This was such a fun read as I didn‘t know this was a book. I think kids would find it very fun to read and it has a fun playful feel. It teaches about imagination and pushing towards one‘s dreams.

“The food kept coming, and it kept getting bigger and bigger. Soon there were pancakes the size of cars and spaghetti as long as the street.”
I could use this book in my classroom and do a lesson on creative writing and imagination. This is because the book inspires creativeness with the weather and food. I could do an activity where students write and illustrate their own “weather“ stories and describe what kinds of objects or food they want to fall from the sky in their own invented world.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, is a children‘s picture book published in 1978. Set in the fictional town of Chewandswallow, the story imagines a world where food falls from the sky-like weather, leading to hilarious and chaotic situations.
My husband loves Chicago Dogs and used to get them at Sonic. I don‘t know how long this place has been around, but we just discovered it and tried it out. We liked it. The old posters with huge hotdogs floating on the water next to a normal sized city made me think of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for sure!
I saw one of my favorite childhood books today at BJ‘s (first was Grandfather Twilight) and got so excited. Shown: AI‘s version of cloudy with a chance of meatballs 🤣 The second image is nice, with it being the 1st day of Pride, and the clouds are trans colors! 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🍽️🍝☁️

Day 26: Food
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs by Judi Barrett. Another one of my daughter's books. ☔☁🥘🥗🥞🧀🌮🌭🍉🍔🍕🍟
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs! A great storytelling, Science Fiction picture book for the classroom! This is a story about an inventor who invents a machine that can turn water into food. When it rained, it rained FOOD! All types of weather now just brought in food. What a life!
Again, I found a great YouTube Read Aloud video you can adapt in your lesson plan.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is a SF picture book written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett. In it, man tells his grandkids a bedtime story about a town where it rains food. This book begs to be used in an RA with potential for vocab, writing, or even science extension activities. This site has excellent teacher resources for the book: https://www.teachingideas.co.uk/library/books/cloudy-with-a-chance-of-meatballs #ucflae3414su20

“... and landed right on Henry.“
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a fun and silly book. I do not find a hidden lesson that needs to be told to the kids, but more of a book you can read whenever just for some entertainment.
This picture book is another classic. however, the illustrations in this one are what help separate it. The illustrator uses lines to build a beautiful world.
This MF book is a classic, and one of my favorites growing up. It was written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett. Chewandswallow is a special town with special weather. The residents never have to buy food, because three times a day food falls from the sky for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Until the weather takes a turn, and gets extreme. How will the residents of Chewandswallow react? #ucflae3414f19
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is a F picture book written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett about a small town named Chewandswallow where it rains food. As great as food falling from the sky sounded initially, it caused problems that the people of Chewandswallow now have to face. An activity that I would like to do with my students after doing a RA would be for them to make newspaper articles from the Chewandswallow newspaper.
“Henry and I were betting on how many pancakes we each could eat.”
I will definitely be reading this to my classroom! This book provides the children with endless creativity and I think that they will enjoy this completely! Food falling from the sky is sure to make them laugh!
“Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” was written by Judi Barrett in 1978. This book was one that I started reading when I was in elementary school. The illustrations are amazing with the different types of food falling from the sky! I also really like the colors that are incorporated into this story! I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
This was one of my favorite books as a kid and is just as delightful as an adult. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ @LibrarianRyan #bbrc #a2z
Wow! I was shocked to see how low the ratings for this book was on Litsy. I found the classic illustrations to be delightful, and the story was creative and fun! #BBRC #A2Z #picturebooks @LibrarianRyan ♥️
The screenshot from Libby kept saving all blurry, so I boreowed a picture from Pinterest! 📷 (and now this makes me want to match my meals with my books... I actually had meatballs for dinner! 😅)
This book is a Fantasy. This book is based on a grandfather telling his grandkids a story about how the people in the town never have to go hungry because food rains from the sky. Although, it seems like a joy it begins to get very messy and destructive. This would be a great storytelling.

Going to a baby shower tomorrow and these are my books “in lieu of a card”. Some of my favorites from my childhood 😊🍝☔️ (parents want to be surprised and aren‘t finding out the gender of the baby. Made book shopping a bit more difficult, but can‘t wait to meet the little lady or lad in a couple weeks 👶🏻)
before the rep roaring movie of the same name, there was a book about it. the weather predicted rain anything from fried eggs to hot dogs.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is a story written by Judi Barrett and drawn by Ron Barrett. This is a story with a great deal of imagination. The weather is food which immediately would make kids interested.
Day 11 #SpringIntoReading
For today's prompt #Clouds I chose Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
My husband and daughter both love the books and movies. They have a special bond when it comes to kids movies and always watch them together. Then sing the songs, say quotes and act out scenes while I have no idea what they are talking about 😂

Every time we go to O‘Charleys‘s, my favorite childhood book comes to mind because of the pictures on the wall.
This delicious F book is about a small town where food comes from the sky, not from a store. I remember seeing the movie as a kid, but I completely forgot it was a book! This would make a hilarious addition to a nutrition unit as a RA, IR, RT, PR, or even a difficult S. #UCFLAE3414SP18
This book really does fit into modern fantasy. I mean kids now really think that some day it may actually rain meatballs. It‘s hilarious. The book is a good read and the children love the what if behind it. #UCFWaltersLit #ModernFantasy https://www.teachervision.com/summarizing-cloudy-chance-meatballs
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is an American children's book written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett. This book is a fantasy and did not win any awards but, the author has wrote many other books as well that deals with food coming to life and taking over the world. This book will make you very hungry while you read and is funny as well. #ucflae3414F17
Day 4 #90sInJuly Happy 4th of July ???? Tomorrow I board a ✈️ heading for Florida...I'm praying for #NoRain but the weather forecast isn't looking too good ???I'd be happy with "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" BTW: My son used to love this silly story #throwback
I love this fun children's book- it definite invites the reader to let their imagination run wild! #aprilbookshowers #weather

I've always loved this fun #weather book. I would not mind having dinner fall from the sky.
#augustphotochallenge As a birthday present to myself last week, I treated myself to a trip to a bookstore. That's the stack on the left. I had extra time to kill and decided to check out the library's used bookstore to get some books for my classroom. Picked up "a few" things for myself, too. That's the stack on the right. ? #damnitlitsy #bookstacks
