it's gorgeous today 🙌🌤️ and jumping into this #whimsicalreads pick! 🌹

These both sound like so much fun! 😆😆
I loved this story! Kind of reminds me of Cinderella (not exactly, but similarities). A young servant girl, who is not what she seems, catches the eye of a Prince. But at first, he thinks the girl a spy for another Kingdom. But when they finally realize they can start to trust each other, something happens to keep them a part.
Looking forward to book 2!
I loved Alizeh! Kamran was really interesting character too, it was interesting to see him interacting with the King. I especially loved his minister Hazan and how they discussed/acted toward each other.
The whole world felt refreshingly unique!
I loved the twists that I didn't see coming. This had perfect pacing and I was really intrigued to read more.
This had insta-love that isn't my favorite but it somehow worked.

This Woven Kingdom has been on my TBR for a little over a year now and the second book that just came out went directly on my TBR but these books are gonna stay on my TBR for a while 😬 I have found that with series like this I need it to be complete before I read it 🤪

A slow start but once it gets going……political intrigue, romance, and magic. The second book is out now.

This was so fun! My top pick for Dec was the new Armentrout book but trying to pick between my top 3 from the entire year was hard. I went with the one that I‘m still thinking about and it felt right. I discovered Mafi this year and read almost all of her books. For sure, Mafi and Gong were the two authors I discovered this year and fell in love with. Can‘t wait to see what 2023 brings!
This book was fairy tale magic! A Persian retelling of Cinderella that I've heard described as The City of Brass meets An Ember in the Ashes, which I think is accurate. I can't wait for the next book!
What in the actual audacity did I just read. What in the ever loving universe was that ending? Why? How dare. I regret only because the next book is not immediately available to me.
Final book of the summer so far. I wanted to love this. I really did. I couldn't get into it so I tried the audiobook. I'm not sure if it was the narration that didn't fit the story or the almost awkward way it was written or maybe the insta-love trope coupled with "of course she's special" but I was not impressed. Will I read the next book? Probably but I'm not going to rush when it comes out. A book this pretty should have been better
Loved this. It was basically a Cinderella retelling inspired by Persian mythology. Great characters, great worldbuilding, beautiful prosaic writing. Wish it had a faster pace though.
#readingbracket2022 I‘ve been reading Tahereh Mafi books the entire month of June so it‘s no wonder that my June pick This Woven Kingdom beat out my May pick. Thanks again @chasjjlee for the perfect reading bracket flow chart!
My Tahereh Mafi kick continues. I love finding a new author that I want to devour every book. I love a story with hidden identities, forbidden romances and epic fantasy- and this one had it all! Love the Persian mythology elements and fell in love with all of the characters. Cannot wait for book 2 as that was quite an ending! #seriesread2022
I really loved this story, the world building and the characters. It has romance, a forgotten queen and a Prince ready to took the throne. It's the first in a trilogy inspired by Persian mythology.
I really enjoyed this one. Alizeh is wonderful and I hope to see her succeed and happy in the sequels.

@TheAromaofBooks
Just finished this YA Cinderella retelling. It was cute, and I liked the insertion of Middle Eastern culture but otherwise it was a very typical YA fairytale retelling. It is the beginning of a series, but I don‘t think I was hooked enough to continue. 3⭐️

First book done for #20in4
Alizeh, stitched in the kitchen by the light of star and fire, sitting, as she often did, curled up inside the hearth.
(Nice Cinderella vibes!)

@Gissy Thank you so much for my wonderful #springequinoxswap box! #SES I absolutely love the incense kit and cute Taurus notebook! The candle smells amazing as well 🥰 You put together a fantastic box! @Chrissyreadit @sprainedbrain
I truly enjoyed this read. A tad predictable but in a way that was sweet and engaging. A whole lot different from her previous series. #readingchallenge2022
🎧 I have no idea what‘s wrong with me, first The Love Hypothesis & now this …
Not my typical book but I loved it! Easy & sweet. Tropey but fun!!
MC is a Djinn. Escaped persecution & is now an abused servant. A chance encounter with a prince who she is supposed to be at odds with.

When the delivery driver comes knocking and you greet him with "Hello My Love" and your spouse of many years hears you and wonders why he doesn't get any love. I'm sorry but "Hey Asshole" is a much more earned term of endearment in my book ??
Also, I completely forgot that I preordered this so yay #SurpriseBookMail ??
