Blythe Baird's collection is beautifully mature. Some of the poems make you sad, but there's a sense of a person who has grown up in these pieces which helps a lot; which gives you hope. That our personalities are more than what broke us.

I knew so little about Lucy Stone,an abolitionist & suffragette, for reasons I discovered while reading this book. Lucy‘s quest for women‘s rights during late 19th c into the 20th c lead her to ask the enduring question,”What kind of world are we sculpting,”…”if family was to be the enemy of work? Was there no way to have both?”
When I can travel to Boston I want to visit the Boston Women‘s Heritage Trail.🔽

katy4peas @kspenmoll wow! That is cool! I want to go there sometime too! 3y

You know a book leaves an impression on you when you still feel strongly about characters & events days after finishing it? This book is a wonderful character study, the plot is slow-moving and the characters drive everything forward. I‘m looking forward to how the series will adapt the ending and maybe also expand on the story.

Buechersuechtling Yeah, I liked this one a lot, too, after I read it, which is, when I recall it correctly, about two or three years ago. But I have to say, that the more I think about it, the more I like “Everything I never told you” better. 🤷🏽‍♀️ 5y
thewallflower0707 @Buechersuechtling that book is also on my list 🙂. I would like to watch the series adaption with Reese Witherspoons, but I can‘t find it on any of my streams. 5y
Buechersuechtling @thewallflower0707 I didn‘t even know there is one. (I think, to be the last one who finds something out is kind of typically me. 😉) But please, let me know where you find it in case you will do so in the future. 🙇🏽‍♀️ 5y

3.5 or 4 stars- I See You was a creepy, realistic thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Some of the twists in this one were a bit more predictable than they usually are in her books, but I still hung on to every word, anxiously waiting to find out how it would all turn out.

Mehso-so

Meh, this was a bit slow for me. I picked it up and put it down for over a year before I finally finished it. It wasn‘t my favorite, but parts were suspenseful. #thecheerleaders #jpbookreview #minireview #bookreview #review #thegreeneyedreader

LibrarianRyan I agree. I thought it could be so much better 5y
Erinreadsthebooks I tried and didn‘t get very far before I put it down. Wish it was better, so much potential but it just fell flat. 5y

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars - I LOVED this book 😍. It took me a little longer than usual to read this suspenseful book, but I think that was only because I didn‘t want it to end. It is beautifully written and the descriptions and character observations really pull you into the story. I made several guesses along the way, and although I got close a couple times, I didn‘t put all the pieces together until the very end. Highly recommend! #jpbookreview

Christie Watson has spent 20 years being a nurse in England's healthcare system. In this intimate portrait of her career she shares what it means to be a nurse. We start her journey with her on her first day of training. Describing the ins and outs of the hospital. Experiencing life and death in each of these wards. She describes patients she has cared for. And captures what it truly takes to do her job.
