Loved this twisty YA book. I have book 2 on my shelf and hope to get to it this month, too. It‘s probably another book I‘ll read with my daughter.

This one did not disappoint! A lot of moving parts and a lot of conclusions!👌🏻
2 Cheerleaders are murdered, 2 die in a car accident and 1 commits suicide… but are they all connected?
Who wants the cheerleaders taken care of? 📣
I actually enjoyed the first three-quarters of this YA-thriller. The central mystery was intriguing and the messy, complex characters felt very realistic in how they dealt with their grief. However, the ending was a real let-down, knocking this down to a so-so.
I feel like I actually have the energy to read lately. And reading on my lunch breaks at work has helped a lot.
I‘m enjoying this.
I also started Be Not Far From Me awhile ago but I cannot seem to read two books at a time😅
A bit predictable and the teenage drama was too much at times. I think it could have been cut down a few hundred pages, but it was entertaining enough to hold my interest.
This was a solid thriller. It's predictable if you know the genre well but the main character is unique in a way I'm not used to seeing. At some points she is pretty damn unlikable and it's refreshing that she actually acts like a confused teenager most of the time instead of having adult logic about everything.
Finished my Goodreads goal for the first time ever and I still have 2 months left! I am currently reading 2 books, one in my car while waiting to pick up my kids and one when I'm in the house. If I keep this up I might get at least 6 more books read this year. I wonder what my goal for next year should be? Maybe I'll do some challenges.
A great afternoon read. Fast paced and good twists with plenty of teen drama thrown in.
Finished off the tagged audiobook while working on these nails for a friend. I‘m trying my best to get through all my CloudLibrary holds, so I can finally make my way to all the #Chirp audiobooks that I bought for #Scarathlon😅 Worst case scenario, they can count towards #TBRreads during the #WinterGames lol.

All the cheerleaders are dead.
But that was five years ago.
Among the deaths is Monica‘s older sister, and she is determined to find out the full story of what has happened.
Someone in town definitely knows more than they are willing to say, and Monica is on a mission to find out the truth.
I was invested in this story, but I genuinely feel like it could have been shrunken down to a novella. Solid end and fun ride, but overall just a bit long.
Solid, twisty read! Best of all, I didn‘t have to think too much or worry if I lost concentration. Perfect read for me right now 😂🤪
This is a YA book about a girl whose sister committed suicide and she starts looking for answers. Along with this death, there are a few other cheerleaders who died in suspicious ways. There are a bunch of twists and interesting plot points in this one. Kara Thomas is an awesome author and I have liked everything I have ever read by her. This was super interesting, but I really wish I had read it physically because I think I missed a lot.
This was a decent suspense read. I will not deny that I had the hardest time continuing the story because of Monica's character introduction, which depicted her as a troubled teen that kept making mistake and boyfriend dependent. I did love Jennifer's perspective, she was a far more lovable character than Monica.
The troubled teenager perspective is not doing it for me
Loved it. Even though I kind of guessed it before the twist. But I personally blame all the murder shows mom used to make me watch growing up lol. Read it in one sitting. Gets you pulled in quickly.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I really liked the vibe of this book 🤍🖤🤍
@MaleficentBookDragon Thank you so much for my #AllHallowsReadSwap package! I love every bit of it and I‘m sorry to be late posting. I‘m on vacation and it took me a little while to get everything done.
Messy hair, a blanket scarf & a little YA Horror for this chilly late afternoon. 💛

Just like @MsB_13 I read this in 2 days and finished it last night at camp. I was pulled in from page 1 and really enjoyed reading it. There are a few lose ends left dangling (or I‘m over thinking it) but that does not take away from the conclusion or the reveals.

