Book 313 12/16/19
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟5 🌟
At once this book is funny, but it is also terrifying. It‘s horrifying that it actually has to exist at all. In a Dr. Suess kind of way Michael Ian Black breaks down the cheeto in chief to his basic traits, and even though it is all bad, it can at times seem good (even though the adult in me knows it is not). So turn off your device and read a book. Trump admits he doesn‘t read, and you don‘t want to be like him.

A funny book, but it is very politically driven.
The beasty is called an American Trump.
Its skin is bright orange, its figure is plump.
Its fur so complex you might get enveloped.
Its hands though are, sadly, underdeveloped.
I think that this book is funny and it does have a good rhythm. However, I do not think that it is appropriate for a classroom setting. It being a childrens about politics can be a overstepping in the classroom.
“It thrives in the most contentious conditions and excretes the most appalling emissions.”
Although I thought it was funny and entertaining, I definitely wouldn‘t read this in a classroom. The political aspect isn‘t something my students need to be concerned about and their parents can teach them that. However, if I had my own children, I would buy this.
This book is not only funny, but also informative of the current political climate. It brings up important topics in an easy and funny way so that‘s children can understand. Also, I don‘t like Trump so this is a good way to introduce how terrible his presidency has been through a book.
I have a younger cousin who‘s a meme freak. It‘s all she ever shares. Sometimes I get excited about them & google them for verification (like a nerd). Today, she shared one that said Trump is the first President since 1897 not to have a dog (which tells you everything you need to know). It‘s true! I also found this article which killed me so I‘m sharing 😂:

The rhymes are fun and the illustrations are very Seuss-esque. I really wanted to love this book. I probably would have if I read it when it was first published rather than 7 months into this disaster of a presidency. I know it's just meant for laughs, but ignoring a Trump is probably the worst thing to do.
A gift from my father in law that I don't want in my house. Plus so far, ignoring a Trump hasn't solved any problems. I guess it's too soon for it to seem funny.
Yesterday was my birthday and I actually got books! Some cookbooks and a Trump book from my father in law, two southern food books, Book of Dissent, and In the Shelter from my husband; and a signed edition of the Thien that came all the way from Japan (thank you @shawnmooney 😚💃) (2/2)
A good quick little book. Definitely pick it up if you can. My library has it, yours might too.
Um not really for children. And hilarious.
I just had this convo with a customer again:
Some guy: "Why do you have this book about Trump for kids?!?!?!"
me: "Well, its actually satirical, and makes fun of Trump, which is why its in our humor section. You should read the first few pages, its quite funny."
SG: "Well its called A Child's Book of...looks like a kids book to me!"
me: "Take a look, really, its funny."
SG: "Is he a Trump supporter?"
me: so many sighs #bookstorelife
MAKE READING GREAT AGAIN!
Trump has taken my town hostage today with a giant rally that has shut down the downtown core most of the day and caused giant traffic backups everywhere. This is my knee-jerk reaction whenever closeminded people dump all over my life. Chant with me: Freedom of information! Reading for all! Vote Granger/Lovegood!
For you @Posemn ??
I couldn't figure out my favorite to post. "Best other stuff." ? ???????
OMG THIS PICTURE OF TRUMP 🗣💨
😂😂😂
Barnes & Noble finds are the best.
Dr. Seuss-esque with spot-on political satire. Read it while I waited in line to buy some of my textbooks yesterday (it was on a table with election related books) and had to fight to keep from laughing out loud.
Such a great book. Both of my kids (10 and 12) got a kick out of the smartly written rhyme and illustrations. Definitely a great read this year.
So hilarious, written in a style like Dr.Seuss. Quite great if you're anti-trump
This was a featured book at my #localbookstore, Cellar Door Books in Riverside. I freakin love this place.
😂😂😂
Whilst I sadly do not possess my own copy, this is my favorite political book. An incisive look at a current candidate for the young reader in all of us.
Some levity for those of us wondering what exactly happened. Short, cheerful read.
This book tries to explain what a Trump is. The rhyme and illustrations are hysterical and the pictures strikingly lifelike. For those frustrated, turn off the convention and check out Black's book. Time better spent!
written in the style of Dr. Seuss. I couldn't help myself.
Good example of satire.
