@dabbe
I‘m not proud that this made me laugh… but it did.
My physical copies of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings pocket editions arrived. These are awesome.

This one made me giggle because it‘s so silly (obviously had to share immediately)

I can't believe I almost missed Tolkien Reading Day! But here I am to raise a toast to our favourite professor!
My friends make fun of me because I often say, “This is one of my favourite Tolkien quotes,“ and they say, “They are all your favourite quotes!“ LOL! I suppose they are right.
But this quote would make any reader's heart sing!
Happy Tolkien Reading Day!
Busy week this week so I‘m playing catch up. I think it would be cool to be a Valkyrie! I couldn‘t think of any books other than Norse mythology with Valkyries (except for Marvel comics), so I chose the tagged book as it is an all time favorite. #Two4Tuesday
“This book is largely concerned with Hobbits, and from its pages a reader may discover much of their character and little of their history.”
One-Volume book, it‘ll be the biggest book I‘ve read when finished. 1,031 pages not including all the Appendices and extra stuff. 1/3 of the way through.
#FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl
I‘m all set for the extended edition lord of the rings marathon… turned up early to make sure I got the seat I wanted 💪🏼 (the seats at the Astor vary wildly in comfort - I don‘t think they are the original 1936 seats but maybe they are?)
Maybe should have worn shoes that didn‘t clash with the carpet… (please excuse the weird tan the top of my feet are currently rocking… genuinely perplexed by the tan lines I have)
For today's #NewYearNewBooks prompt, what better example than JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books for #involvesjourney and pictured are my dad's collection of said books he gifted me.
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs
I‘m off to an extended edition lord of the rings marathon next weekend - and I‘m so excited!
I see the trilogy on an almost yearly basis in cinema - and I‘m so chuffed that it‘s back at The Astor - not just because it‘s the last standing, single screen movie palace in Melbourne but because they always play the extended editions (Lido may have the comfier seats but the theatrical edition don‘t have Legolas & Gimli trying to out drink each other)
Snagged this gem during a small book haul today. All three books in one volume in about 1200 pages with color illustrations and maps.
I have to admit that I‘ve never read the LOTR books so this will me my first journey through.
Watch this documentary for free on Tubi. It‘s about some of the real places and events that inspired Tolkien to write some of his greatest works.

My goal for the year was 75 so I‘m pretty happy with my 76. The tagged was one of my favorites ❤️😁
New Year‘s Eve we always Marathon a series of movies. This year is Lord of the Rings. Sadly we don‘t have The Hobbit. Hoping our nephew does and we will just watch it out of order. 🫣 #FellowshipofTolkien @Daisey @JazzFeathers
I have not done one of these before, but @monalyisha has suggested this for #AuldLangSpine, so I thought, why not :)
Hi @JamieArc , I am Anna, 36 years old, living in Switzerland. I read mostly as an escape from my very busy and hectic life as a sports journalist and mum of a very active 4-years-old. My reading is all over the place: bookclub-reads, cozy crimes, stuff I stumbled over on Litsy. I am also a big sucker for books about books.
When I was 12, Santa brought me this huge single volume, illustrated edition of The Lord of the Rings. I read it front to back three times in a row in a single year. 💖 It‘s still one of my most treasured possessions.
#SundayFunday If you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. And if you don‘t, have a happy Sunday! And remember to tag me in your posts!
Enjoy this AI image I ‘imagined‘ of Gollum looking at rings in a jewelry store🤣

For my fellow #TolkienChristmas #FellowshipofTolkien buddy readers: I had completely forgotten about this Christmas album, but was reminded of it today. With songs such as “Christmas in the Shire” and “A Merryless Christmas,” it‘s hilarious and exactly what I needed during a frustrating workday. I had to share—I hope it brightens your day as well! #TolkienChristmas
I have read this before but it had been more than 30 years. So while I remembered the basic idea, I did not recall any of the details. I absolutely loved the #LoTRChapteraDay pace and I definitely appreciated it more than when I read it as a teenager. All the ⭐️ Can‘t wait to read it again! #FellowshipofTolkien @Daisey @JazzFeathers

Sorry for the delay, guys. It's been a busy week and I'm still on the Road with the Rohirrim! But I'll try to catchup with weekend.
In the meantime, here is the schedule of the Appendices.
And what could we ever read in December? 😏
Finished this today as part of the #LotRChapterADay Read-along. This is my favorite book. I found that breaking it down into a chapter a day made me appreciate it more. Having finally read The Silmarillion earlier this year added depth to this reading of LotR. Tolkien is a master story-teller and world builder. The illustrations in this edition showcase his ability to share his vision of Middle Earth. This edition is a must for Tolkien fans.
I‘m all set to start Book 6-even have my new favorite sweatshirt 😉🤣
It‘s hard to believe we‘re almost finished with this. I‘ve loved doing the #LoTRChapteraDay #FellowshipofTolkien @Daisey @JazzFeathers
Diving into Book Five after a little break in the #LotRChapterADay Read-along
I may be late, and left my handkerchiefs behind… but I finally made it to Book 4! #LOTRChapteraDay #FellowshipOfTolkien