It ended up not being what I expected it to be at all. And that is okay. A good teen thriller.
Pretty good suspense novel! It drew me in and I couldn‘t stop reading, which means I finished it in two days. Definitely looking forward to reading more from Kara Thomas.
This one has sucked me right in. And yes, I‘m in bed at 7 at night. I can‘t deal with today anymore. Harpy is judging me. #catsoflitsy #kittenlitten
Finished it! I loved this one. It was an easy read (I think it's YA, but I'm not sure, there's some adult subject matter), it was interesting with twists and turns, and I liked the characters. Fun read!
Reading in Do Not Disturb mode! I have to finish The Cheerleaders today!
This took me on a wild ride! I loved it from the very beginning. I didn't guess the twist until right before it was revealed. It kept me guessing the whole entire time. Though I did have some questions at the end. All in all, great book
⭐️⭐️⭐️ A good YA thriller. There is no cheerleading squad at Sunnybrook High, it was disbanded five years ago after the deaths of five cheerleaders within two months. As the fifth anniversary approaches can Monica come to terms with what happened to her sister?
Trying a bit of YA horror, I‘m getting the doomed vibe I felt reading ‘The Virgin Suicides‘.
I‘ll be honest, I picked this up because I was a football & basketball cheerleader throughout high school and college and a cheerleader related mystery/thriller was just too much for me to ignore! I throughly enjoyed this and wasn‘t sure who committed the murder until the reveal. I would definitely read more from this author!
Took advantage of my local B&N doing curbside pickup to pick up some new books for me and my kidlet! Been struggling to read lately so was hoping something fresh and new would help and I was right! Started The Cheerleaders almost immediately after getting back and it‘s amazing!
What could be more cheerful than a cheerleader whodunit? I enjoyed this book

Meh, this was a bit slow for me. I picked it up and put it down for over a year before I finally finished it. It wasn‘t my favorite, but parts were suspenseful. #thecheerleaders #jpbookreview #minireview #bookreview #review #thegreeneyedreader
A pretty good YA read- saw most of the storylines toward the end coming, but still enjoyed this one about the deaths of five cheerleaders, and the sister who tries to figure out what might have really happened.
This was one of those books where I couldn‘t be sure who did it. I felt it was pretty good but although the mystery was intact and thought out pretty well I felt there was a little too much push for the protagonist, Monica to research the cheerleaders‘ deaths when there wasn‘t much to go on for clues. She was looking for an excuse I suppose. So I‘d recommend it as I did listen to it non-stop to see what happened.
It‘s a little later than usual but I finally got my November wrap up video up! I‘m excited to talk with you about the books I finished last month: https://youtu.be/1tCHRTxp5FU

So much happened in the first thirty pages that i wondered where the book had left to go. It had so MANY dark twists and turns. I enjoyed every minute of reading and will definitely be looking for more from this author.
One of my favorite parts of this book is slowly learning what really happened.
I thought I‘d give you a behind the scenes look at one of my book photo layouts. Things don‘t always go smoothly. Sometimes family members try to eat my props.
The Cheerleaders is a well-developed mystery packed with emotional depth and a compelling storyline.

“The cruelest people were the ones who seemed to coast through life, as if all that nastiness was a shield.”
I have social anxiety. The idea of joining a book group, although appealing, also terrified me. So when one of our favorite bookstores started one, I wrestled with my decision to join. I was ready to back out when my husband informed me that he was joining, too. My husband, who likes poetry and books on etymology, joined the book group for my sake. And here he is reading the latest pick, which is so far outside of his reading tastes. ♥️
Fast paced with a decent plot, good pacing and tension, interesting characters. I didn't connect with it as much as I had hoped, and a touch too unbelievable, but I did enjoy it, so a pick for me.
“No book buying November” was something I wanted to put into practice in my life. I‘ve failed miserably. More than once. I fear I will die before I actually read all of the books I currently own but I don‘t know how to kick the addiction! I went to pick up my copy of The Cheerleaders, which I ordered for book group through a local bookstore and I saw there was a buy one, get one free sale. What rational book lover could possibly resist that?
This book was like a cross between pretty little liars and glee. I loved the characters and elements in this book. Read this book if you want total creepy vibes and a great setting.
I quite enjoyed this. A nice little mystery in a high school setting with multiple strands weaving throughout the story. A good, tense and satisfying ending.
I was planning to rate this YA murder mystery a “so-so“ but it grew on me. I went in thinking it was going to be kind-of campy & fun (maybe it was the cover?) but it was actually very somber & emotionally-complex. Also, triggers galore. The prose isn't anything to write home about but the characters & plot are compelling enough. The slowly-revealed relationship between Jen & her secret suitor is so tender, young, & heartbreaking.
