This is my third book from JD Robb‘s In Death series and I think it‘s my favorite so far! On a side note, I hate when B&N puts these stickers on the books.
I am always amazed that Robb can keep churning out original, inventive murder cases for Eve to solve...but she does.
This one centers around a disturbed woman who confuses fiction from reality and decides to “rewrite” a popular murder series featuring the killers as heroes.
Missed a few of her regular supporting cast members, but all-in-all another satisfying addition to the series!! 👍 4.5/5⭐️

“On the mega screen bloody murder played out in classic black and white for an audience of one hundred and seven. With the sharp screech of violins, violas, and cellos that number dropped by one.”
Up next I‘m tackling my #bookspin for this month. I‘m a little behind on this series of 50 (so far) so I‘m playing catch up with number 46. 😊
Excited to check in with Dallas, Roarke and the gang!

#LitsyPSA for Austin-area Littens - if you‘re out in the icky weather we‘re having and enjoy J.D. Robb, it looks like Recycled Reads on Burnet got in someone‘s entire collection. You might be able to call them and ask them to hold them for you too. They should all be $1 to $2 each if I remember the hardback pricing right.
❤️Love Eve & Roarke

Demon the kitty says 4 out of 5 stars
Hour 30 Challenge, Favorite Series. I couldn‘t choose between these two. I have read all 50 something of the In Death books, Eve and Roarke will always be my favorite couple. A close second is Kate and Curran of the Kate Daniels series. Anything by the Ilona Andrews writing team is a top pick for me. #24in48 @24in48
This was a definite 4 star for me. I never get tired of this series.

First, how cute is this mug and pumpkin from Target dollar spot?!?
This was a good book. I've heard some say it was boring, but as this is like #46 in the series, I feel they can't all be overly action-packed. And I quite enjoyed it. As always, love all the characters and the developement of even secondary characters. Great series!
1. Funny (yet true) pic I saw on Facebook tonight.
2. I'd take them out. I don't really cook, but I can bake them something!
3. Hunkering down during the pictured storm and reading.
4. I don't have just one fav. I like so many!
5. Cooler eather, decorations, colors, smells, so many things!

Starting this one today.
So, went back to Target today and got a few more books, a new booklight for reading at night, and some cute notecards (even though I have some coming in from Amazon any day). Also got a couple cute fall items from Dollar Tree, though the one I went to today wasn't that great.
Book 46 in the In Death series & I still love this series. And this was a perfect read for National Book Lover‘s Day because there‘s an author & her books involved.

1. Too many, but these are some I sing along with: Coldplay, Liz Phair, P!nk, Colbie Calliat
2. I‘m in the middle of 4 reading challenges. But I‘m doing great on GR: 69/78
3. Not enough. Stupid work. Gets in the way of all my fun.
4. What constitutes a lot? There is crime (where isn‘t there?), but so far, I‘ve remained unscathed.
5. For the first time in over 10 years, I have long hair (touching my shoulders, which is long for me).

So needed this today. Found the new J.D. Robb in paperback at Target. Then came home & in my mail was my ThriftBooks & PapaerbackSwaps + some #jblove from @CareBear & @knittedgnome
Plus the new Stitchery catalogue - look at those cute Halloween cross-stitches on the front! 👻 🎃
The 46th book in this Series. I usually fly through this series, but this one I found lacking. Eve and Roark stay in and read, with a fire going, which I kinda liked. It was a new side to them. Of course, they were reading books for a case. The characters are still evolving after 46 books, which I like.
Not my favorite of the series. Though 46 books later I‘m still reading them! I still love Eve and Roarke and all of their crew. #series #suspense #strongwomen #glorytotheguild
1. Banana Boat Song aka Day-o because I‘m teaching it to my band 🎶
2. Dark in Death, getting close to the end, love Eve & Roarke 😍
3. Les Miserable 1,463 pages! 🧐

I've been a fan of this series for a long time and have read them all though the last few have not been as great as the first ones. I feel like the books have stepped into this place where the characters don't really grow anymore and previous quirks that were cute are too much now. Maybe this is due to Eve working through the abuse she suffered as a child in the previous books. I think I'm done with the steries unfortunately.
#Audiobook #Review: Dark in Death by J.D. Robb with @brillianceaudio. Eve and Roark are still going strong.⠀

Feels like the most metatextual of her novels: Eve tracks a serial killer, a former fan of a popular best-selling series of murder mysteries, who is recreating them after becoming disgruntled with the author. Lots of passages about how some readers can‘t maintain boundaries, invest too much in the fictional universe, & try to bully authors. Cozy scenes with Roarke, no one in the inner circle is in personal danger, & Bella makes a cute appearance.
I just love these books. Constant character growth.
When people ask why I read these books still, it‘s things like this: the fact that Eve has grown enough to let Peabody have the damn yarn. Little things like this that show how the characters change over time.
I update more on Goodreads, but I wanted to pop over and say that I‘m really enjoying this one. I especially love the “meta” aspect of her writing about a writer, especially about fans trying to write her novels. Gave me the lolz pretty good.
I‘ve gotten to the point where I think I‘m done with this series. Nothing new is happening and it‘s all gone stale.
😂
Happy to start off the weekend with this!
Reading while I get a pedicure. Life is good 😁😁

Excellent plot . Killer stealing ideas for murders from a popular author. Rourke as always a romantic and Eve as a hardass cop. Highly re commend all the Eve Dallas books.
Another fantastic entry in the series! I really enjoyed the plot of this one and the great comedic scenes Robb can write were perfectly timed.
By book 40 something you know what you‘re getting: a thrilling crime, some witty dialogue, and a familiar cast of characters. The crime set up was interesting but a little underdeveloped. Not one of my favorites in the series but perfect for a rainy Sunday read.
Finally getting over the flu and ready to see what Eve and Roarke are up to!
My #libraryhaul for the day! (We shall not talk about the dozens of books I‘ve already checked out).
I hit a reading slump for most of January where nothing I picked up was holding my attention. Then I got the new In Death book and couldn't put it down. So now I am re-reading a few others in the series and hoping my slump is over.
Finished this today too! I really enjoy this series! There are a couple of series I still read, but only out of loyalty. But not this one, I‘m still in!
I love each and every JD Robb with no apologies. Eve cracks me up, and the quote above is a good example as to why. Great futuristic police procedural and looking forward to the next in the series already!
