Thank you to Sara at St. Martins Press who always so kindly sets me up with #ARCs from this favorite cozy series. I can‘t believe we are at book 18 in the Bakeshop Mystery series! This one will be out in Feb 2024 & takes place between the Christmas & New Year‘s holidays with Ramiro‘s family visiting from Spain & lots of festivities on Mount A in Ashland. There‘s the murder of a shady-acting tour guide ⬇️

DebinHawaii …for Jules to help solve & of course, lots of Torte‘s tasty treats. That‘s the only downside to the ARCs, the recipes aren‘t aren‘t in them yet & both the stuffed curry buns & chai cookies sounded amazing.🤤😋 Never read this series on an empty stomach! (edited) 12mo

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to read all 138 #ARCs on my #NetGalley #MountARC, but I'm hoping to get through a few at least.

I should be reading the already published #ARCs
📚 Hex and the City
📚 Saevus Corax Deals with the Dead

I'm also listening to
🎧 The African Samurai

To borrow from @CSeydel - But what I'm actually doing right now is watching the 13th series of Doctor Who and knitting.

Well, that's the end of our first group event. I hope you all enjoyed it and were able to whittle through some of those #arcs I've loved seeing all your posts, so thank you for joining me.

Did the extension to end of August help? I really would appreciate honest feedback as I assess, ready for the Autumn event.

Librarybelle I liked having a “season” for the challenge. I did not make my reading goals, but that has a lot to do with complications of life. However, part of my goals included looking at books I need to review and writing reviews for those books I did read in a different format. I have so many to review it‘s ridiculous, so easy to miss some I‘be read! I was able to review over 20. Thanks for hosting this…cannot wait for the autumn challenge! 1y
AllDebooks @Librarybelle I think it's so easy to get caught up in the reading, that the reviewing gets lost. That's what I've used this challenge to get caught up on. Not as many as 20 tho, that is impressive. Well done!! 🙌 1y
Julsmarshall I loved the challenge, seeing what everyone was reading, and the season-long length. I will for sure join in the fall! 1y
AllDebooks @Julsmarshall that's great to hear. Thanks for you feedback x 1y

This packs a powerful punch for such a short book. Olesya writes beautifully of her love for her family and country. It is an evocative account of the Russian/Ukrainian war, told from one family's perspective. By writing in this way, Khromeychuk personalises the people behind the statistics and headlines of the war reportage. She does in a very humane and compassionate way. It is a crucial commentary on ⬇️

AllDebooks Cont. on Putin's agenda against Ukraine and the West's reaction to the invasion. Well worth reading. 1y
