This book has been my favorite for years and it‘s one that I always come back to, but it was such a new experience having the artwork to go with the story. It made everything that much more heart wrenching and touching and just brought the story one step further 10 out of 10 would recommend. 😄

The hunger games is an amazing story set in a dystopian future. It starts off with our main characters (katnise Everdeen) sister being chosen for the Hunger Games. The hunger games consists of 1 male and 1 female from each district being chosen at random to fight in an arena until one remains on top. Katnise must survivor and fight her way through everyone else competing to live.
If you like books that talk about dystopia future you‘d love this
Fun re-read! Peeta is still a dream boat. Picking up more on the political and more nuanced references to history than I did in middle school
Up next…one of those series everyone has read but me!

I am reading these for the first time. I never knew much of the story or ever saw any of the movies. I guess I assumed the basic storyline. But reading this was so good. I sprinted through it in under 24 hours as I just had to keep reading. I don‘t know anything about what‘s to come but I will keep reading.
So I haven't been active this last year because my wedding didn't have chance to read planning it myself walked down aisle to hunger games song too. TW: Than also had to have emergency surgery in August for ruptured ectopic pregnancy we named her Amethyst Moon we've been trying forever and made it that much harder. Also idk if I ever updated on the cancer the cancer markers are low which is good.

To me Katniss shows a lot of “dauntless” personality when she in the arena.
I've read this book three different times, and each time, I appreciated it differently.
This last time around, I borrowed the special edition read by Tatiana Maslany, and I was utterly sucked back into district 12, among the dirt and turmoil as I had to listen to Maslany narrate this in Katniss' POV and she sounds exactly as I imagined Katniss would be.

To be honest I got really bored of the book, maybe because I watched the movies already and I know how ends. I couldn‘t really visualize the scenes like usual when I read books.
Out for our exercise today during Victoria's current lockdown (with another 7 day extension I've just heard).
Got my water, my coffee, my knitting and my book.
My 12 yr old daughter is reading The Hunger Games at the moment so I'm reading along with her. My first time reading. Enjoying it so far 😊
So this has sparked a lot of mixed feelings for me. It hovers between pick and so-so and finally settled for the latter. The concept and the imagination are really good but I feel it lacks the implementation. The main character is flawed which is nice, it makes them human to me rather just book heroes who are all mighty and strong. Coming to the harsh regime and the capitol I don't get how can they be so advanced with flying cameras, (continued⤵️)
100 pages in, the story is all around the place right now. I like katniss but a few of her points are straight up weird for me. Maybe it will change with time.
Also I completed my 1000/1000 pages for #NutsInMay Now would pushing for 1500.
Katniss motivates everyone around her.
1. Yes I have. I have listened to a number of books this way; some of them have included the tagged book, The Ocean at the End of the Lane and some others. I have an CD player that I have used to listen to them. It‘s how I got into audiobooks.
2. I mostly listen to podcasts while reading.

I took a chance last week and ordered a grab bag of shirts from Out of Print. Must say I‘m pleased with my bag. And since I got a bonus tote, I‘d say the odds were in my favor.
Yes, Katniss! She is so powerful and strong. She did whine a bit too much about the whole love affair, but that could just be her age. I loved Rue, I loved Cinna, I loved the arena with all the plottwists happening everyday. It had been years since I read this serie, and it was as good as I remember!

This SF and New York Times Bestseller book by Suzanne Collins is an absolute page-turner! The book is so captivating and action-packed, it was quite difficult to put down. Having students do an IR for this book would be best, due to the fact this book may not interest everyone with heavier topics. https://www.rif.org/literacy-central/book/hunger-games #ucflae3414sp21
This SF, LC multi award winning and NY Times Best seller is a great series to use with small groups in your classroom, and is a favorite among students. This dystopian novel highlights the struggles of poverty and perseverance. Katniss Everdeen volunteers to fight other children to the death in order to save her sister from her potential demise. In the end, Katniss discovers the major hardships of her world, and what needs to be done to fix it.
Man why did I not what to read this book when it came out? So good definitely will be reading the next book in the series
(Effie Trinket voice) Happy Hunger Games episode release day! 🎉 On the new episode of my podcast, it‘s FINALLY time to tackle this pop culture behemoth of the aughts. This conversation is soooo much bigger than the books or the movies and covers everything from women in the public eye and the brutalities of entertainment to the realities of privilege and whether or not we *really* care about that love triangle. Link to listen in my bio!
I started this #Audiobook.
Usually I‘m slow to get on the bandwagon when there‘s a bunch of hype over a series. But I felt compelled to read this one. And it also helps I‘m interested in archery 🏹 which Katniss excels at.
This is a series I love and always will. The concept the writing everything was perfect about it. I wish they would have put more of the book in the movie.
I'm making a real conscious effort to to re-read the gems I refuse to give up from my bookshelves this year. I started this series again the other night. I've only read through #thehungergames once and I'm really enjoying reading through the book again.

Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor. #January2021
Wow! Just wow! 👏 Thank you Suzanne Collins for writing this wonderful book. I cannot wait to read the next book. 📖
Nothing better than a dystopian novel that makes your own dystopian life less disturbing. If you've missed the whole Hunger Games hype this is a great read. I would definitely recommend reading the series before watching the movies, so you can enjoy the same rage I had when everything I imagined got smashed to pieces. You'd think i'd have learned by now that the book is always better.
Here‘s my review for the first book I‘ve read this year but this one is a reread for me because I want to continue with this trilogy. I want to find out if Katniss and Peeta end up together.
#Confident Katniss Everdeen... her name even sounds confident 🏹

Read this for the first time. Never seen the movie. Loved it! Can't wait for book 2! Highly recommend!
It's absolutely great. I love it so much. I'm sure everyone will love it. The story is crazy. 12 districts 24 tributes, only one can survive.
I read this series years ago and I‘ve watched the movies plenty of times but listening to the reaping made me get all choked up and teary eyed. It‘s so moving and angering.
