Tessa Dare is one of my go-to authors for regency romance. Another great story!
Plus Carmen Rose is a fantastic narrator. I‘m enjoying this series as I work on my Lego bookshop.
Book 3 for #Joyousjanuary
Book 2 for #pantone2022
Isolde Goodnight is awesome. She‘s the “star” of a series of books and the queen of the reader fandom. Pure magic. She‘s down in her luck until she inherits a castle.
Ransom, our sexy, blind Duke still lives in said castle and he‘s none too happy about the changes coming his way.
Such a fun book!
Another smart, practical heroine from Tess Dare ♥️
4/5
A fun romance with a castle in disrepair and a hero and heroine in dispute over who owns it. It was a good romance with plenty of twists throughout.
This was a great story, had great tension between the characters, and was so fun! I would read this one again. I‘m kind of amazed how some romances, and even some of Dare‘s books can be so good while others are really a miss.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Light funny and romantic pretty much describes my reading preferences right now
I absolutely loved this story and want to read everything she‘s ever written and I‘m not even a romance person. The heroine has a ferret and a cosplaying fandom. Sold
Looks like I needed something else light and fluffy and this was great. I‘d been recommended Tessa Dare and I was impressed. Although simpler than Courtney Milan IMO, it was still very enjoyable. I do like a grumpy hero with a heart of gold and a straight talking, strong minded heroine. Also explicit - so not for the faint of heart 😂😂
So. Much. Plot. Also quite mad. I like Tessa Dare‘s newer stuff, but this was not my favourite. Never mind.
Next historical romance read from the library...
Holy cow, Tessa dropped a 3🌟on me.
I did not get along as well with this novel as I had her others. Much disappoint! It's good just not a favourite!
Daughter of a fairy tale author never doubts that romance is in her future, but as she grows up she strikes off the fairy tales one after the next.
Now she's settle for a roof over her head and Ransom the man of the castle has much to say.
This is the second Tessa Dare I've read, after When a Scot Ties the Knot, and it was even more fun & satisfying. She has a way of combining wildly different plot threads -- storybooks! Ferrets! Knights and handmaidens! Scurrilous solicitors! -- and making it all make a wonderful kind of sense by the end.
A lovely romance about a lonely woman and an injured, bitter man who unexpectedly come together and create a wonderful community.

My first Tessa Dare and it was pretty good! I love Regency romances with really outlandish plots, strong heroines and slightly broken heroes. So, boxes definitely checked! Carmen Rose did a good job narrating. Definitely an amusing way to spend a few hours. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 1/2 #romantsy
Couldn‘t get into this historical #tomantsy , I really enjoyed the other books I‘ve read by this author but not this one. I didn‘t really connect with the main characters. A definite so-so for me
This was just the right kind of romance for a quick fluffy read. Some steamy scenes, an unrealistic story, both people are all in pretty quickly, some silliness and a happily ever after. Perfect palate cleanser or transition book for me.
#babyitscoldoutside so I‘m trying out a hot romance (ok- lukewarm, it‘s not Outlander)- but my brain is mush and needs an easy distraction. #winterwonderland
This was a fun standard romance novel. I‘ve read this series totally out of order, but I don‘t really think it matters.
Gosh this was adorable!
Isolde Ophelia Goodnight is destitute now that her father is dead. Her only hope is an inheritance from her godfather. Of course, it turns out to be a ruined castle infested with rats, bats, and a grumpy duke who finds out that his ancestral home has been fraudulently sold.
Ransom, Duke of Rothbury, was injured in a duel after his fiancée ran away with another man. He is now blind, scarred inside and out, and hiding away from the world.
Cute!
I give up. More than being annoyed at naive heroine and dick hero, I just don't care. I read like 275/405 pages and realized I just had no desire whatsoever to find out how they get their inevitable HEA because it was boring.
