It‘s great to be able to rely on tried and true faves to break you out of a string of average reads. The Rizzoli and Isles series never disappoints me when I am looking for compelling crime reading. I had enough distance on my first read of this to find it enjoying to look for the clues I might have missed the first time around. Looking forward to the new instalment next month.

This one was a real stretch. The plot was all over the map. Serial killer in present linked to 20 year old satanic panic daycare case. And too many red herrings to shake a stick at.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
The 12th (final?) book in the Rizzoli and Isles series may be the best yet. While I sort of had figured out the who fairly early on, the why kept me glued to this one. Gerritsen is a master storyteller, and I do wish there were more of these in store, but I get the feeling this was the last.

Book 13/20 for #crushtherush @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick
Book 9 for #progressitnovember (finished the series)

Rizzoli and Isles are unbelievably fun to read about. This series doesn‘t have enough books.

Bookzombie I agree! I love this series. 5y

When the book you're currently reading features victims being murdered the exact way the Catholic saints whose death days correspond with their birthdays, and you go looking to see which saint died on your birthday. Then sigh in relief, because she died of nature causes and not by some twisted form of torture.

Finally reading this! Murder and mayhem connected to Satanic Panic case years ago. Is this revenge for false accusations, or something more? Also, Maura struggles with her feelings for Father Daniel and Rizzolo deals with her parents being (unhappily on her mom's part) back together.

I‘ve been listening to this all week during school pick up and although the narrator took some getting used to I have really enjoyed. The Rizzoli & Isles series is one of my favourites and this latest instalment (book 12) is a great addition. As usual the chemistry and dialogue between the two main characters (both intelligent, strong women) is engaging and the writing style of Tess Gerritsen gripped me from the very start.

My final time for #24in48 and probably the closest I have been to 24 hours yet. I feel like this time went so much more smoothly. I nearly wrapped up 5 books (some were started before). I read 1,002 pages and listened to audiobooks for 8.87 hours. 💃🏼🎉📚🤓

Bookzombie @Reggie Hi! Yes, I‘m okay. How are you? Thanks so much for checking on me. 😊 I‘m so out of the loop. I didn‘t know Meg was out. Did you see it? Was it good? 🦈 6y
Reggie So I just finished Meg, and I love Jason Statham, and I‘m glad we get to see him shirtless, lol, but I‘d rather see Piranha, Jaws, or Deep Blue Sea any day of the week. Hell, I‘d rather watch 2 of my favorite bad movies to watch, Showgirls and the Doom Generation, better than this. Meg was meh to me. I didn‘t want to answer you until I saw it. Hope you‘re doing great. 6y
Bookzombie @Reggie Thanks! I will wait to see Meg then, lol. I watched Piranha a couple of weeks ago and I have Deep Blue Sea in my Netflix queue. I have seen it many times. I saw Jaws for the first time last year and loved it. I hope you are doing great too! I need to get back to being on Litsy regularly! 🙂 6y

Very captivating. It was a little confusing at the beginning because I was slow to recognize each chapter changed points of view. I did guess the murderer halfway or so through, but I didn‘t want to put it down. It was well written, and I will definitely be buying more books in the series. I definitely recommend. The details aren‘t for the faint at heart, and there are possible triggers for some people.

The books are so different from the tv series. 20 years ago people were getting hysterical about satanic cults everywhere abusing children & law enforcement was using hypnosis. A lot of innocent people went to jail on false memories

So, I‘ve decided to start actually rating what I read. What a novel idea! See what I did there!? 😬 Turned this back in to the library today. It was very good! Like Gerritsen usually does, she keeps you guessing until the end about whodunit. And we got to spend some time with Rizzoli and Isles- one of my fave crime fighting duos! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘m doing some #lunchtimereading. This book is so good so far. Of course, it‘s Tess Gerritsen. She‘s usually pretty fab. I‘m enjoying the escape from a few crabby coworkers who were offended that I Lysol-ed their door handles and light switches. I don‘t get it. One of us has a cold that she probably caught from two others who have been sick recently. #coldgermsarenotyourfriends 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is my fav out of the series that I‘ve read so far. How about meeting a sociopath? Or kids who‘s doing things you couldn‘t imagine them doing it. Welcome to Rizzoli and Isles new adventure. Bizarre murder scene. Unable to determine COD. Isles‘s serial killer Mother is spinning her web at her deathbed. Playing games again. She knew something even though she‘s in prison. #suspense #tessgerritsen

I hadn't enjoyed the last few books of this series because they became really conspiracy theory-based and that's just not my jam. I am really glad I gave this one a try, though, because it was a very good read! Fast-paced and I only figured out the more obvious part of the twist.

Bookzombie Yay! I love this series, but didn't love the last one as much. Great to hear this one is good. I'm waiting on my hold to come in. 🙂 7y

I've read all the Rizzoli and Isles books and watch the tv show. The issue I've had with the earlier R&I books is that they were just over the top. But, I liked them well enough to keep reading. I think this is the best R&I book to date. The story is engaging and page turn worthy and it hit just the right amount of suspense without eye rolling. A really enjoyable read.

I would have a picture of this book, but I seemed to have packed it away in my whirlwind of moving. I really enjoyed this one! I was not disappointed. It pulls from the 80's satanic panic, and has some Catholic material. I don't want to give too much away. This was settled very nicely in my wheelhouse.

#TBRtemptation post 4! Just released. This is the 12th installment in the very popular, and TNT-adapted Rizzoli & Isles series. Detective Rizzoli & medical examiner Isles examine a peacefully-reposed corpse with no apparent cause of death, her eyes in her hands, echoing her movie style. Then another victim is found grotesquely staged and connected to the first victim. The next victim is already known because she knows. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Finished this already! I wish she wrote chunksters like Karin Slaughter & Elizabeth George, her books never last as long as you want them to. When a woman is found dead in her apartment with her eyes removed and placed in her hand, both Detective Rizzoli & Dr Isles think something bigger is happening. When another body shows up with a similar MO, they tie the killings to Matyrs deaths in the Catholic Church which leads them back to an old case.

Captivatedbybooks I totally agree!!!! Ive read almost all of them and feel the same way when their over. Like im not ready for this relationship to end 7y

Some more #BookMail today, a pre-order from booktopia.com.au I love Tess Gerritsen, I only received this about 4hrs ago and I'm already on pg235. I could inhale her Rizzoli & Isles books, they're so much better, and darker, than the tv series. Rizzoli is married to the FBI agent Gabriel Dean & has a 3yr old daughter & Maura is the biological daughter of a female serial killer & she's having a love affair with a priest. Very different from the tv.
