This is my favorite book by this author. I could identify with the characters so much. I rated this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

As someone in her mid 20s, I have NO idea how this was my first time reading a Sarah Dessen book. I am HOOKED! This coming of age novel never had a boring moment. It was perfectly paced with just the right amount of character development.
I resonated with Dessen‘s thoughts about summer, which she noted at the end of the book (& which I attached above). The nostalgia of a high school summer is a precious feeling which Dessen captured magically. 5/5
It's been a minute since I've reread this one, but it holds up. I love how much depth Sarah Dessen gives all of her characters. Can't wait for the movie!! #yalit
As with all Sarah dessen books I love them. I love her writing style and how she builds her characters. Always a yes with her.
Auden, always the grown up even as a kid, learns how to be a kid with the help of Eli, a sad boy who can ride a bike. 🤷🏻♀️
The book Along for The Ride was engaging, fun, and hard to put down. It shows the crazy life of a girl who's summer is about to change big time... 😏
A teenage girl named Auden leaves her hometown in attempt to start anew. Along the way, she learns things about herself that she never new.
Extra August haul from the lifeline book fair yesterday
I love reading YA and some of my favorites are Sarah Dessen books. I would say YA is almost 50% what I read, especially lately.
I loved to read as a kid and there were so many series I loved like Babysitters Club, Goosebumps, and Box Car Kids. I can‘t wait to pass on my love of reading to my soon to be born daughter. These are all of the books I got at my baby shower, her library so far. Most of them are from Usborne books. #hour30 #24in48
I love Sarah Dessen books, so it‘s exciting that some adaptations will be coming soon. 😍 http://bit.ly/2EFrd6n

I think Sarah Dessen is the queen of #Easter eggs. She includes places and character cameos in her books.
Auden isn‘t someone I can really relate to. Her struggles with her mother are familiar to me though. And I do love the story.
However the first time I read it, I was probably 18/19, married, and just a kid really. Now as a mother, my heart broke for Heidi.
Overall great story, infuriating characters, but in a good way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I missed the original time for the Hour 6 Challenge, but I wanted to participate anyway.
The part of this quote that spoke to me was how she thanked her daughter for “teaching her the rest”. Everyday my daughter teaches me something new; patience, humility, how to laugh when you don‘t want to, how to trust. I‘ve never thanked her, I never thought to, she‘s only 13 months. But now I will.

Reading in my daughters room, so bookshelfie is with her collection instead of mine, hahaha.

Auden is different but kind of likable, her parents though make me want to DNF. But as before I do LIKE the story which keeps me reading. A chapter away from being half way through. Had to take a lunch break and after Little Missus‘ nap time, there‘s a party and then immediately after a dinner with friends. Let‘s see how much more time I can cram in.

So only 5 minutes into the actual #readathon but, that‘s fine by me. I was about to throw this pool in my pool, because Auden‘s parents are garbage people and the way her father is treating Heidi and their newborn daughter got my blood boiling so hard I had to stop and take a few breaths.
#dessennewyear #24in48
I decided to join the #24in48 fun at the last second. Never done anything like this before BUT it‘s a great time to start because tomorrow is Mom‘s Night Out and there‘s a bookstore next to the restaurant 📚 ❤️

#bookmail = fun mail!!
Another classic Dessen novel. Auden has a lot of baggage, and this is the summer she deals with it all. She makes real friends, and experiences all the normal growing up stuff she missed out on. And she eventually gets the chance to confront her parents about how their divorce affected her.
Most importantly, learning how to fail, and get up to try again, is an important lesson, and one my perfectionist heart is still learning every day.
This is just my 2nd Sarah Dessen.
A book set at sea🚲

Along for the Ride was in the middle of a 3 and a 4 for me. I felt like the character development was good in the beginning, but lacking at the end. Clearly struggling, I wanted Auden's parents to realize their wrongs and finally be there for her. I wanted her families to overcome their struggles and I wanted Auden to stand up for herself. I also felt like the book was lengthy, spending too much time on irrelevant things.

Dessen to me is the Queen of YA #beachreads ! This is an all-time favorite.
Ok so I'm in my bed and everyone is sleeping so I'm using the light on my phone to read a little waiting for my meds for my back to kick in and I read this line and I had to cover my mouth real quick cause I laughed loudly.. I'm so glad I picked this one up it kinda reminds me of me as a teen and how I was a bookworm even in summer
After finishing the truth about the Harry Quebert affair I think I'm in a reading slump. I have never read SD and I found this one on the sale table at the library so I bought I would give it a try.. my question is would this be a good one to get me out my reading slump.
Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors and most of her books are set in summer. I have almost all her books, but most are ebook version since I couldn't wait to get them in the mail or go to the store the day of their release! #Augustlibrary17

"It shouldn't be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It's the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. When something's difficult to come by, you'll do that much more to make sure it's even harder―or impossible―to lose.”
Home from work and SO happy to be settling in with the book again. (Guys, this salad is monstrous. I ordered it for lunch, ate a ton of it, and this is still what's left, so I don't have to think very hard about dinner!) #alongfortheride #sarahdessen
It's been a few days since my last #bookandabagel post, so! Does it get more summery than Sarah Dessen? 💖✨ #alongfortheride #sarahdessen
Favorite Sarah Dessen book! I loved Auden and could relate to her; I loved the romance in this story; I loved the actual story outside the romance. I basically loved everything around this book. Highly recommend ❤️
It could be a #cruelsummer when you are suffering from insomnia and sent to stay with your father, his new wife, and their new born in a place where you don't know anyone. Auden is lucky she is a character in a Sarah Dessen novel because things won't seem bleak for long. I am reading Dessen's latest book now so it makes sense that this one instantly came to mind for today's #junetunz
Auden, typical overachiever, spends the summer at the beach, and finally comes to terms with her parents' divorce and her lost childhood.
I read 20 books this month! More even than during a readathon month! Go me!
Not being a math person the first book that came to mind when I thought of pi day was this one. I think it is because when I have insomnia I want someone to take me to a laundromat for pie rather than tossing and turning in my bed. #marchmadness #piday
Rainbow book stack #riotgrams 🌈 Ignore the mess, I took this when we were building my new bookshelf! 📚
This was a solidly 'meh' book. I couldn't connect with the main character at all, and the romance felt very stiff. I know Sarah comes under fire for being formulaic, and she can be, but I usually love them regardless. This one just felt like names were thrown at the usual formula. It was cute, but nothing special. I'm still excited for the new book coming out, and I'm hopeful it will be more in line with Saint Anything. ✨3 Stars✨
Texting my #bookbestie @Pinkmeghan about the myriad ways in which we are Book People. Some people aren't, and that's ok, but it's always a bit startling when we're presented with the hardcore EVIDENCE of it. Gods above, I love my Book People, my fellow Littens. And I will ALWAYS remember where we were when Michael Jackson died....
Reading an old favorite. This book came out the year I graduated from high school. I wonder how I'll feel reading it seven years later.
It was so risky and so scary, and yet at the same time, so beautiful. Maybe the truth was, it shouldn‘t be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It‘s the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth.
I read Along for the Ride last year while at the beach and I just loved it. Perfect beach read.
