⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Like any short story collection, some hits and misses. Note that this is a collection curated by Dahl, not written by him. The into he writes is great and points out that he feels that women make better ghost story writers.
This was my #bookspin for February @TheAromaofBooks
I've read it a while ago. I initially bought this book because I thought these were stories written by Roald Dahl himself, so that was a bit of a dissappointment. Some stories I enjoyed. Some were okay. I gave it two stars on Goodreads.
249 pages.
I have just never been a huge fan of short stories, there isn't enough time for me to build my relationship with the characters. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick

'- the idea of eternity is tiring; you feel that you want to stop. But that's because you are thinking of eternity in terms of Time, and mumbling in your brain, "And after that, and after that?" Don't you grasp the idea that in eternity there isn't any "after", any more than there is any "before"? It's all one. Eternity isn't a quantity: it's a quality.'

Of course, I want to hear ghost stories sitting around a campfire. The tagged has a good selection.
A fabulous collection of Roald Dahl‘s favourite ghost stories, with a great foreword by him. The two stories of imaginary friends gave me the most chills; my daughter had an imaginary friend when she was three, she told us he couldn‘t come with us when we moved house! Thank you @Emilymdxn for another hit.
Thank you @Emilymdxn for my fantastic #CreepyChristmas gifts. The books are so me and I can‘t wait to start them, and the Lush bubble-bar smells divine, I wish they did home fragrance.
Pretty quick read. Some stories were creepier than others but some definitely had that eerie atmosphere that gave you chills. Fun for this month especially! Glad to have it off my TBR! Now I may be close to another bingo for #bookspinbingo 🤞🏼
Feel like I should wait until night but I‘m also a big baby with a way too active imagination. Got some football on and going to start this. I‘ve had this on my shelf for a few years and every October I tell myself “now is the time to read this” and finally I‘m going to try and do it! 😅
Last Roald Dahl book for me and this was a good one. This was a gathering of his favorite ghost stories. My favorite was The Corner Shop by Cynthia Asquith.

1. I‘m normally not big on milk chocolate BUT I do like fun size candy bars like Snickers, Twix and Butterfinger.
2. Oh man, both!
3. Shot glasses from travels and Funko Pops.
4. Sanderson sisters, Oogie Boogie, Pennywise. I‘m big into ghost stories too. Oh and scariest monster villains ever are the Skeksis from Dark Crystal and The Gentlemen from Buffy.

Congrats to AMB - idk why Litsy won‘t let me tag her?? She‘s doing a very generous giveaway for hitting 5K! #litsymademe5k
My last pick for #spooktober was perfect. This isn‘t a book of ghost stories written by Dahl, but rather a collection of the best ghost stories by others that he edited. His intro explains that when developing a show that never came to fruition he read basically every ghost story ever. This is the compilation of the best ones, and they‘re pretty great. Highly recommend.
#spooktober wrap-up! Read some pretty great ones this month. Will post reviews for the last couple soon. Plan to focus on mostly new releases and ARCs for the rest of 2018.
Book of collected short ghost stories with a slightly misogynistic introduction by Dahl. Women write good ghost stories and children‘s books, not so much other kinds of books. Most of the stories were written quite awhile ago, and there are a couple that dragged a bit, but generally pretty good.
I have always loved Roald Dahl‘s work and this is proving to be no exception. A collection of kid friendly ghost stories with a twist
There is nothing quite like enjoying a ghost story while snuggled up with a kitty on a gloomy day.
Any Roald Dahl fans? I am! These ghost story's adults are great ! If you loved any of his books you will love this one! These are a collection of his favorite!

So since my package took forever to arrive and I was feeling guilty of it I didn't open my #CupidGoesPostal till last night. And I love it! The Linth chocolates are my favorite chocolates in the world so in less than 2 hours they were gone. The mug is already in use. The socks will be in my feet this weekend. And the books look amazing. I was dreaming with the one of Dahl and #thegirlwhocamehome looks amazing. Thanks a lot @PenguinInFlight
Thank you so much @bookish_wookish I love everything! 3 books, a Día de Los Muertos coloring book, an awesome tote, and a whole bunch of fun little goodies. Everything is perfect! ? I don‘t really like slasher or big names like King and Koonz but I can totally handle reading scary stories geared towards children and only have to leave a nightlight on at bedtime. ? Also, ghosts are some of my favorite. #mybloodyvalentineswap
I'm probably not the best person to judge this book as I'm not keen on short stories! I find them superficial and kinda pointless; I read to get lost in a story, short stories don't give you enough time! Reminds me of speed dating!!!
🎶It's the most wonderful time of the year...🎶 #Halloween #spooky #ghoststories