Alphaholes 👏Are 👏 Not 👏 Sexy 👏
I can get on board with brooding, alpha male heroes with a redemptive arc -- to a point. It's fuzzy, I'll be first to admit that as Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale. Right now this is on the other side of that line for me. Maybe of the heroine wasn't so insistent that a good, gentle soul waiting to be redeemed by TWUE WUV waited underneath despite zero fucking evidence of it.
I loved this! It was so sweet and funny! I adored the characters and the story. Just fantastic!
Thank you @swishandflick for the recommendation months ago - I should have read this sooner!
I'm definitely going to read more by Tessa Dare.
#romance
I started reading this the other day and it's delightful so far! I still feel like I'm new to #romance but I think I'll like this one!
#tessadare
This might be the only somewhat cool place in all of Kansas City today!
@Daisey I got your card, and this post is for you. Yes. Yes ,you do. #treatyoself
Dukes in romance novels are dashing, handsome, and occasionally mysterious. The above photo is of the current Duke of York. Real life is so disappointing.
That beautiful moment when there is a Star Wars joke in a your trashy Regency romance novel. 😍
"Oh,but this gift isn't the same as an ermine. This is property. Don't you understand how rare that is for a woman? Property always belongs to our fathers, brothers, husbands, sons. We never get to own anything."
"Don't tell me you're one of those women with radical ideas."
"No", she returned."I'm one of those women with nothing. There are a great many of us."
Izzy is such a brave and determined character. She has been subjected to some odd and terrible circumstances but makes the best of it. Ransom has been trying to recover from a life changing accident when Izzy storms into his life and changes everything. I love how Izzy is so practical and almost tried to kill any attempts at her imagination soaring. There is some fun with a children's story that is a blessing and curse on her life.
So this is my first romance novel ever! I am planning on starting it in the next week or two. I really want to explore this genre and would love some other good "beginner" recommendations.
Also any thoughts on this one? I picked it up because a podcast recommended it as a good starting point if you wanted to get into romance...
Not too long ago I would have been all, good god, no romance novels! I still haven't really read more than a few - all by Sarah MacLean - but I'm more open to reading them now. So here I am taking a stab at Tessa Dare and some waffles.
Happy weekend you guys!
Yep! Totally loved this! Gonna jump straight into the next book in the series! Tessa Dare, you rock my world! #Romantsy #Cosplay #KickAssHeroine How have I not read this before now?! Can I be Izzy when I grow up? I mean, seriously, loved EVERYTHING about this book!
#VaginalFantasy pick #GloryToTheGuild!!!
🤣😂🤣OMFG!!! I‘M DYING RIGHT NOW!!!! The Star Wars references in this book are just too damn good!
#GloryToTheGuild
😂😂😂*kussshhh* “Luke, I am your father.” * kussshhh* I love it! Yay, for Star Wars references!😍🤓✨
#GloryToTheGuild
I WAS planning to finish off some of my current reads before I started up mount TBR again. WAS. But I got so frustrated with my last read, I need something I know I can happily get into! So, I‘m going with an author I have recently gotten acquainted with (Thanks girls! #GloryToTheGuild!) and also happens to be a past #VaginalFantasy pick I haven‘t read yet! Yay! I can‘t wait to dig in to this one! Tessa Dare, you get all the heart eyed emoji‘s! 😍
Okay, I haven't been happy with a romance novel, pretty much, ever. I've only made it through one, begrudgingly, one time. I'm pretty sure I was still in my teens. This one was recommended by a friend, and I'm flipping pages like a mad woman. So steamy, so smart. I dig it.
SWOON! Tessa Dare is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine, I smell a binge-read coming on! This story was wonderfully romantic with delightful, imperfect characters, steamy chemistry, and a refreshingly unexpected plot. I loved every second and gobbled it up almost in one sitting ❤️
PS: this e-book is currently on sale for $2.99! #ebookdeals #romantsy
The one thing Ransom wanted less right now than a swooning woman? A nuzzling woman. Since his injury, he didn‘t like anyone too close. And he didn‘t require any nuzzling, thank you. He had a dog. -- 😂😂
It was better than I expected. This is not a damsel in distress in need of saving. Its actually the other way around. It was a nice, easy read.
