pickBecause of the cover, I nearly dismissed this one as a cheesy insta love romance BUT! There's little to no focus on romance at all, it's actually a fast paced tale of two very different people having to work together to stop the Massada Run, a suicide mission happening in 20 days. I really enjoyed this book.

pickThis was a quick, fun read - I actually listened to most of it and the narrators were really good. I‘ll definitely continue with the series.
I tend to go through phases with my reading and I feel like I‘m at the beginning of a distinct sci-fi trend... not a genre I‘ve ever read much of, but I‘ve really enjoyed the last few I‘ve picked up!
I lost some steam on this one toward the end. I‘ve read books with a similar “what makes a person” theme (Ancillary Justice, A Closed and Common Orbit) that were better & I kept thinking about them as I read! Enjoyed my read though, especially with a friend‘s elderly pup, Ava, to keep me company. #dogsoflitsy

Getting Battlestar Galactica vibes from this one—which is making me want to rewatch the series! I‘ve only seen it all the way through once, & it took me about two years.

Also have Strange the Dreamer going on audio and a book I started in February (!!!) that needs reading. pickWow. This was a fantastic read. I don‘t have the right words, but man, so so good. Set far in the future (2527, I think?) where earth is no longer a nice planet to live on, and there are 4 other inhabitable planets connected by gates in space... a story about a human solider and a Mech- sophisticated one of a kind robot- I didn‘t want to put it down. Great characters, fast paced, romance, mystery. Loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A YA sci-fi space opera that isn‘t annoying at all. Come for the characters, the writing, and the action. Stay for the stark view of future humans desperately colonizing and destroying other worlds after wrecking Earth and the philosophical questions about artificial intelligence. Entertaining and smart.
Definitely sets up for the sequel, but I‘m down for that.

pickWhat I truly loved about this book was the author‘s ability to make you question what truly makes us human. Noemi is a loner not fitting in any world because she can‘t open up while Abel is the only one of his kind so is alone in his own way. But they find out what makes each other human because of what they see in each other. Whoever said ‘love isn‘t enough‘ is way too sour for me!

Just finished this book today. It was brilliant. Absolutely so.
Our two protagonists are well written and each character had their own chapters from their perspective which was really lovely insight to the feelings of each of them. A truly enjoyable adventure story. Can't wait to read the sequel!
While certainly more dangerous, Abel's #Quality of life improves when Noemi stumbles across his lonely ship, drags him into quite an adventure, and gives him new purpose. #QuotsyNov17
I know this wasn‘t a favorite of many but I enjoyed it. I think it fits the lyrics for today‘s prompt pretty well! Naomi, a human, is trying to save her planet, Genesis. Abel, a machine with advanced intelligence who has begun to evolve, was abandoned in space and wants to go home to protect his creator. pickThis book surprised me in a great way. Yes, there were cool space battles like I was expecting. But there were also deep thoughts about robots and what separates them from man.
bailedTwilight with vampires. Twilight with angels. Now Twilight with android alien threats. Basically a YA sci-fi story where the remaining human population is battling humanoid, robot threats called Mechs in space. Main character is a female soldier who falls in love with an enemy vacuum cleaner and together the have to battle the Big Bad. Sorry, story was dull and not engaging enough for me to finish. Skip it.
Have I told you how much I love audiobooks? I know there are others out there like me that LOVE to read but have a hard time sitting still and focusing. The access to audiobooks from my library and audible have helped me so much in getting back into being an everyday reader! Just started Defy the Stars. I've been reading #Saga this week and it looks like this will be just as fun!

Abel from Earth and Noemi from Genesis are unlikely to be friends let alone embark on a journey and yet they do. Artificial Intelligence and a human in space together. Such an unlikely combo, but very well done ✅ 🙌🏼👌🏼

pickThis was a good sci-fi about artificial intelligence, faith versus science, the good of the individual versus the good of the group, and what makes a person. But, it could have been great. I just found the AI to be too simple, and the romance (and I love romance) too convenient. It works, but I wish it went deeper. #ya #pugsoflitsy #dogsoflitsy
