You know it‘s been a long day as you settle in for what should be your first night mug of honeyed tea at 1:30 in the morning when that first mug is usually made at 10 pm. 😂🤣👏🏻🙈

Taking a moment out of my crazy day of playing catch up to have a cup of tea in my new mug ❤ Hope you Littens are surviving Monday! 😙😙
Congrats on your milestone @abbsinwonderland !!!
What gets me through? Sometimes it's a quiet morning snuggle with one (or both) of my little dudes, sometimes it's a quiet cup of tea, and sometimes it's getting away from it all and hiking through the forest.
Thanks for the tag, @teebe I'm going to tag my #LMPBC ladies, @DebbieGrillo @CouronneDhiver and @drokka
Thank you for the generous giveaway!!! #AbbsGiveawayWonderland
Settling in with with selection for the #LMPBC and a cuppa, and I just had to share - how cute is my new Christmas mug?!?! I love him 😁
(Neither the pictured book nor the tagged one are my book club selection, I'm keeping that a secret from @CouronneDhiver @DebbieGrillo and @drokka )
I very much enjoyed this book in all its sparsity and character stereotyping. I flew through it, which is unusual for me with any book, and found myself excited to go back to it. It oozes with drama and pieces of the time period. It also explores a range of issues, some of which are enduring and some are more specific to the time period.
My best friend lives in Virginia so we have to do Christmas by mail. She knows me too well!
"And though she might not be able to control the rest of her life, it was clear she was going to have whatever she wanted for dinner."
I like how Eleanor kept her head from the very beginning. All she needed was for people to look beyond the outward appearances which gave the impression that she needed to be looked after. Nothing was further from the truth. FUN FACT: Amy is Nora Ephron's little sister. Yes, THAT Nora Ephron
Pity, responsibility, romance, betrayal, loyalty, denial. It's all right here in this novel set in 1917 New York. There are more heart-stopping moments than one would imagine in a book this size. It takes a skilled writer to elicit sympathy for a "side chick." But Ephron does so here.
In the early chapters I realized I had started this book before. The setting of 1917 New York and the character of a mysterious young woman form the backdrop for Ephron's charming tale. Can't recall why I stopped reading before. The plot unfolds . . . 👩👨🏼👩🏻
TITLE ENCOUNTERED IN NARRATIVE:
"C--could I--?" the creature stammered. "Could I ask you for some money--enough for a cup of tea?"
Encountered earlier than usual (page 8).
I've had this book for ages. The cover is what attracted me. Chapter 2 had me at "antique shop." This will be a welcome lunchtime escape. It's small enough for just about any handbag.
