Book 27 in the Hamish Macbeth series is another pick. The murders are getting more and more creative, and this one had a couple of creepy children à la Agatha Christie. 4⭐️

Hamish kept me company all day yesterday as I cleaned the house and finally put the Christmas decorations away. 😆 Hamish along with Agatha Raisin are my comfort listens and I love both series. Highly recommended if you like cozy murder mysteries. 4⭐️

Book 25 in the Hamish Macbeth series is a good one. Hamish almost gets faux baby trapped at the altar. His love life is a mess as always. The murders in this book were particularly gruesome. Love this series. 4⭐️

I really liked Ellery Adams' Secret, Book & Scone Society series, so when I saw this, I knew it had to be my pick for this month's #ThematicCozies!
@julieclair

julieclair I like this series, but haven‘t read this one. Enjoy! 2w

January BOTM picks are live!

What are we thinking?!

AmyG I skipped because I have so many books on my pile. But I would have picked Andromeda. 3w
Sace I was torn between Andromeda and A Killing Cold and went with A Killing Cold. I think I was a little scared of the “highbrow” and “cerebral” descriptors. 3w
bookish_wookish Im also thinking of skipping @AmyG 3w
bookish_wookish None of them are jumping out at me! @Sace 3w
Sace That was me last month. I skipped December. 3w

I had such a good time with #SeasonalCozies this year, of course I‘m going to join #ThematicCozies in 2025. Tagged is my pick for January‘s #Animal theme. First in the series & free to listen to on Audible.

I also found I‘d skipped a short story for the Shady Hollow series so I‘m going to read it as a bonus even if it‘s Halloween based. The SH series became a favorite this year & features a community of animals. I‘ll tag the first book ⬇️

DebinHawaii … in case you need a good animal cozy & haven‘t found this series. #SeriesLove2024 3w
BookmarkTavern There‘s a Halloween short story?!? 🎃 (edited) 3w
DebinHawaii @BookmarkTavern Yes! I saw it when I was putting my review for the Christmas short story on Goodreads. Apparently it came out last year!🤷🏻‍♀️ 3w

julieclair That looks fun! And free is always good! 👍 I‘m reading Shady Hollow as my selection this month. So excited to finally be starting the series! 3w
DebinHawaii @julieclair I hope you like it as much as I do! 3w
ChasingOm Ooh, I bought the first book a year or so ago but it‘s still unread on my shelf. 😅 2w

A perfectly capable sheriff is looking for the murderer, and once again our “curious” (aka nosy) main character cannot let him do his work, putting herself in dangerous situations that take away the sheriff‘s concentration. I like the stories and the writing, but I am put out by this repeat stupidity in book two of the series. I get it. Her best friend has been jailed for the crime. But the sheriff doesn‘t believe she did it either! She has ⬇️

Texreader too much time on her hands, that‘s what I think. Hopefully in book 3, she‘s taken over the new inn at Reindeer Games and will be too busy to play investigator. 3w

When a magazine photo shoot goes wrong, Angie and Mel are forced to bake cupcakes with the magazine staff. There‘s a lot of drama in this one, and it‘s not just the murder! Good listen and story, though I‘m now a bit exasperated with Mel. 😂

First off in my #12BooksOf2024 is this one from the creator of Death In Paradise, Robert Thorogood. I always enjoy his writing.

@Andrew65

Andrew65 I enjoyed the first one of this series earlier this year, but not yet got to the others. 3w
