The Iron Trial | Cassandra Clare, Holly Black
Mehso-so

I have been wanting to read this novel for a while and I'm glad I finally did. To me This book is a cross between harry potter and avatar. The book started.out a little slow and didn't start to pick up until about the sixth chapter. I liked the book but not enough to rate it 4 stats and the slow beginning is just one factor. Some of the characters could have been more fleshed out then they were.

This was a great addition to the shadowhunters world. Loved the little notes and drawings in it periodically. Simon's, Jace's and Clary's banter just added to the fun of the book and made it better. I am glad I now know what it takes to be a shadowhunter.

I expected more from this. I was honestly kind of bored with this book because it did not seem to have much of a different story. Hopefully the other twisted tales are better than this one.

I read this book for the Ya Book club and I have never read a book like this before. It was entertaining and unlike anything I have ever read. Neal Shusterman is a master of world building. I also like all of the characters including Scythe Curie and Scythe Farraday. I cannot wait to read the next book .

I read this graphic novel really quickly. This was an amazing and hilarious graphic novel. It really made me want to read more graphic novels like this. I really liked how everyone in the end accepted prince sebastian for who he was and he was able to be his true self. This story was relatable as well.

This is my first book that I've read by Leigh Bardugo, I througholy enjoyed it. This novel was very well written and it was suspenseful and amazing. Galaxy Stern is a complex, well developed character and one of my favorite new book characters of the year. I love her fearlessness and her sardonic humor.

This book is one of my favorites. I haven't read anything about witches in a while so it was a welcome shift in my reading. I loved the two main characters Lou and Reid. I also loved the element and opposing forces of the withes and the witches. Also playing into those two opposing forces it has to do with the matriarchy of the witches and the patriarchy of the witch hunters.

This was a great conclusion to a series. The ending was kind of ambiguous and up to interpretation. I loved and hated the ending. I loved the characters and the plot. I will miss this gossip scandal like world and its crazy cast of richly developed and complex characters.

I love this book. It was even better than the handmaid's tale. There were plenty of plot twists. I loved all of the characters. My two favorite had to be Nicole and Agnes. I can't wait to discuss this next week at book club

I had tried reading this book when it first came out and I didnt like it for some reason. Now 7 years later I listened to it in audiobook form and enjoyed it a heck of a lot more. I found it compelling and fantastical. Marissa Meyer really knows how to write ya fantasy and I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

This book was so powerful, heartwrenching and relatable. i found this all the more relatable because of my own struggle with my mental health. I loved all the characters and surprisingly i also liked the doomed relationship between Riley and Charlotte. I liked the ending and that she learns to cope with her trauma and her mental illness. One quote that stuck with me was "We live, we bleed, we die." this quote is sad but also highly realistic.

I liked this book, but didn't love it. I didn't see the point in having the main black character be so stereotypical, she is the stereotypical abused black woman and I did not like it. However, I did like the friendship dynamic between Campbell and her.

This was a moving, powerful and poignant novel. I loved the twist of history in this book. I really enjoyed reading this author. I probably would have never picked up this book if it weren't for the barnes and noble book club but I definitely want to read more books by this author. I enjoyed the characters especially Nora and Toby. I love the strength and the brokenness of Nora.

i really enjoyed this novel. Well this seems like it is just another The fault in our stars it is not. It is so much more than that. It explores not only racism but Islamaphobia as well. I thought the novel handled not only the mentioned issues really well but also Multiple scolorisis as well. Both of these issues of Islamaphobia and Ms are rarely addressed in novels, especially in the world of Ya books.

I really enjoyed this book . I thought this book was going to be more graphic then it was. I thought this book should have or could have been longer than it was. I would have appreciated more detail and more characterization because I enjoyed both main characters a lot. I appreciated the change from women's issues and feminist revolution type novels to the civil rights movement and the treatment of African Americans in the South.

This book completely fell flat for me. The plot was uninteresting and I did not care about the characters at all. I am surprised I even made it halfway through the book because it was so unimpressive. The main character was the cliche princess who did not want to be a princess and I am sick of this character trope being used.

This was an engrossing novel, I really enjoyed the horror element of this novel and the suspense. I did not like the fact that there seemed to be no conclusion. the only thing that could solve this problem is a sequel, so I hope there is one. I liked the plot and the idea of the tox. I also liked the characters. I can't wait to discuss this at the book club next month

This memoir was all too relatable. The memories and the journal writings of Tara Westover were sad and hopeful and all too crazy. This was a powerful and moving novel. The issues in this book were addressed both realistic and empathetically. I think what made this even more powerful is not only the fact that I listened to this as an audiobook but that this story took place during the 1700's which shows that sexual assault happened even back then and is ongoing thing today.

I liked this book but did not like it as much as I thought I would. I really love the world that Faizal has built but the characters fell short for me. I did not think that the main character did not have enough traits to make her a believable and she was too one dimensonal. The world and the plot was very Aladdin like which kept me hooked until the end. I only wish I could give this book a higher rating

I really enjoyed this novel. This was the first book I've read by this author. I also do not read books in this genre very often and I was impressed by this author and this novel in general, I liked both characters but the character that resonated with me the most was Bethie. Jo's youngest daughter reminds me of my little sister. I also liked the issues adressed in this book.

Ever since I heard about this book I've wanted to read it. When the movie came out I wanted to rest it even more. Then I saw the movie and that is when I decided this month would be the month that I read it. I am so happy I finally did. With subtle differences compared to the movie I was entertained and intrigued to know what was going to happen next. The character of Simon is really fleshed out and has a great personality.
