I enjoyed this one. Put a little more detail in the #CBBC journal. I love the whole “think outside“ the box aspect of it as well.

Anyway, It will be one I would strongly consider picking up the 2nd book. I do like these characters. (especially the doggies!)

This was a good cozy about Lena who just got her dream job of ghost writing for her favorite Novelist Camilla Graham. Camilla gives off some very Anne Rice type vibes. Loved Camilla's German Shepherds Rochester and Heathcliff. Also there is a murder.

Another book down in my #52mysteries challenge.

A fun cozy mystery set at a beautiful lakeside house. A young woman gets her dream job as an assistant to her favorite author. There‘s a cat, two dogs, lots of delicious food, a handsome neighbor, and … MURDER.

I really enjoyed this #cbbc book choice. Fun cozy about a young writer teaming up with a favorite author, house with secrets, small town gossip and of course a little potential romance. Sending it to you @Kshakal

#GratefulHarvest - Cozy: I didn‘t know about using the phrase “cozy” to describe this genre of books until a few years ago. After getting the lowdown, I thought that is a perfect descriptive term for these type of gentle murder mysteries filled with warm, likable amateur sleuths, small town or village settings and quirky characters.
I really enjoy the ones revolving around bookstores, book clubs, writing societies and tea societies.👇🏽

I liked that there was two mysteries in this book. There was also a reference to “The Fugitive” which I enjoyed watching with my family a few years ago. Plus the second mystery leads you to the next book. It has been great reading with you everyone! #LMPBC #GroupW #Round9

It was a good read for the first days of fall, fun and light. The story is not a pick because murder too easily wrapped up, love interests and deep friendships too stereotypical.

This was a nice little cozy. It is my first #Bookspinbingo and #cozyinthesun read for this month as well as my #LMPBC #GroupW pick.
First off, I want Lena's life. The job, the house, the town. Wow!
The main murder mystery was okay but the secondary mystery is more intriguing and will spill over into the next book.

It transformed me back to Famous Five days 😄

I'm blown away by this wonderful box of #cozyswap goodies! Thank you soooooo much @Avanders ! The books are perfect, the tazo zen is one of my favorite green teas, the blanket is the perfect thickness for fall days, and even though its 85 degrees, I'm trying the oreo hot chocolate tonight. Thank you again for the gift and for hosting. You're amazing!!

Needed a change of pace so started this one put the first mistake to the side, I felt myself getting into a slump and not wanting to read. So far I‘m on chapter 4 and I‘m liking it.

3.75/5 . I enjoyed the story within a story and found Camilla to be very likeable. I‘m interested to see how the relationship and novel writing plays out with Camilla and Lena. I found Lena to be somewhat lacking. She made some perplexing choices and was a tad too damsel like for me at times. The romance felt rushed. Overall enjoyable and I‘ll check the next book out to see how it develops.

#litsywalkers I‘ve never seen a yellow fire hydrant before. I took the picture 2 days ago when it was sunny. Today is cloudy, overcast, and cold which does not make for good pictures 😂

Just under 4 miles on my audio walk with #litsywalkers . After three days of 80 degrees it‘s a beautiful and brisk 52. Folks down here are cold but I‘m in heaven. I‘m literally the only person outside 😂

I've wanted to read all these books and I love all the treats; from the socks, to the great note paper, to all the candy. It's a truly great Halloween. I'll have some of the tea tonight. Oh, and the panda is super cute!

I have a yen for murder mysteries and I especially like to follow series. It seems like visiting old friends when you can continue hooking up with them from book to book. This is the first in a new series about a writer and her wanna be writer assistant. I will be looking forward to reading the second one.

Wow! What a great cozy! I couldn‘t put it down. It had such a great setting and mystery and this appreciation for writers of this genre. It also left a perfect setup for the next book. Juno and I will be waiting. 🤓

@Avanders put this one on my radar, so when I came across the audio in hoopla, I gave it a whirl. 😄

A unique premise - a budding writer getting to be the live-in assistant/ghostwriter for her favorite author. A few mysteries are woven together, some of which are resolved by the end of the book & others carried over to the next. You get a feeling of closure, while at the same time an eagerness to pick up book 2. NB I don't LOVE the characters 😬

I loved this cozy... I loved that there was a mystery within a mystery! Such a neat twist that I haven‘t read before in a cozy!! Great characters, both human and animal, and a great plot!! This book is top notch in my book!!

Good thing I can read #mounttbrreadathon anywhere... sitting in the emergency room with my dad.....

I am excited to dive into this one... I love Buckley‘s other cozy series and hope that this one is just as good!! #ilovecozies

The last book I finished was the tagged book, which I'd describe as Satisfying. #onebookoneword
I love a well-done cozy, and this one was that: well done. It had the sprawling mansion in a touristy/secluded area, one or more potential love interests, a spattering of good side characters, a mentor of sorts, cozy mystery weather, and of course a mystery or two to solve. I've immediately started listening to the second (on audio).

As a writer, I liked this book on a different level: a writer working with her author idol. Each chapter started with a brief excerpt from the novel they were working on (which of course corresponded with THIS novel). Cozy mystery with just enough wrapped up to be satisfying. Only real problem is a personal one - a cliffhanger ending. My TBR pile is already longer than my lifespan-I don't like feeling "forced" into a series.

Microwave popcorn for lunch, bare feet up, reading a mindless novel, deepest thought of the day so far: "Coffee good." Actually novel isn't as mindless as I thought it might be. About a budding writer working with a famous author. Well written, easy read. Not far enough in for a true assessment.
